  1. Then shame on us. Recruiting isn’t a one man job. I’ve read countless tweets about coaches doing visits while having a game during the week. Read one tweet the other day that DePaul’s coach went out on the trail the day after they lost to us. Recruiting has become a 24/7/365 job.

  2. If we're not recruiting at the moment it's not a huge deal imo. We have 12 of 13 scholarships for next year accounted for at the moment. Everybody just had ~20% more work put on their plate in the middle of the season. The video coordinator is sitting on the bench at games which I don't recall seeing done in the past. The DOBO was doing the scout for the next game in Charleston which is not really in his current job description. I wouldn't mind if we sat on the scholarship and waited to see which big men are transferring in the spring, that (or something similar) may have been the plan all along

  3. I am relative newcomer to recruiting calendar. I gather this time of year is typically quiet. I did see that jucorecruiting.com has their top 100. https://www.jucorecruiting.com/2020-junior-college-basketball-player-rankings-top-100 The top big men on their list who do not already have a commitment are: #6 Tyron McMillian - Kilgore College (RS-Fr / 6'10" / 230 lb PF) - He has offers from St. John's, LSU and Arizona St. Through 11 games with Kilgore this year he has following per game stats: 10.5 points / 4.9 rebounds / 1.4 assists / 0.8 blocks. His rebounding / block totals seem a little low for such a big guy. Not really a 3pt guy. #16 DeAndre Pinckney - Broward College (So / 6'8" / 220 lb PF) - He has offers from a lot of teams. Through 8 games with Broward this year he has following per game stats: 18.8 points / 9.6 rebounds / 1.3 assists / 1.9 blocks. His rebounding / block totals seem better and has shot some 3's - shooting 5-10 on the season (a little better than 1 three try per game) #24 JD Muila - Indian Hills CC (So / 6'8" / ? lb F) - One source I looked did not show any offers. Through 13 games with Indian Hills CC this year he has following per game stats: 7.6 points / 7.9 rebounds / 1.3 assists / 0.6 blocks. His rebounding seem ok. He does not shoot 3's On paper, De'Andre Pinckney intrigues me... was curious if anyone has more information on any of these three and any chance we may make offers to these individuals. I also wanted to point out that Kedrian Johnson and Vince Cole, who we offered but lost out to another team are #4 / #5 on the list.

  4. Paul VI's second game was a another win over a nationally ranked team, Word of God. Freeman was a huge part of the win with 16 points. Really showed off his release in this one.

  5. JoJo Freeman has played some very high level games early in the season at the Hoopfest in DC. His Paul VI squad took down #2 in the country IMG Academy in a nice upset. He only scored 6 points on 2-10 shooting, but he played the third most minutes on a team with a 5* senior, a 5* junior (who picked up a Duke offer after this game), and a 5* soph. He's #24 in the video below which is a full game highlight (drains a super quick catch/release 3 at the 7:40 mark). Great to see him playing in one of the most intense and talent-laden high school games of the year. You can see why he didn't get the high-major looks (size for his skill set, quickness), but he should be an absolutely devastating shooter at the MAC level.

  6. Love seeing this level of dedication. Just the type of guy you want on the team.

  7. Kid is put together, looks like a hell of an athlete. This work is probably helping him average double digit rebounds as a 6-foot guard.

  8. I was thinking this after whoever posted the top 30 list for Pangos above in this thread. I'm not familiar with all of the names on the list but a lot of them are the top 5 star guys. #236 nationally seems a little low to be in the company of those guys.

  9. Well.....I was going to let this lie...because this nice recognition for Lance, and it is, make no mistake about it...However, this was based almost entirely on his time and accomplishments at Whitewater than UB... BUT...now Ive received an email this morning from the Blue and White fund, referring to this list, panhandling for donations....$78 donation gets you entered into a contest to have lunch with Lance at Santora's...so it begs the question, are we trying to inflate his UB accomplishments more than what they actually are and at the same time open the door for Lance to conceivably ask for a "new" contract. I like Lance, he's been good for UB, but I also think theres a lot of room for his own improvement. I just dont want to get lost in looking at what he's accomplished so far and rewarding things that 1. didnt even happen here or 2. as I said, rewarding for inflated accomplishments because of "how it used to be" at UB.... Lance has gotten UB three straight Bowl eligible seasons and a MAC East title....great....you know who else has made a living getting teams bowl eligible year in year out, and MAC Easts with out ever getting beyond that...Frank Solich....Go find him on this list....(hint: he isnt)

  10. Guy I've posted more than 7,000 times here... I've not posted a lot this past year because, well, busy... I'm glad you're president of the kevin fan club and all but if you're going to say "do you ever do anything here" maybe, just maybe, you might want to look at my posting history.

  11. I’m just gonna add in it’s pretty pathetic going all the way back to what was said by someone on here in 2015. We’re all fans of the same team here so cut the cutesy high school shit

  12. We also don't need people who publish things, and fancy themselves journalist to run down the kids wearing blue and white just so that they can live out some fantasy they are the next Bucky or Sully.. My point was not to make a personal attack on the man but to give some background in the fact he will always run down one or more of our student athletes when they struggle a bit.
