  1. Good question. She has been in sweats all year and has been on the bench and does not seem to be hurt. Probably red shit again?? There is another player in sweats also and not even sure who it is??
  2. Wow!! I did not know that. With the shooting woes the last few games and if we have another injury along with losing McEvans and Young leaving the program we could be in big trouble. Losing McEvans was a big time blow because she not only provided depth but was outstanding both on the defensive and rebounding side. Can any of our reserves show any improvement to help the team?? Go Bulls!!!
  3. I do agree that he will not change as that is in his DNA win or lose. Bringing up the officiating that more times than not is atrocious no matter what conference you watch there really is no accountability on their performance. Unless officials can learn from their mistakes and be held responsible there will never be any improvement. I do not want to hear they are just human and as in any profession if you don’t improve and learn from mistakes and strive to be better you should not be an official. You wonder how much the AD’s and president’s of schools have the courage to speak out about officiating. Why are coaches and players held accountable and not officials?? As much as things are ever changing in sports one thing that does not change is the state of officiating. I continue to enjoy all sports to watch these players give us great moments and have memories that will last a lifetime especially these last few years here at UB. Go Bulls!!
  4. Sub par games in the last two games by Woolley and Fair against the two better teams spell defeat. 4-23 from the 3 point line and no contributions from the bench does not look good. The difference in the game was the big three for Ohio had decent games. A little disappointing that this coaching staff could not find or develop any player to help this starting group. Paying attention to other teams in the MAC that have lost the majority of their best players there is a definite slide in their success. As with the case with many mid-major teams when they lose their top players and don’t hit on some recruits it can turn into a very tough year. I have seen it with CMU this year and could see it with Ohio and some other teams that have a very limited number of players that contribute to their success. Hope and pray that does not happen to UB so will enjoy this season for what it is and support this team 100%, Go Bulls!!!
  5. Big and important game for us tonight against a very tough Ohio team. There three main players are Hooks, Johnson and Burris. They primarily only play six players with the three hardily ever coming out of the game. Ohio is losing Hooks and Burris next year and the wonder is will they turn into the CMU of this year who have only won three games all year. Hope we can get big bounce back games from Fair, Adeyeye and Christie because we will need all hands on deck. On the Syracuse women’s front They are 8-9 and 1-6 in conference and they have at least five seniors who play the primary minutes. Does not seem to bode well for us keeping Coach Jack from possibly being offered the Syracuse job!!! Will enjoy this year and hope for another MAC championship.Go Bulls!!!!
  6. Thanks for some of the updates. I thought McEvans was an ankle but at the Akron game had a brace on her entire leg. It is a concern with only Camp and Fair the only guards with ball handling ability in the backcourt. The coaching decisions going forward will be critical but have faith in this coaching staff. Go Bulls!!
  7. The concern is definitely there for sure. Last night’s game was a tremendous defensive game for the entire team. They played almost exclusively a zone defense that was very active resulting in 8 blocks and 9 steals and they had a great rebounding game especially by Adeyeye and Christie. Camp had a good game as the point guard and Woolley continues to improve especially with her drives to the basket. Hemphill did not have a good shooting game but was great on the defensive end. Fair hurt her shoulder on the first offensive set and seemed to be favoring it during the game. Her outside shooting was off and the majority of her points were on her drives to the basket. Can only hope it is a minor injury. UB’s ball movement on the offensive side was very good with all players involved. There were very few fouls called the entire game by this group of officials and I don’t recall seeing these officials for our games. What a joy to watch a game with decent flow and not being influenced by officials. Two tough away games coming up against Toledo and Ohio should be another test for this team and should be exciting. Go Bulls!!!!
  8. Do agree, This will be another tough game for us as Akron has almost their entire team back. They are ranked high in defensive efficiency and not fouling a ton. They are big down low and shoot the 3’s decent. Really looking forward to this game and hope fans show up to show their support. Go Bulls!!!
  9. Do agree. With the status of Young uncertain Camp is now the point guard and she has had games where she has had good games and some very uneven games and when she is not on her game Fair has had to take over both the point guard and the main shooting threat. Fair definitely does better as the recipient when plays are set up and there is good ball movement when Camp is on her game. We are very thin at both point guard and also down low especially because Adeyeye getting in constant foul trouble and Christie looking a step slow and playing like in sow motion. It is a tribute to both the coaching staff and the players to play together and never back down from any team. It is an exciting time for us fans to see how far this team can go. Go Bulls!!!
  10. Agree about the bench. With McEvans out the rest of the year and not sure about Young and Adeyeye always in foul trouble and always playing like her pants are on fire if our starters are in foul trouble or have off games it could become uncomfortable for all involved. If this coaching staff could get Adeyeye to play more under control that could help from a depth perspective. Hope for a better crowd on Wednesday. Go Bulls!!
  11. A gritty win by the women tonight 65-62. They had not played in 12 days and not sure if covid affected some of the players together with Summer missing the shoot around because of the death of her brother-in-law. Down 7 with 4 minutes to go UB held Kent State without a field goal and made just enough plays to win. This team is one exciting team and hope more fans will show up on Wednesday against Akron. Go Bulls!!!
