Think about the Game 1's that a lot of P5 teams played....a lot of them did not shine. It takes a while to get the rust off and the rhythm going against "live" competition. On balance I thought UB looked very good; they come away with a road "W", and now get to stay home for a while and beat Miami. The seas did not part for the scoop and score(s), nor the pick six. Guys had to be in the right place and make plays. Great opening win for UB against a foe they have enjoyed limited success with, imo.

Nice article. Thanks for posting this Brook. Sometimes you have to see the numbers framed in a manner such as in this article, to appreciate (and be reminded) just how far UB has come as a football program. Kudos to Lance.

Assuming that Bo makes the team (the numbers game on "international players" hurts a lot of guys chances); and also assuming that the CFL plays; and also assuming that the border is open; and assuming they allow fans to attend the games, August 7th would be a great game to have a slug of you guys come to Hamilton. I'd try to arrange a pre-game event.....I bet Dar would even bring a cake. After all, August 7th is BJ Thomas', Sidney Crosby's, Kyler Murray's, Jalen Hurts', Carl Switzer (deceased - better known as Alfalfa) and my birthday. Likely a few others too... 🙂 I

The more I see of other stadiums, including FCS, the more I really am embarrassed about UB's scoreboard. But more importantly, I'm getting older; I just can't see anything much on the damn thing that we have now. And it has nothing to do with beverage at our tailgate.... We had ADMA come by our tailgate early on Friday, selling 50/50 tickets...students were all home for Thanksgiving. Last comment to him was, "let's get a win and go bowling". His reply, "ya, hopefully somewhere warm...and where you need a passport"! Was he hinting, hoping, or chumming?

See where Mizzou is out...and the word now is that at least one 5-7 team will qualify for a bowl. May not be correct, but have seen it from SI and also on Twitter.

Not a hard fact, but a guideline: the closer a game is played to New Years Day, the higher the payout.

Which has about a 25% chance of happening....so not likely, but possible.

I love Black Friday games. We get to our hotel on Thanksgiving; Dar and daughter go shopping for the rest of the day/night; I watch football on tv; we go to the game the next day and watch UB beat Bowling Green....was fun last year in Mich-Ohio; with be great again in Buffalo-Amherst this year! Don't think I share your view that many, if any, 6-6 teams stay home this year.....in fact, I'd say there is as good a chance that 1 or 2, 5-7's sneak in. Guess we'll know Sooner (no bias) than later!

I actually haven't. I spent my working career driving corporations forward and being treated very well by airlines, hotels, and schmoozers-generally. Then I retired and started to have fun. I have since been to every FBS stadium; all 50 states in your Union; met unlimited number of outstandingly caring and warm people; and stayed at $75/night motels when I could get them...eaten at Denny's and IHOP...and enjoyed life beyond comprehension. Sad that people still think, or imply, that having access to riches (of sorts) really matters.....it doesn't. And "yes", I have a closet full of those t-shirts.

New Trivia question: 1) who cares about BUGS; and 2) how much do we beat them by on Friday, when I freeze my ass off in a seat with inferior sight lines to the seats I had, before ADDW took my seats away without a kissmybottom or howdy-dowdy!
