  1. I disagree that UB was “widely considered one of the worst if not the worst program in FBS”. Sure...maybe during the first half of the 2000s, but they just started in FBS in 1999. When Quinn was there they were mediocre, at best. But they were certainly not “one of the worst” programs in FBS during the Quinn era and he didn’t leave behind a Superfund site for Leipold. On the other hand, Kansas has sucked for 60 years, save for a brief reprieve during the Mangino years. Lance certainly was successful at UB and has taken them to new heights. I am sorry he left, but let’s not pretend he did miracles at UB.

  2. Quinn still takes the full record for 2014 and since we started FBS we were widely considered one of it not the worst program in FBS. We had a blip here and there but Lance elevated our overall program. Now, that doesn’t mean Kansas isn’t awful. That said, under Miles they played a ton of very young guys. Who knows what’s ahead for them (and I don’t care really).

  4. Quinn was 20-36 when LL took over the program in 2015. In 2013, two years before LL started, Quinn led the Bulls to 2nd in the East, an 8-4 regular season record and a bowl game. So...to recap... UB in 2013...8 wins and a bowl game. UB in 2014...5 wins in 11 games (blame KSU)...Quinn fired before the season ends. Kansas...since 2010, the most wins they have had in a season was 3. They have finished 10th in the conference 9 out of the last 10 years (they finished 9th in the other season). in conclusion, comparing what LL is taking over now relative to what he took over at UB...there is no comparison. The data above tells the story. I would think that Kansas is probably the worst job in P5...or certainly on the very short list of worst P5 jobs at the moment. UB, when LL took over, was a middling MAC team in a middling G5 conference.
