Disappointing to have the students, minus the band, cheer team, dazzlers, and first few rows of True Blue sit the entire game. When @enrique14150, I, and our small crew were down there for the Bonnies game we made a ton of noise the entire time. If any students are reading this, the aluminum steps inbetween the seat levels makes a ton of noise if you hit it with your foot. I've been tempted to walk over to the student section to make noise before because it sounds like a library at times. sigh, I know I'm gonna regret this Minus the expletives, sexual harassment, and general distastefulness of the Bonnies student section, they're loud and they cheer for their team. We could really use that. WE'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE. The blackout game vs Kent where Evans had the stepback 3, True Blue was standing up and filled both baselines and a section in the 300's. Later that year against Bowling Green I remember the students standing the whole time. I think as recently as a couple years ago we had a game against Akron where the student section stood the entire time. I don't expect the Cameron Crazies. I don't expect people camping out for the best spots. I just wish there was more noise coming from the student section.

I thought this was relevant to post, but don't want to speculate too much here as it is obviously a sensitive topic and her sister is still playing. I thought that was odd. Earlier this season it was said that she was injured. Though I would imagine that her talking as a "former student-athlete" in the article means that her UB BB career is over. She hasn't played or even been on the sidelines for the games this year. Which is odd given that Summer has been rehabbing her leg/ankle/low extremity and she has been along the sideline for all women's games. I wish her the best, hope she gets the help she needs, and applaud her for having the strength to write about something so personal to her.

True, yeah I guess if I put up with that when we have 8pm MACtion kickoffs, I can put up with it in a climate controlled arena.

Sucks having a 5pm tipoff, but I'd rather miss most of the first half than get home at 11pm.

It was odd because the last regular season game had #3 and #5 playing each other, with a game difference in the standings. The #5 won, creating a tie between those teams. We won, adding UB to the mix and since we lose the three way tie we dropped with a win.

Note that gametime is likely to be closer to 8, given the fact that it is very likely the women will play a home game in the 5/5:30 range

I think he was doing that to get the walkons in. But you can't do that in this close of a game. If MU made both free throws and we made a sloppy inbound (St Bonaventure anybody?), it would have turned into a heck of a finish.

How did you guess?!?! To be fair, it’s easier to single out and know officials names on the women’s side since there are still very few of any female officials for MBB. To also be fair, she’s terrible.

They seem to have a go to pool of officials especially on the women’s side. It might be geographic, but I’ve seen a certain (possibly blind) official at UB games too many times for it to be coincidence.

They almost lost their first game last year if not for the magic of Presley Hudson. Throw a shot up at the buzzer and know it goes in before it even gets close to the basket. I am so glad we don’t have to face her any more.

Problem is the last game that I think they played well in was the CMU game close to a month ago. I was thinking that this year would go in the opposite direction. Blow OOC, dominate MAC play. 😞

That would have been a bad game to drop. Glad they could pull out the W. A home game is still a possibility.

When the average non-spirit team student attendance for WBB is somewhere around 20, I think it's great. Add in that the Dazzlers have close to doubled in size and the band is considerably larger than it was in past years, more students than ever are watching this team. It isn't as much as it should be, but progress is progress.

They had Cheeburger Cheeseburger gift cards for the first 50 students for yesterday's game.
