  1. Was CJ able to throw with some level of accuracy or was it mainly a running attack? The one clip I saw from Nik McMillian's catch seemed to come from DiPillo. Great to hear that there is a noticeable difference. I heard something similar from one of the player's dad's who was also in attendance.
  2. Disappointing. Anyone know if she was recruited by SU out of HS and FLJ talked her into coming to UB?
  3. Said he led all of Canada in assists too, that should help.
  4. True to form, we have another Canadian! 31 minutes/game, 15.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 6.4 assists/game, 2.11 assist/turnover ratio, 37.5% 3-points (30-80), 75% FT shooter. Hopefully it can translate to UB and give us a veteran presence that looks like he can shoot and distribute. 5.8 rpg is really solid for a 6'3 guard as well, could be a gym rat.
  5. I really like this pickup. Gives the staff another open scholarship next season, but she will reap us rewards this year. A real low block presence that is used to playing 28 minutes a game, which she will likely not have to do this season, so she can be fresh, clean the boards and give us much needed post scoring. Well done staff.
  6. I think Coach Burke is doing well with recruiting, but yeah. She mentioned Rochester a bunch, why not give UB a little love for giving her the start to her career.
  7. If nothing else, I love the personality he is showing and I would think that would rub off on the players. From what I heard, the last few years were not fun and very overbearing. If nothing else, hopefully these guys can play a little looser and let their abilities shine through. I'm not saying you shouldn't have discipline, but you need a balance or you are going lose guys mentally and you will see the product we had on the field last year.
  8. Sadly, you are right. This is a perfect example of players go for the coach, not the school. Not always the case, but many times the case. This will be interesting both ways. WNBA is chocked full of talent and players on the larger end. I'm wondering if DF will be able to compete at that level given her stature. I know she has played against bigger teams her entire career, but most in the NCAA don't have the honed skills of grown women that are 6'2"+ packing rosters. With on'y 12 roster spots, you can't really afford to keep players that may be considered a project. Will also be interesting for FLJ. She has 4 women in the portal so far (including McEvans) and will no longer have Fair to lean on as she has for 5 seasons. Wooley is a solid player, but I don't see her taking over that role. Not sure what recruits she has coming in, but I would be surprised if they maintained the same level next season after a loss of a player like that. I still wish her well, but it would be nice to get a Buffalo shout out once in a while too.
  9. We get to claim her too, I don’t care what anyone says 😂
  10. Our Roster may be complete for the WBB team! Coach Burke just posted a huge Boom and said 3/3 Stay tuned. Assuming Makenna is 1 of 3, that means 2 more announcements should be forthcoming in the next day or so. If she got in 3 recruits over the weekend and landed them all, that is wild stuff!!
  11. Another Alabama guy in the Portal, 6'10 Freshman Sam Walters. Even a Final 4 appearance doesn't guarantee consistency year-to-year. College basketball is a wacky world.
  12. Looks like she was recruited by BG out of HS last year. I assume she will have 3 years of eligibility left since this was her Freshman season. Puts her on par with Lopez, Davis and KLW.
  13. She is definitely pulling needs based players that should be able to contribute day 1. Let's see how these last 2 slots play out. Would love to find someone 6'3-6'4 that likes playing with their back to the basket and board cleaner. That could help neutralize some of the advantages teams in the MAC exploited against us.
  14. I would say they should have the best talent. If they put it all together, I would imagine they are the favorites heading into the season.
  15. I’m guessing these are 2025 recruits coming in?
  16. You can check my threads, I would not be roasting GH3. I think he has a plan and vision. His plan and vision does not involve high end recruits that put up crazy AAU numbers. He is looking for a specific style of player and had several last year that did not want to play whatever he was preaching. Will it work? I don't know, but I am behind him trying it. As for this recruit, her last year with Burke (2021-22) as a Freshman, she scored 8.2 ppg and 2.9 rpg. She was 12/12 FT and 34.9% 3-PT (60 made) in 896 minutes, she also started 28 or 30 games. Her 1st season at Marshall she was averaging 4.8 ppg and 1.5 rpg, 7/7 FT and 31.3% (35 made) playing 502 minutes. This past season she only played 65 minutes, not sure if it was injury related or performance related. She obviously knows Burke's style and won't be offended by her coaching style, so it's worth a shot in my opinion.
  17. It really doesn't matter who you are or where you are. Players are going to leave even if it's a great situation for them on a really good team. Someone will offer something more. Just crazy, but I guess this is what it is.
  18. Only if the NCAA has a beef with someone specific.
  19. Looks like UConn may have the inside track.
  20. Everyone looking for the next Mark Sears I live less than an hour from The Mount. Maybe I will go at lunch time decked out in UB gear and try to find the basketball team to make a sales pitch. That shouldn’t violate any rules, right?
  21. Leading scorer was a Senior. 2nd leading scorer - De’Shayne Montgomery, 6’4” freshman guard, 13.2 ppg and 41.2% from 3. best rebounder was 4.5 RPG and several guys around 4rpg.