  12. Both Bowling Green and UB games that were scheduled for Tuesday were postponed due to Covid. With other games in the MAC postponed I think the MAC was just trying to get some open dates for teams and try to stay ahead of any other Covid postponements. This could be happening during the entire year. This appears like a roller coaster that we are not going to get off anytime soon. Go Bulls!!!!
  13. You have to wonder if there was ever any emphasis on defense when he was playing, On a positive note with his size he should be able to rebound on both ends of the floor as long as he is playing more down low, Go Bulls!!!
  14. Agree. Credit to the coaching staff for the game plan and finally putting Skogman in positions both down low and on the perimeter and putting pressure on BG to defend both. Definitely more energy on both ends of the floor hope the coaches can get the team to play better team defense. Still concerning with both Brewton and Jack’s 3 point shooting. Finally Brewton finally had some some drives and shots in close to the basket. I said it was time for some of our other players to step up and amazing what happens when adversity strikes. Two key points in the game were we won the rebounding battle against a top rebounding team in BG and of course the free throw shooting of 33-35 at 94% that is acknowledged nationally. Just a great team win. Go Bulls!!!
  15. Agree. Hope Mballa is going to be doing the same thing. He has just been atrocious at the line most of the season.
  16. Terrible news on McEvans and also what is wrong with Young. Further depletes their bench strength. Now time for some of the reserves that have not gotten very little playing time to step up like what happened with the men last night. Have confidence in the coaching staff to get some players into the mix. Still concerning with Adeyeye’s foul troubles and Christie not showing any progress in her play. Only hope there are some players on the bench that can contribute. Another great game last night by Fair and Hemphill especially with Woolley having a rough game. The next game against Kent State will be another test as they have a big and athletic front court and a little surprising they are 0-3 in the MAC. Overall in the MAC Central Michigan lost again and Ohio has had their first three MAC game all postponed because of Covid!! Hope we can see a big and enthusiastic crowd on Saturday. This team is deserves fan support and when the students come back hope we can get more student support than just a handful that show up for their games. Go Bulls!!!
  17. Welcome also. Hope that you can attend or at least see some games. Our expectations the last few years with Hurley and Oats and now Whitesell have been off the charts and hope we can get this year turned around. Without Mballa and Fagan not sure what contributions we will get from some of our younger players. It is a chance for them to show us what they are made of. Also if you get a chance to see some of the Women’s games it will not disappoint as they have some very talented players. Go Bulls!!!
  18. Another good win by the women despite both McEvans and Christie injuries. Hope they are not serious. Another good game by Camp with nine assists along with a good scoring game from Adeyeye. If this coaching staff could get her to be under control and not commit silly fouls as she fouled out again. Solid games by Fair, Summer and Woolley and really just holding on in the 4th quarter and as coach Jack said we will take an ugly win any time. My wish for the new year is for more fans to show up for this women’s team who are exciting to watch and do play more team ball and always give their all on every position. Go Bulls!!!
  19. Do agree. CMU lost the majority of their best players from last year and now their backup players are now their starters with not experienced backups. They have a couple of freshmen that look decent and their other frontline player/ Weeks was not in the lineup. What a difference a year can make when you lose your best players and don’t hit on your incoming players. It happens more than you think especially in the mid major programs. Still concerned about our frontline depth after Adeyeye and Hemphill. Christie has regressed and not sure who Coach Jack is going to play in critical situations. McEvans injury has limited her playing time and Woolley looks like she should can become a very good player. Hope more fans come out to see this team especially with Fair and Hemphill. Go Bulls!!!!
  20. Lofton not close to 100%. Another case of a team with all the players back and all the hype does not pan out. They don’t look like the same team as last year with no intensity. Another case that the mental part of the game can be as important as the physical part. They looked lost on both ends of the floor with no ball movement and just one on one play. The coach was right on - they were horrible. Will see if they can get their heads in the right direction once A-10 play starts. But still do want them to do well this year and maybe go to a game to see the Olean crazies.
  21. Wow!! Going from bad to worse. I wonder if the Canisius and the UC Irvine game will be played??
  22. I really hope not but just hearing what is happening all over the country and cases in New York and some colleges cancelling classes and go back on line for classes and exams is troubling. Just looking forward to MAC play for both men and women is keeping my hopes and excitement up. Go Bullls!!!!
  23. Agree. That was my recap. In OT we were 2-6, Princeton 7-10. Also all the turnovers did not help. I wonder with all the covid around I wonder if the Bucknell game will take place. Go Bulls!!
  24. Not sure if it is a bad loss against a good team but it is troubling when Princeton’s top three players fouled out and we could not find a way to win in OT. It does look like Coach Jack has the rotation of players in games now but still concerned about the total regression of Christie who continues to look lost on both ends of the floor. Is there no player on the bench that the coaching staff has any faith in to get some playing time?? Really looking forward to MAC games and see how we match up with the other top teams. Go Bulls!!!
  25. Do agree. Princeton is a good team. Appears we lost the game because of poor foul shooting especially in overtime. Just 2-6 for us and 7-10 for Princeton. Question that McEvans only had 9 shots and Summer just 2 shots?? Need to have Fair with more than 3 assists in game and get more players involved. Will have another quality team in Bucknell the next game. Did not see game so not sure on the officiating and what the T was about. Go Bulls!!
