Kent State has no one to blame but themselves. I watched the game, they came out hot. Then at the start of the second half they cut the deficit to one. Cry me a river…those players deserve to be reprimanded. You can’t do that. Plain and simple. And by that I mean have that video posted for the world to see. We all know trash talk is apart of basketball. And vulgar things are said both on the court and in the locker. But that’s where it has to stay.

I 100% agree with the take on the student turn out. For both the men and women. I don’t know how much of this was mask mandates (whatever), I know the men lost like 2 home games to COVID and there was an extra long winter break. But I hope next season is better. When alumni has student support it really makes a difference. More students, more band (not a DJ) and more cheerleaders and spirit team.

I wasn’t really rooting for anyone. Hate both teams. But if we were in Akron’s position, how they shut up Kent and dominated them is exactly how you draw it up. Let the play on the floor speak volumes then have the last laugh when you’re victorious.

I don’t think so. Because he does win. They will be headed to the NIT again. And it’s Toledo. Not exactly a prestigious school. That all said, most of the players on the current roster will return next year (on paper) so you figure they run it back and will be right there at the top of the MAC again. If it happens again next season, then all bets are off.

Legit question…outside of budget, conference, fan base and facilities (which I know accounts for a lot), when was the last time SU women’s basketball and football was relevant? I hear SU I think Boeheim, lacrosse and carrier dome. The rest is overrated. And yes Jim Brown and McNabb…ages ago. School is overrated. Shots fired. Rant over hehe.

Then hire a new one. I know that’s a specific job but I don’t think it’s a bank buster. I agree a mental health coach is crucial to the younger generation.

There should be. More resources should be pumped into our athletics. Especially when we win. Overall our athletic programs across all sports is good. Please devote more resources into sports. Football leads the way but all our other programs, from wrestling to swim/dive and of course our champs, have been great. Rant over.

So I just read up on it. Only one player is suspended for the entire game. Everyone else just a half. Really the only player of note is Jacobs. And he’s just suspended for the first half.

If this was coach Jack’s swan song then she/we go out as champs. Hey Alnutt…give her what she wants.

Absolutely! Totally agree. This is borderline threats. Makes me wanna cheer for Akron. Game just got more interesting I’ll say that.

Fair is greatest when she gets others involved too. She just had a nice kick out pass to Woolley. Who already has more points in this quarter than she did all first half. Defense picking up now too. Good 3rd quarter

We’ve gone down the portal road a lot under Whitesell with mixed results. My only concern is bringing in a transfer and that transfer expecting to start. We need to center the future of this team around the younger guys. Mading, Williamson, Jones, Blocker and Caesar. Obviously Skogman has his role cemented. My point is we can’t bring in a transfer then continuously play that transfer even when they are bad, at the expense of playing and developing a younger player. IE Brewton/Blocker. Or Antwan Johnson or Gave Grant. It’s all a delicate balance. And of course who knows…someone may portal out of UB
