  1. I will pass. My coaching experience is limited to one high school hockey game. My team was in last place. In the last game of the season I was asked to coach the team because none of the regular coaches could make the game. The team was in last place and we beat a team that needed the win to clinch the regular season title. We won 6-5 with a goal in the last 10 seconds. I then had the good sense to retire undefeated.
  2. This was raised on page 1 of the thread, so I think we have come full circle.
  3. As someone who has been donating, mostly to football, but to all sports in lower amounts, I do not care what the record is when it comes to donating. I have seen winless seasons and a Top 25 season, the final result has never impacted donating. I am more concerned with graduating students with useful degrees than with winning. I also have never called for the firing of a coach. In my opinion, that is not the role on a donor, at a place like UB, and should not be anywhere else.
  4. I think Canisus is closer to St. Francis (NY) than UB
  5. Until they have no cash to pay the income taxes on the free flights.
  6. I do not know, FDU knocked off Purdue with an average height of 6'1".
  7. They aren't all like this, but this is a possession from the Final Four a couple of years ago. Every one of those guys can shoot the three (except number 4), but they pass up multiple shots to get a better one and the ball doesn't stop moving. So basically a variation on Red Holtzman's offense with the Knicks, hit the open man.
  8. Saban tries to gently roll the bus backwards. https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/2023/03/nick-saban-on-wrong-place-wrong-time-comment-that-was-strictly-about-our-program.html?utm_campaign=alabamacrimsontide_sf&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
  9. As someone who went to the 1972 NIT, it was already a tournament of also rans. The NCAA only took one team per conference. Which meant there were some very good teams in the NIT. It was the regular season champion as only the ACC had a conference tournament then. By the time that UCLA had its long run, the NCAA had over taken the NIT in prestige.
  10. Winning the NIT in 1977 was not winning a national championship. The 1977 national champion was Marquette.
  11. As opposed to Winfield and Stone with the women this year.
  12. Stephanie Reid won the NBL Championship. She either won it early this morning or tonight. https://www.espn.com/nbl/story/_/id/35915997/wnbl-grand-final-townsville-fire-surge-title-grounding-flyers
  13. Oats was just thrown under the bus by Nick Saban. One of the Alabama football players was arrested on drug and weapon charges. Here is Saban's quote: https://www.on3.com/college/alabama-crimson-tide/news/police-report-reveals-tony-mitchell-attempted-evade-officers-while-traveling-141-mph-prior-arrest/
  14. You are right the St.Francis (NY)games are not listed. They lost at St. Francis 0n 1-26-93 in OT.
  15. I will pass on a 70 year old with sex and recruiting scandals in the past. He has had NCAA issues and violations at Hawai'i, and a vacated national title at Louisville.
  16. Women's basketball played them in the early 1990s. I was at the game.

  18. No coach will take a job with a two year contract or a longer contract that say win or be fired after two years.
  19. I have know Adam Cohen for years. I do not know why he would give up a successful law practice to become a basketball coach. https://cohenandsiegellaw.com/attorneys/adam-s-cohen/
  20. Really, a Justin Moss repeat? I do not think so.
