  1. Hope he isn’t in the portal in March.
  2. Only difference in this game is the garbage reffing. Home job for sure but not surprising.
  3. Also, I'm thrilled that I finally achieved the rank of "Community Regular". I've only been posting on ubfan consistently for 18 effing years.
  4. Pretty sure Boals took Ohio to the tourney and knocked off UVA 2 years ago. Had Whitesell done that with the insane talent he inherited for his first 3 seasons, nobody would be calling for his head after losing multiple times to midmajors by 30.
  5. Who went on radio silence when we won? Our win over SBU had the most posts for any game this season. The Howard loss was a close second but what do you expect when you lose to a team ranked in the 300's? We lost by a billion points to another midmajor in Tulane and we barely had 2 pages of posts? Keep guessing.
  6. The expectations for football are completely unreasonable. We have arguably the worst stadium in FBS, no recruiting grounds, no history, we're in the worst state system (SUNY) for funding, and we're up against a rabid Bills fanbase in the second smallest NFL TV market in the country. Basketball, on the other hand, has the ability to compete. There's a proud history of college basketball in WNY, solid recruiting grounds, our arena is decent, and we were building a strong brand thanks to Oats. We're still up against SUNY's funding shit-show but football is consuming most of those resources. Right now, it's far more upsetting for me to see the basketball team getting blown out by mediocre competition in the 4th year of a ho-hum head coach than it is to see a football coach in his first full year go 6-6 and end up in a bowl game, even if the potential was there to do much more.
  7. Tulane - Kenpom #96. I'm not sure how they're ranked that high as they really haven't beaten anyone. Their best win was over #190 Rhode Island and the others were all against very weak competition. They lost close games to WKU (#110) and Fordham (#165) and played #85 Nevada tight until going on a 3+ minute stretch without scoring right at the end of the game. I don't know much more about them. Anyone know how to watch this game? It looks like theirs a link to stream it on the tournament website but it's broken. Is that the only way to watch? Will they be charging for that stream?
  8. "We"? You've never given him $hit even when he was coaching like $hit! lol I'll recognize a job well done and give him kudos for how the team has played thus far. The Howard game was a joke but otherwise they've shown they can keep up with some pretty good teams. They have a ton of talent but lack pure shooting ability (outside of Jones) so it's good to see so many fast break points to pump up our shooting %. Its also good to see the old hard hat mentality on defense since it has been missing for a couple of years.
  9. Starting with a fresh roster of unfamiliar players every single year is good for no one.
  10. Outspoken blowhards are the new heroes of the world so none of this Deion stuff is surprising. We’ll see if the Colorado boosters have any cash left over after his salary to buy up some big name recruits. He only won at JSU because he paid for far superior athletes for that level. I doubt he’ll dominate with equal talent to the competition.
  11. I would suggest you do the same considering you're the one flipping out over a fan's opinion on a message board based on the limited facts made available about this kid leaving his team midseason. Again, your obvious anger is misdirected.
  12. Thank you for your 2 posts ripping on legacy ubfan members who are only reporting on the facts that were made public. If you have more to make public, do so and change the narrative. If not, take your anger out on the coaches, not this site. You obviously don't understand what a fan forum is all about and you're not apt to find anything different at whatever school your kid ends up at. Good luck down the road.
  13. Put $50 on Akron to cover that insane 13.5 point giveaway and got the best of both worlds. The win and the money! Congrats on the win, boys. It wasn't much of a season but hopefully the bowl game will elevate some spirits and help maintain some of the roster for next year so we can build on it.
  14. 10 total yards on 4 drives at home against Akron... LOL! This is unbelievably bad so far.
  15. So far in this game I would blame Special Teams on the muffed punt/safety, the wide receivers for not being able to catch ANYTHING, and once again our defensive line getting absolutely no pressure.
  16. You're blaming Snyder for 2 dropped passes that hit our receivers square in the chest?
  17. Here's a total shocker. Fuqua gets the interception on the opening drive for Akron, takes it back to the 12 yard line, and then our offense goes 4 and out and turns it over on downs. Just typical this year.
  18. How are we favored by 13? Akron has had close losses to Liberty, BGSU, CMU, and EMU and they're coming off a blowout over NIU. We haven't exactly been crushing it.
  19. That and the University failing to spend any money to keep it going.
  20. Sounds like Jack Eichel syndrome. Subtraction by addition.
  21. I still don't understand what the hell happened in this game. We were up 24-10 with like 7 minutes left when I got into a car and drove into northern Maine where there is no internet. I figured we won and was feeling good about getting to a bowl game. It would've been a decent consolation and a nice turnaround from last year. Instead, I come back to civilization to find out we somehow lost in 2OTs. What the hell happened? And why are both our Basketball and Football teams completely unmotivated for the final 10 minutes of games? We seem to have talent but we lack consistency and heart. I don't think this team deserves a Bowl Game even if they win against Akron. We would have a 6-6 record with 5 of our wins coming against teams ranked below 100, 2 double digit 4th quarter leads blown against teams below 100, and an additional home loss to an FCS school ranked #140. I'll be happy for our players if they get a chance to play another game but this doesn't feel like a season to celebrate at all.
  22. THIS! If we could solve this then we wouldn't need the NYBI, however I found that every local kid I knew at UB was so attached to Buffalo Pro Sports that they couldn't care less about following UB. You solve this one and it won't matter if we alienate the rest of the state. As for the game, I'm glad we took care of business against a pretty bad Canisius squad. They live by the 3 and die by the 3 and our defense held them in check. More importantly, our Assist-to-Turnover ratio on offense was positive. That has only happened 3x this year aligning with our only 3 wins (Colgate, GMU, Canisius). Pass the ball, fellas! It works. I'm still worried that our ridiculous non-Conference SOS is going to lead to some downtrodden attitude come MAC play. 9 of our 11 nonconference games (excl. D3) are against teams currently in the top 130 of kenpom and the 2 easy games (Howard, Canisius) are now behind us. Our next 4 D1 games are against St Bona(#112), Tulane (#84), WVU(#29), and Mich St (#30) and they're all on the road except the Bonnies. December will be a defining month.
  23. UB and the MAC don't care about the fans, they care about the money. Hence the god awful decision to continue midweek Maction games. They're only playing this game because the vultures want the Bowl Revenue.
