  1. Unless you’re Brock Bertram lol
  2. Any time a player plays pro ball anywhere is good for the program. Hopefully one day we crack the NBA. Until then, best of luck to Rondo. And thanks for the 4 years. Same to Williams and all our other seniors.
  3. If anything the run gets him a few extra dollars. I begrudge him nor the athletes anything. It’s a dog eat dog system in which those at the top profit the most and unfairly. So if a coach wants to secure the bag, cool. And if a player wants to transfer bc he thinks there’s a spot out there that’s better to him and his personal outlook for securing the bag, then cool. Get yours. Yes this all sucks for us UB fans. As a mid major school this is what we find ourselves in. Such is life. But that life is no excuse to not invest and reinvest into athletics. Bc even that one run…provides so so much. Rant over. I didn’t quote you to get at you. Please don’t take it that way. I agree with your post regarding Seton Hall.
  4. Until coaches honor contracts why should the athletes? Just look at Holloway. Rumors are he has a deal in place to go to Seton Hall. All while leading St. Peter’s on a Cinderella run. Is there a one time transfer policy? Meaning you get one transfer before you sit out a year? Someone fact check that.
  5. Agree. However, this is a hire Alnutt cannot get wrong. Are you willing to entrust a program at its peak to a newbie?
  6. Someone with actual head coaching experience. Someone in charge of a staff. X’s and O’s. Game and roster management. Roots in recruiting.
  7. Because of course. No thanks I’ll pass.
  8. The day we knew would come. Can’t say this is shocking. Hopefully the AD has a plan ready to go.
  9. Ask yourself this question: are you happy if after 3 years you get a Mac title/tournament appearance and lose your coach or 3+ years of being what we are now?
  10. Time for the university to invest into our athletics. Across all sports.
  11. Whenever the time comes, I want the next coach to have a fire and ambition to wanna become a high profile coach. That drive will lead to a mac title or two before he moves on. Then rinse and repeat with the next coach.
  12. This off-season was the perfect one to grab a high profile coach who flamed out and was looking for a fresh start.
  13. If true…this was an awesome rain on the parade post. Hahaha
  14. Was just gonna post this. If they get Steele that would be huge.
  15. I would think no news is good news. She is under contract. An extension with a large buyout would be nice. But no news is good news
  16. Segu and Williams have both announced they are moving on. Jack is out of eligibility.
  17. Defecto student section was right behind the benches on the wood bench style seats. And we stood and yelled for all 40 minutes. Def good times
  18. The inbounds to Bortz for the slam with about like 1.5 left. Was nuts. To me that season was the start of everything. We turned things around that year and I remember the sea of blue game against Kent state. And of course winning a first round tournament game at home. And of course the heartbreaker to Ohio.
  19. Oats found the cheat code for bench production. Maybe something Whitesell should’ve done with Mballa for example. But again, Whitesell is more of a player coach than a drill sergeant.
  20. I agree there have been some bad shooting performances. Wisconsin today was like 1-17 from 3. Yes the game has changed a lot. But look at some of the teams in the sweet 16. Nova, Texas Tech, Houston, Providence…all have culture and an identity. All play hard defense and hound the glass. Then you have your obvious 1 seeds. I’ve been impressed by Iowa state’s defensive abilities. And if the Miami score holds up, they too play scrappy in your face defense. Notice a theme here. To your point about bad shooting, if you play defense you will go far. UB needs its defensive identity back. Furthermore, Akron won the MAC because they were the better defensive team.
  21. I think playing in a better structure, a pro structure will take Williams game to another level. I can see him in the G League.
