  1. Damn was hoping for JMU or Arkansas St.
  2. I like the lighter floor. Makes the blue pop. Nothing too crazy or distracting.
  3. Love that coach is getting a jump on next year. Always looking ahead. Good to see. Can’t get left behind.
  4. The season is gonna be like beer league softball. We will be that team with a rotating roster and ringers that goes on to win it all.
  5. My question is…what the heck is the yellow paint for?
  6. Wow! Talk about late movement. This is a big Mac shake up. Shocked he waited all this time and that’s where he goes.
  7. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/37836458/three-arkansas-state-players-arrested-theft-charge LOL I shouldn’t be laughing bc this can happen at any program. And only 1 of the players is a player Hodgson brought in but the jokes write themselves.
  8. Say what you will…coach Burke gets players to sign.
  9. Perhaps if we see them in the tournament mentioned above. Other than that, not likely this season.
  10. FDU counts. That’s Jersey. Good talent comes out Jersey.
  11. Add Philly also. Basically anywhere we recruit out of
  12. Especially when we could just travel down state and spend 4 days in NYC and play them. I get it though…rather play neutral site than true road games. But the point is valid and remains…we need to play in the NYC metro area. For so many reasons.
  13. Hence why I said Whitesell administration. I was also joking. Let’s not repeat that mistake again please.
  14. The Whitesell administration would fudge some documents here
  15. If he’s a two time transfer he would have to apply for waiver. If denied he sits.
  16. Absolutely. Don’t retract anything. Your points are great. Right now I definitely agree for small schools it’s tough bc they don’t have that donor base and/or boosters with big pockets. It’s like which came first the chicken or the egg? Do we need to win to secure dollars or secure dollars then win? Can you secure dollars without winning? Definitely a tough spot for small schools. To which I agree with you 100%.
  17. I don’t disagree with anything you said. All valid. I don’t necessarily think it’s the end for small schools bc at the end of the day if you get a player that hustles off the court to secure their own deals then small schools can survive. For example, if I’m a player at a small school I’m going to local restaurants, car dealerships, clubs and bars and trying to secure endorsements and appearances for a fee. Any player can do this now at any school. The bigger issue you raise is the portal. I think we can ALL agree it’s out of control. If they can coral that then I think small schools will be able to better hold onto talent even if only for 2-3 years before they use their one time transfer. Final point, I think there’s a distinction between donor and collective. Donors give to the school. School upgrades facilities and the experience for its athletes. Collective are independent of the school and pretty much pay players to play.
  18. There’s room for both. Essentially money that is donated to the school should go towards infrastructure and facilities and so on. Agree on that. But independently of the school, NIL goes directly to the player. And the collective(s) work directly with the player. Example: player X post on instagram an endorsement of a product and gets paid. The two are separate. Room for both. I think that’s where the confusion and unwillingness to adapt to the change is coming from. You mention giving players experiences…bc of NIL players are literally coming back to school rather than entering the draft, not getting drafted and having to work the various foreign leagues just to get a shot. Imagine that, kids coming back to school. Which then they make some money and earn a degree. Call me idealistic but doesn’t that sound great? Now imagine 10 years from now these kids start to think smarter…use basketball and NIL to get business degrees and start companies. Wow. Plus the college game itself is a better product on the court. Obviously like any new rollout there have been bumps but I think it’s working so far. On and off the court.
  19. Idk I just get the sense that some question it. Don’t like it or the direction the game is going.
