NC_UBfan
Home is where the wins are for this team and hoping the streak continues. Looking to see more of an effort to score from both Rana and Ogden whether its from set plays, transition or read and react sets. On the defensive side better communication, Watson can not get caught on switch with a post that action killed us the last 4-5min of the Drexel game. The team has been progressing in a positive direction during non-conference. There is less indecisiveness in the half court set and the freshman are playing more free. Should be another W headed towards conference play.

promotherobot
We're barely keeping pace with a one-win NEC school.

UBinMD
#10 is really getting under their skin, she positions herself well and has a soft touch. She doesn’t look like she should be good, but she has those skills that people underestimate.

Davis should be playing a lot more than she is. Decent defender, great rebounder.

Lewis-Williams has had some tough foul calls on her. Her on the bench has been a problem for us. Ogden having another off game so she’s been on the bench a lot too. UBinMD
Well that was really bad. Watson is good, but she doesn't take over games when someone needs to. I don't agree with that last foul, but that wasn't the difference maker. Hopefully learn and move on.

If the freshman was able to stay out of foul trouble the game would have been different she is that impactful. The communication on defense was bad. Getting out hustled for 50/50 balls was worse. How the ball was being turned over has got to be driving coach nuts just careless not valuing the position. Nine games in this team leaders are clearly Weston, Lewis-Williams and Rana period. They have to set the tone from the tip to the buzzer. I’m still very positive about the program and the prospects of making some real noise in the conference tournament. promotherobot
Hapless is a word that comes to mind. Maybe if we played more D3/NAIA school, something more our level? How bizarre a state flagship U can't field a competitive team in the big 3 sports.

That is not actually fair considering they did great St. Bonaventure,Niagara and Canisius. The only lopsided loss was to Stony Brook which is very good. A fair criticism would be the lack of cohesive half court execution or prolonged scoring droughts or lapses of defensive communication or intensity. All of which are fixable with the understanding the team is relying on crucial contributions from a freshman Lewis-Williams starting and two freshmen Davis and Lopez coming off the bench. Once they really get comfortable balancing school and basketball this team will be different. Until then there will be a learning curve highs and lows

Nah no affiliation just making great points! But seriously the team is actually not bad they have a NET ranking of 232/360. The two bad losses are Drexel and Le Moyne had every opportunity to win so blame can be laid at poor execution by the players and poor adjustments by the coach. The other two losses Stony Brook NET 63 and Old Dominion NET 100 are very good mid major programs. Unfortunately there is not a lot of metrics out there for the women’s game so all I really have to go by is NET. Realistically the goal should be finish top 3 in conference and make noise in the conference tournament.

My concern is Ogden being in a total funk the last three games and against Lemoyne looked like she did not want to be on the floor. Their depth inside when Ogden is a non factor is bad. After Davis they have nothing. Graig and Johnson are playing like it is a football game and the Swede has no quickness so they will be killed on the boards in the MAC. Burke does not seem to help when she just starts yelling at the players instead of coming up with plays and strategies to help this team. Again we will soon find out when MAC play starts as all the teams will devise ways to stop Watson from driving to the basket.

She has been playing real tight these last three losses hope the break helps. The rebounding and 50/50 balls has got to be extremely frustrating for Burke because that’s just pure effort which you can’t coach that’s a pride thing. Crazy that an under sized post in Davis another freshman is out playing the upperclassmen post players.

One other mention that as we were watching the game they were being out hustled really the whole game which should not happen after the last two games and being at home.

Massey has a ranking system too, they're a little bit higher than NET but still in low 200's. Yesterday's game dropped UB out of the 100's. https://masseyratings.com/cbw2024/979
