  1. They should release the seats before at least 24-48 hours any game assuming they haven't been sold as part of a season ticket package. I totally understand the desire to sell season tickets. For one, they include women's games. Secondly it locks in seat sales for the entire season rather than a game here or there. And lastly the additional revenue only enhances the bottom line and what resources they have available to support the program, which among other things will help retain Nate.
  2. FWIW, a friend and colleague of mine with no connection to UB, but a long times hoops fan just bought 4 season tickets. I'm not sure how many more season tickets they have from last year, but I'd bet the number is pretty significant.
  3. Both polls. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings
  4. They got credit for defeating SIU on the road after beating WVU. I perused the voting and there remains about 10 AP voters who did not include them in the top 25 while about an equal number had them between 15 and 20ish.
  5. Alumni was designed to a multi purpose facility to accommodate multiple sports. Like the football stadium if that were not the case the stands would have been much closer to the court/field which would have enhanced the atmosphere. Until they build an IM type building nothing much will change. The key is sustained success and filling the seats already there.
  6. They had a tremendous opportunity at Ohio. One to win the MAC East, bury Ohio (always a good thing) and likely a top 25 ranking. Army is the new #23, so it would have been very close. With the drubbing at Ohio I am surprised they got any votes.
  7. Too bad Hemphill let her teammates down by not meeting her academic obligations. They could have used her and certainly need her to be the best version of themselves. Kudos to the team for playing hard and making a strong go of it. And same to CD! Another impressive performance on the national stage.
  8. Not surprising. Word is that he wanted to return to UB but Nate would have none of that. Good decision as are most of his.

  10. Having great student attendance is one of the most appealing aspects of attending a college basketball game or watching one on television. The problem at UB is that the students are away for a 1/3 of the home schedule. We’ll see how student attendance is during break. Typically it is very sparse.
  11. Terrible game aside from opening drive. What troubles me is that once they fell behind their compete level went way down just like Army game.
  12. Andy Katz tweet, “This win has major significance since it came after winning at West Virginia. Proves no let down. Team is locked in. Bulls were on the road for two and got both.”
  13. Great to see all the fans from yesteryear coming out and enjoying UB athletics finest days. Great stuff! Stay active. We need all you supporting this program so we can retain Nate. Go Bulls!
  14. Disagree. What voters will take away is that Kentucky struggled mightily AND at Rupp Arena. The Bulls will get full marks for going on the road and getting a big win under the circumstances. There a lot of writers who didn’t even include UB in their top 25. That will change and I fully expect the voters who had them ranked from #7 to #25 will move them up the board. Take all that into context and something around #20 sounds right.
  15. This is interesting. Check it out. https://collegepolltracker.com/basketball/grid/2018/week-2
  16. BIG game! SIU is good, real good. That's why SIU/UB did a home and home. No one wants to play either on their home floor especially the marquee programs.
  17. This is a real testament to Nate Oats and all the hard work he has done and under some terrible circumstances. Remember, Hurley leaves, players leave, Moss gets thrown out of school and worst of all Crystal is diagnosed with life threatening cancer. Despite all that he goes to NCAA that year and 3 out of four. He recruits good people who work hard, are unselfish team players and represent the university with aplomb. I hope there is a huge crowd at the next game and we give them a standing ovation to start the game. On a different note, I wonder if Hurley wants to move up the college ladder and return to UB should Nate get pilfered by a larger school.
  18. https://footballmaven.io/bills/college/nate-oats-vision-for-buffalo-growing-hoops-program-like-gonzaga-butler-L0Z9RLDS8kWypYc3wKkfyQ/ Bucky's article is consistent with what I have heard and know. Oats wants to stay in Buffalo and continue UB's ascent to the top of the mid major ranks. It is my understanding as the article says Nate and Crystal are extremely happy in Buffalo. Their kids love it. So assuming the university maintains their commitment to the program and Oats' vision it is very likely he stays for the forseeable future.
  19. Don’t make too many firm assessments early in the year. Harris struggled early last year and many questioned what impact he might have. By conference play one could legitimately say he was our most important player. With that caveat, Segu was excellent last night. Good hands, great handle, excellent court vision, surprisingly good shooter and stealthy. Opponents with bigger guards will try and take advantage him down low so Nate will have to make sure the team is aware that he’ll need some D help there. But he is a great addition. Williams wasn’t much of a factor last night. But his pedigree is high so I expect him to get better and better as he gets more comfortable. The retyrning players looked ready to roll.
