ODU has a lot of size so Coach B has got to have the rebounding corrected. Back screens in the half court and transition defense was a lability at times, probably from a lack of communication I noticed watching the game. I liked the offensive concepts w/Ogden and Watson to get open shots also the staggered screens to get Lewis-Williams down hill. Some of the execution on pick n rolls was just off so was a few of the post entry passes. If they can get Ogden and Johnson going early along with a repeat performances by Watson, Rana, Lewis-Williams and Davis we'll be in good shape.
Rather than dropping down in divisions, wouldn't the proper response be to fix the issues. If a teacher has a bunch of students failing tests, they don't make the test easier, they figure out a way to teach the students better so that they pass the tests.
Not sure we need updates on the 204th ranked player in 2024 committing honestly. This kid is likely nothing special, but Hodgson has always been able to recruit and I don't expect that to change. I think we'll get our share of 3 star guys too.
The MAC / SB challenge kicks off tonight with Ohio vs Troy. Per Kenpom Ohio should have the advantage. Here are all the games with the Kenpom rankings.
Games that are intriguing are JMU vs Kent, and So Miss vs Akron. Bowling Green vs Arkansas St could be interesting as well. I really like this arrangement - and hope we get some good games foreseeable future.
I think he is referring to having an entire signed recruiting class and then a few months later, have no recruiting class at all paired with loss of the entire assistant coaching staff and a general air of a toxic environment floating around.
Laquill didn't have a great start to his Arkansas St. career. Came off the bench, 14 minutes, 3 points on 1-5 shooting (1-2 from 3), 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 foul.
