  1. Not sure if it means anything, but AJ Boldin responded to this with 2 black hearts:
  2. We had a lot of talent on the field, but much less on the sideline. We kept 95% of the team and all the recruits. I really think this could be an 8 win team given the improved staff
  3. I have heard similar sentiments. I believe one of the quotes was that a "weight was lifted". Sounds like it was not much fun and everyone was afraid to make a mistake, which of course, typically leads to more mistakes. If in fact he was overseeing the offense, that would explain why it looked the way it did. He has minimal offensive experience and trying to be an OC as a defensive guy is usually a terrible idea.
  4. I think the lack of NIL will be a bit of a hinderance to that vision. I think that may be why he is focusing on some higher level D2 and Ivy guys where UB has some better prospects for them and money may not be the carrot they need (not that money isn't nice).
  5. Understand that, but that buyout could have been bigger and they also should have spent on a better candidate. We were in a position to actually start at a plateau point and then advance forward. JW offered some stability and likely preservation of the roster, but it basically caused us to stay at that plateau without moving up. I also am not talking about BH, I am talking about a competent HC with a winning history where UB would have been a step up and then he could have advanced to that next level. It didn't happen, so here we are.
  6. I'm with you on all counts, let's hope for the best!
  7. Well there you go, if that happens. Mid/low level college football is dead. Back to a pseudo rec sport.
  8. The workmans comp insurance on a football player has to be daunting, especially for 85 of them plus all the other guys. It would likely limit opportunity and rosters would likely get smaller. You can't pay premiums on dead wood because they can get hurt on the practice field as well.
  9. I agree with this assessment. Unfortunately, in our instant gratification society, it's hard to wait 3 years. I'm a Bulls fan for life, so 3 years is nothing 😂
  10. Guaranteed the feeling isn’t mutual. ADMA really messed up that buyout. Should have set us up to hire a $1 million coach.
  11. I am really curious as to what goes on in the brain of our AD. I’m very hopefully for Lembo, he actually feels like a Buffalo guy. I just don’t understand why you create a problem with a program where there isn’t one. Had a solid season, every single starter was coming back and we had a top recruiting class coming in. Does ADMA have a friend who is a wrestling coach that needs a job?
  12. Do you think he was interested, or is he just satisfied at Toledo?
  13. I wouldn’t be opposed to one or both
  14. I never heard a commitment either. They likely knew there was a potential issue so didn’t announce until they had confirmation. Could have been a nice piece.
  15. I’m betting the prep school he attended that was created to avoid Covid restrictions didn’t have their ducks in a row. If he can’t play for D1 or D2, he’s definitely missing some things that he can fill at JUCO. Nice to know how WOULD have come to Buffalo 😂
  16. After their strong showing in the South conference, Canterbury's Tim Oboh has graduated from last year's top U17 player to this season's MVP. The Kent programme went 9-3 and had a strong opportunity to win the conference before a late-season blip, with Oboh claiming multiple Player of the Year nods along the way. 16.9PPG went with 12.1RPG as Oboh continually impressed, and his efficient shooting around the rim (50.9FG%) helped Canterbury to become one of the big storylines of the 2023/24 regular season. Oboh just managed to pip JMA's Isaac Round for the award as the duo were voted either first or second by every coach in the conference.
  17. What a devastating blow 🤣 It's only a matter of time before they figure out how to do a trade deadline for those P5 teams trying to make a march madness push and get some injuries. Sounds foolish, but I would not be surprised.
  18. Absolutely, student is the furthest thing from any of this. Is really just minor league basketball with salaries ranging from $0 to millions of dollars, but nobody really knows. Would it wrong for the NIL values to be made public? One of the arguments I heard is that the players are employees, want to unionize, etc. it would be nice to know what reality is since some guys may think they are going to get $100k and end up with coupons to Buffalo Wild Wings instead
  19. No, when Graham was granted the ability to play this season, basically the court ruling said there can't be transfer sit-outs anymore so anyone can go anywhere, anytime regardless of previous transfers or what year you are in. It's currently the wild west. Maybe it will change, but it will be a court ruling and I'm sure everyone already in the portal will be protected.
  20. Not sure about easily since they lost to Clemson at home and only scored 77 that game. They certainly have a very good chance, especially if they play with that level of intensity again.
  21. This should open things up for Watson. If we can get proficient on the inside game and get our rebounding to be close to even with MAC teams, her mid-range game with flourish and if she misses we will have a much better chance at getting offensive rebounds. We will also have 3 good ballhandlers in Lopez, Freshman Rowe and transfer Cornfield. Could be a really tough team.
  22. Guard - Wangolo, Lewis-Williams, Take, Gines, Lopez, Watson (6) Guard/Forward - Davis, Ogden (2) Forward - Ojala (1) Moving on - Elhusseini, Baron, Johnson, Craig Uncertain - Gouzelou Known Incoming - Barr-Budday, Rowe, Daly, Cornfield, Hartman, Thompson (6) That would put us at (15) plus Gouzelou. I'm guessing she is done at this point unless someone else leaves. I believe there are only 14 scholarships, so not sure what that means. Maybe Ojala is moving on?
  23. Looks like she got lost on the bench at GW. I'm guessing she will get plenty of PT next year. Will be good to have some size and rebounding acumen.
  24. She's from Blair Academy too, that's usually a powerhouse school.
