  1. That’s two weeks in a row the Bulls were tied or leading into the 4th Qtr. My old coach used to say Bad teams find a way to lose…and unfortunately, that’s where we’re at right now.
  2. Snyder is just bizarre. Makes a nice couple throws, then mixes in some awful throws and terrible decision making. Then follows that up with a few clutch passes. Then he will stand in the pocket with no situational awareness and instead of scrambling just takes a sack. And at the end of the day you look at his stats and they are pretty good?!?!
  3. Special teams. The good, 4 FG’s The bad, opening kickoff out of bounds and the punter drops a snap for a scoop and score TD. That’s brutal.
  4. I like the Bulls to cover today, maybe even win outright. Who is Coastal Carolina this year? They don't look all that great, and UB is highly motivated to play a solid, clean game. I'm taking the glass half full approach for this game.
  5. Last season the team regressed as the season went on. I think this season, barring some major injuries, the team should improve as the season goes on. The QB may not have a rocket arm but is capable of distributing the ball and the WR group includes some big play guys. The D was roasted at the end last week and the running QB had them chasing air on several plays. But the big undoing was penalties. Without some terrible ill-timed penalties, some of those Holy Cross drives get stuffed and maybe the game isn't close enough at the end to be in doubt. Supposedly the Bulls have talent to be considered in the top half of the MAC. It's up to the coaches to get them playing to their potential. So far, from the head coach on down it's not been an impressive job of coaching them up.
  6. All of the above,, plus Lance's wife is from Omaha, NE.
  7. Saw an article linking Lance Leipold to the Nebraska opening. He's on short list with 3 other guys. Interesting. I'm sure KU fans don't feel great about that.
  8. Not sure but there were some quotes in the Buffalo News this morning talking about "not executing" at the end. Yes, typical canned coach speak, but he obviously took a gut punch from that loss. Mo is on a personal 6-game losing streak. People on the MAC board say the Bulls have top-4 talent in the conference but are the worst coached. I can't disagree. Maybe it's him, maybe it's the assistants. Not sure, but they need to figure it out quickly. We have a QB that can distribute the ball and some stud WR's. They have a big Oline, Dline, new DB's...some solid players. They need to start winning some games.
  9. In other news, Vantrease is shredding Nebraska on National Tv, in Lincoln. Very impressive by Georgia Southern.
  10. Saw a pretty humbling Tweet from someone. It said for the first time in years…. Buffalo finally has head football and basketball coaches, and an AD who they don’t have to worry about getting hired away by a P-5 program.
  11. Pretty pathetic defense at the end there. I mean even before that last pass UB had given up over 400 yards to Holy Cross, forced zero turnovers and took 10 penalties. This coach is on a personal 6 game losing streak. I mentioned in the other thread our WRs looked much better in the Maryland game(even tho Cole didn’t get the ball out on time) but tonight they connected. Shoulda kept throwing after it was 28-21. At least the passing attack looked OK. Everything else was meh. The secondary has haunted us since this coach took over, unfortunately. I thought they were getting better.
  12. I actually thought the WR’s looked pretty good. I was watching them. On several plays the QB couldn’t get them the ball or just didn’t pull the trigger in time. Marshall, Williams and Gassett need the ball in their hands in some space.
  13. Yep, maybe it’s the Patriot League opponent but this game is giving me those Colgate vibes when they came up here a couple times and spanked UB. Sure hope not!
  14. Another site had UB -12.5. They also picked HC to win and cover 31-20. Not sure about this game...no feel for it.
  15. Fun time at the game today. We were sitting in the lower level on the Terps sidelines around midfield. Good seats and even better because the large structure on that side (suites and press box) blocked the sun. The game was about as expected for me. I posted somewhere that we'd lose around 38-14 and the final was a bit closer so I'll take it. I thought the D would get shredded by Taulia and his stable of excellent WR's. He did hit on 70% of his passes for 290 but the secondary actually hung in there and made some plays. For much of the first half the tackling was good. The big chunk running plays really hurt obviously. But overall the D looked better than last season imo, especially when matched up against a superior offense. The UB defense *should* play better against similar competition. We shall see. The offense kinda' stunk. Especially passing. No other way to say it. People down here who know the Terrapins, told me before the game their defense is nothing special and will be their downfall this season. So the fact UB was stifled for so many drives does not bode well. As others have said, if Cole Snyder won the QB competition, that's not a real good sign either. I was kind of expecting to see Myers or the other QB at some point. I thought Snyder would be better, but hey, I'll be patient and see what he does against lesser competition and in MAC play. He was probably nervous and this may have been the hardest game, who knows? The RB's Washington and Henderson had some pop. Look forward to seeing more of them. Sitting amongst Maryland fans, I heard the guys behind me talking about the game and saying UB looked like a high school team, especially their offense.. That kind of hurt. Also, I was disappointed when the Bulls received the opening kickoff and what do they do on 1st and 2nd down? Hand off and plow up the middle for like 3 yards, then put Cole in an obvious passing situation which failed. How about opening the game with some imagination,,, or maybe give Snyder an easy pitch and catch to knock the nerves out. So conservative.
  16. I didn't realize he had transferred again until i flipped on the game last night. This guy is Mr. Big10
  17. I'm in that camp. The Bulls secondary was so horrible last year I'm still traumatized by it, Lol. They couldn't tackle, they couldn't cover...it was not FBS caliber. If Mo shored up that position group I can see them winning 5-6 games. If DB's show up, and the new QB can show something special, maybe 7 wins.
  18. Not worth starting a new thread about it, but i saw ex-Bulls WR Trevor Wilson has been suspended by Kansas indefinitely. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/34482686/kansas-jayhawks-suspend-wr-trevor-wilson-indefinitely-arrest
  19. I can't wait for this. I'll be there with my son and brother in law. Not expecting a W but looking for a fun day and hopefully the Bulls can stay competitive throughout and surprise us. UMD has a lot of athletes and a QB that can be as good as anyone when he's on.
  20. Sounds good. She should hire an assistant from the other South Carolina. You know, the one that won the National Championship.
  21. I heard that Murray State lost nearly every good player from this years #7 seed team. They all bolted for the portal right after elimination in part due to a coaching change. In this environment of college athletics, Coach's have to re-recruit their players every offseason. It's nuts.
  22. Not a surprise at all, but it feels like UB women's hoops has been nuked. It's a real shame.
  23. Once Felisha was rumored to be leaving UB i immediately assumed Fair and some others would either follow FLJ or leave to go somewhere else. So this isn’t surprising at all, but it still stinks. College sports right now is a tough follow because anyone you like, ends up leaving. Womens hoops will be in a total rebuild. It was fun for a few years there.
  24. I think it's cool. Typically i go to early season, nice weather, Terps games when they play OOC teams like Temple, USF, etc.. It's never full unlike the marquee Big10 teams, but the gameday atmosphere is still good. Might be a bigger crowd since it's game 1 and people are fired up for football.
