Yup theyve competed on almost every possession. Offense has gone pretty much cold which will probably take the Bulls out of it a bit.

Defense has maintained through the mini burst by JMU. Offense has gone a bit cold though. Just the way they halted that JMU quick run is nice to see.

The compete level is much better so far for sure.

I would agree the stadium does not deter me from going. Granted I live and work within a stonesthrow from the stadium. However I always catch at least 1 game per year without a thought to how bad my seat will be. But yes a nicer newer facility would certainly appeal to some. Its just definitely not keeping 10k people away.

To the first part, he still comes here because if you recall he didn't have any buzz or offers really at all. As far as staying, thats another thing. Although he didn't really have the buzz til his senior year (Junior year on the map)

From what I know, especially with that top girl, they are basically Instagram models at this point. I don't think any of their $$ are for their athletic ability TBH.

The one optic that was obvious right when we hired GH was his connections. NBA players and the likes of Jay Wright in the basketball world pulling for him. So it seemed he had all the right places to get edges on recruiting and exposure. I still expect that to shake out. People are getting a bit upset after each loss, understandably, but we definitely need to give GH time to see what hes got planned long term here.

Its unfortunate. Hate that its gone this way. I hated the transfer portal first, then this on top of it makes it very difficult. Unless Murchie or other locals want to throw down or we get another set of moneybag alumns, not sure what you can do. That being said though, talent still trickles down. There are only so many players that can get said money. Its really about how a team like UB can spend against similar conference schools.

I know the facts are we were 3-9 and 3-5 But they could have honestly won every MAC game they played. Definitely a weird year to digest. The defense played incredibly well. The offense could really not have been any worse. No idea how they weren't even middling. If they were at least that, they are 6-2 in the Mac.

Impressive. Really like what JMU has done in both Football and Basketball. I agree no question both sports should stay D1 here, its how they continue to grow them. I've always wanted the Bulls to go hard in D1 Hockey but that's a 20 years old argument Im jumping back into right now.

I agree. Easy to knee jerk on this game but there's enough talent to win some in the MAC

I said I wasn't going to care about results this year. I even thought 7-10 win season was possible. But this might be even a little worse than I expected. Is this why GH never got a real shot after all the years of being around success? I don't want to go to far on that front. I liked the optics around the GH hire and still do. Not going to give up this quick

Nice to see Javon playing well. And yes I remember going to some Rapids/Silverbacks etc games when they were here and guys like Battle and Duaney were on the roster. Good memories there. Might have to make it out to one of these.

Ill just add in quickly that I liked a lot of what I saw last night. FDU no way is a 300+ team. They returned almost the entire team that remembers what its like to beat a #1 seed. They don't just forget that. They are all better for that experience. UB was supposed to be all over the map this season and in fact before the game I was feeling a possible loss in this fasion. That FDU team probably couldn't wait to start playing Bball again this year after last season. Tons of confidence and a few of their guys certainly built on that. As for us, its been said by many but really liked Smith's game. If hes a vacuum like that all year with the added range and touch, we have a stud on our hands all season. Adams is who he is but Id say he looked even more under control. Also positive for this season.

Welcome to the board. JK obviously. I just ignore at this point. Even in our glory years, just recently, people complained every game. Im very excited about GHIII and watching him grow with the program. Whitsell was a status quo type hire and probably sufficient for MAC competitiveness. No bad things to say about him. He was him. And the bad optics of the early hiring process, Ive forgotten about those almost immediately mostly because the GHIII hire had a lot of things that looked good on paper. Couldn't argue with any of it. People are always going to bitch about coaching, losing to a "kenpom made up ranking bs team", the early season student section. They can enjoy doing that... But all I came out of the FDU game with was hope and excitement to see what they look like next game. If anything they looked better than I expected.

I live around the corner and plan on popping in at Half Time. Was hoping to catch the first 10 minutes or so here. Also Im looking forward to some CBBALL! Expectations are pretty much nil this season. Ive been a fan of the hire since it happened now to see what it all looks like. With the roster being what it is Im not going to get to high low and wins losses.
