  1. I’m also aiding to the detailing of the thread but hey I live in Poughkeepsie and I follow UB lol. I went to UB though I just found it funny this stinky city got mentioned lol. While I agree most big schools (especially with major football programs) use their state I think using New York would just never catch on. Buffalonians are too proud of being from Buffalo and before you expand to the whole state you need the city behind you. There are a few teams that use cities or other names like Purdue, Baylor, and Miami that have big followings and I think if there’s enough success behind the teams people will latch on. Although it kinda pains me I agree we could change the At to Of and it would make things easier.. As for BSU I hope they go on a little run and get back into the top 100 in the NET. They’re just outside right now and would be beneficial for the MAC as a whole since the conference is having a good year
  2. Yea this is a big one. I have an event to go to and I’ll prob just catch the second half but I really hope we continue our defensive momentum from ball st. I’ve been hearing a lot of announcers lately say that “defense travels”. We do what we can defensively and hit some more shots and we should be able to take this one. We can’t discount BG though and this could very well come down to FTs so hopefully we get it together I say UB wins by 8
  3. Also in regards to NYC it’s not that they aren’t college sports fans. It’s just such a conglomeration of people from all over that there’s fans from every school. I don’t think one school could ever take the whole NYC market but saying that they just aren’t college fans isn’t right. They just already have their teams and go to their teams bars to watch all the games.
  4. I don’t think the BE would be a good fit for us. We don’t fit that mold of religious college. We are a larger university kind of feel. Also definitely don’t want to go independent in football. We would never be able to schedule anyone and I’m all for conference championships. I always hated ND because of this. No conference championship game and no conference games just doesn’t match the level of playing teams week in and week out like the Big10 and SEC. There are teams in those conferences that may have terrible seasons but live for that one rivalry game to come out with the upset and it happens. Although our ultimate goal should be Big10 with location and style of school there is no way we get scooped up by them anytime soon and no way it would happen directly from the MAC. Although our basketball team has been on a pretty good streak the last 5ish years and I do love alumni arena (despite starting the thread earlier about if alumni could/should be expanded) our football team and facilities are nowhere close to Big10 acceptable. This year was overall great for our football team but the letdown of the MACC and the bowl game and the fact that we still have NEVER even won a single bowl game don’t bode well. We need to build consistency in winning seasons and actually start winning MACCs and bowl games. Yes this season is a good start and the field house should be great but the stadium is also terrible and typically empty. First we need consistency to fill the seats and second we need to get rid of the track, lower the field and build a lower level of stands, and create permanent stands on the south side to help give it an enclosed feel. Again, good start, but we are a long ways away from any of that. Big12 is interesting but for the same reasons as the Big10 we would never fit the bill yet and it would be even more travel costs than the Big10 I think. Id really like to move to the AAC first. It’s a definite step way up from the MAC. Although travel costs would go way up I think our level of competition would help offset it a little bit. Plus it wouldn’t be the weirdest addition geographically and I think the quality of teams (although definitely better than us) aren’t terribly far off. Our football facilities would still be behind but even just taking the track out and making permanent seating on the south end (even if the capacity drops) could really improve things. Removing the track doesn’t really get anyone closer but it would just look so much better. I don’t hate the east and west grandstands, just wish we could put some blue paint all over it to make it look less blah. How much could that really cost?? Finally, I swear the grandstands are designed ready to add another layer above if ever needed. I could never find anything about it but I swear the main supports extend higher and totally look like another level could be built on top. That’s my way more than 2 cents
  5. I either didn’t know or remember this. Thanks that makes sense
  6. Wait is this something new? Because I remember Temple and UMASS both being football only
  7. #22 Miss. St. loses to unranked Alabama on the road by 4
  8. Texas takes down 11kansas. UVA squeaked it out on the road in OT by 1 but nonetheless a loss for #23. Some more upsets potentially brewing tonight
  9. Well that didn’t feel like a great game...shooting was terrible. What happened to our 3s? Not panic time for Harris yet but damn he was cold. Either way I’ll take a 24 point win. Now let’s work on our FTs before BG
  10. Nice job students. The sound and energy is instantly better. It’s great
  11. Happens to me here and there but not super frequently. I just can’t look at my phone as the feed usually gets behind a little and the espn update for half and final are usually pretty accurate
  12. Yea that’s what I figured too. In that case it’s shouldn’t be a terribly long recovery. Hope he’s back soon without rushing it
  13. So are you guys saying that Nevada should be ranked somewhere near us? I’d say a loss to a now 10th ranked @marquette and a 2 pt loss to a Q2 @NIU team at the buzzer is way better than one terrible loss by 27 to a UNM who has a record of 8-7...
  14. I’m feeling a big win tomorrow too. Ball state won’t be any pushover but alumni should be rocking, we are still ranked top 20, it’s time to give the crowd a good show. Anybody know exactly what’s wrong with graves? Sucks he won’t be good to go but I’d rather he get healthy because we will definitely need him down the line. As Dooley said this is a great time to get those younger guys minutes. It’s not that they’re bad but they’re young and the better they can get will really help out our depth and take us to new heights
  15. That’s an insane jump for Purdue. Too much if you ask me but they should be ranked. MSU not moving is a joke. Love Marquette in the top 10! Still think Nevada is overrated. They moved down 1 but I don’t think they are top 10. The rest I can live with haha
  16. Awesome. That’s an appropriate ranking. Let’s get at it this week
  17. It was a humbling moment where I literally had no idea what was supposed to be done. But yea and the foul definitely came before the time ran out too
  18. Idk where osterman had us last week and I know it’s nothing new to us but it would just be frustrating if buffalo moved down 11 spots for a 2 point loss on the road against a Q2 team while Nevada stays in the top 10 after their abomination of a loss. I guess we’ll find out soon enough though. Had to get it off my chest
  19. Can you explain this rule to me? I truly didn’t know what should happen. I thought he got 2 shots because he was in the act of shooting so the bonus wouldn’t matter and clearly the ball was still in his hands as the time ran out. What’s the appropriate call for this and why? Still should’ve made the 2 FTs though..
  20. Great article. Another huge week this week. Let’s go out and prove ourselves again. The Kent win was a great start
  21. FWIW 8 or 9 is going to go down to. Also let's go cuse. *barfs*
  22. Should be interesting to see where we end up on Monday. I say with a 9pt win at Kent we should def still be ranked. We’ll see how brutal the mid major bias is though. Let’s hope for some more top 25 losses this weekend. If it was up to me I would drop buffalo to prob 18. I’m expecting us to be 22
  23. Wow this is fantastic. I expect 3/8 to sell out fairly quickly. Last game of the season and both teams doing great in conference so far
  24. Oh yea, and we should shoot FTs till our hands bleed at practice
