  1. If the coach is McCollum then I see Jack becoming a MONSTER player in that system.
  2. Out of curiosity, what happened in this year's tourney with the early exit? Did So Nazarene just catch fire at the right time? Looks like they shot like 60% in that game.
  3. That's sort of my question. If he is this good why hasn't anyone come calling? Or has he turned down offers?
  4. The good news is that time will tell which side was right. Over the next few years we'll get to see what Hodgson is made of to determine if we made the right call or completely effed this thing up. Let's just hope whoever we end up hiring does a better job because there will be naysayers complaining for years if we can't compete to his Ark St team.
  5. LOVE the idea of bringing in McCollum. We could have a couple years of growing pains since it's a huge shift from our current philosophy but I'm pretty confident his structure with D1 athletes would cause fits for any team in the country.
  6. Whitesell wasn't exactly an alter boy there as well given that one of our players stabbed a rival in his 2nd year as coach.
  7. Funny that we're talking about Zid posting his dunks on social media after losses and 2 years ago we were talking about Graves doing the same thing. Sounds like the hallmark of the Whitesell era. Loads of talent but no discipline or team mentality - a stark contrast to what Oats built.
  8. We better have something signed if we're waiting for a coach to exit the tourney. What happens if it's Cohen and Xavier manages to get out of this weekend? We're just supposed to wait 3 weeks for a coach who is getting more valuable with each win? This is a gamble.
  9. The Spectrum is reporting that AD Alnutt decided to fire Whitesell immediately rather than wait a month for the buyout to drop by $100k. I don't think you do that unless you have some names in mind that you want to jump on before other jobs open up. I am glad he pulled the trigger and opted against frugality. I hope an announcement comes soon.
  10. Imagine what will happen though if our choice strikes out and BH wins some games at Ark St. AD needs to pick a good one here.
  11. Point made but Colgate averages fewer than a thousand people to their own home games. They aren't a great example.
  12. "The more the merrier". Who do you recommend we pull in as fans since this town is obviously enamored with Pro Sports? Maybe a campaign to reach out to the huge alumni base that exists outside of WNY? Like a campaign to win over those folks that reside in the fourth largest state in the country yet don't have a major public school to root for? Like, an initiative of some sort to gain support for our Bulls across New York?
  13. Want to know a quick way to alienate fans? Have your Semis, Quarters, and Championship game all on separate TV networks... way to go, MAC. What an effing joke!
  14. I eagerly await April 6 to reiterate my comments from a year ago.
  15. Just think where we would be right now if we had somehow managed to keep the team in the top 50-100 the past 4 years given the mess happening in Syracuse. This was such a swing and a miss by the administration.
  16. 2015-2019: 11-1 in MAC Tourneys with 4 championships. 2020-2023: 2-4 in MAC Tourneys with 0 Championships and 3 first round exits.
  17. Akron is in the double bonus and we haven't attempted a Free Throw yet. This conference is a gd joke when it comes to games in Cleveland.
  18. So far this is the worst MAC Tournament I've ever seen.
  19. I'll admit I haven't watched much of the girls this year but is the gameplan typically give the ball to Stone until she turns it over?
  20. What would a recruit from Texas/Florida prefer? A school that averages less than their high school in snowy conditions in a town that doesn't GAF? Perhaps Danny White was doing it for a reason despite once again having this entire backwards town against him.
  21. Ignore this... and why can't you delete posts?
  22. Most of our Alums leave WNY and UB does very little to keep them engaged with their alma mater beyond sending brochures or calling asking for money. I live in New England and I can't even join the Alumni Association Chapter in Boston because the link on our website just leads to a disabled Facebook page. The entire site is devoted to the theme "Boldly Buffalo" so it's obvious they are only focusing their attention locally. The school abandons you the second you leave WNY so perhaps that contributes to the alums also abandoning the school.
  23. I find it hard to believe there's no incremental cost in terms of opex for playing games at an NFL stadium. Also, the 26k at Ralph Wilson was primarily driven by the success of the team that year, not the fact that it was in an NFL stadium. Both UB and BGSU were 8-3 at the start of that game and battling for a spot in the MAC title against a top-25 NIU team. The Bills were not a playoff team and we had a super star in Khalil Mack projecting to go early in the 1st round. We were the best ticket in town and it showed at home as well since we averaged 22k in attendance at UB Stadium too. I'm not saying there couldn't be lift from playing in an NFL stadium but the Ralph Wilson game didn't really show us much promise given that it was only 3k more than our season average at home. Now, if we did 40k in that game then we may have a selling point.
  24. C'mon, PTR. You will obviously die on this hill but our athletic department is unwilling to pay the money to play games there.
