  1. My opinion only, but next year's team needs defined roles and everyone bought into them. This year's group and the past few year's groups, have been a collection of players, who played good basketball, but in the end wanted to be The Guy, especially on offense. The big team, everyone got theirs, but The Guy was CJ, followed by Nick/Harris, and Graves, dontay, davonte and montrell let the offense come to them via The Guy(s). It will be an overhaul of guys that don't have college stats, so they can earn their stripes and may work hard to get them (hopefully earned via practices, games, not given via past performance and seniority). I look forward to seeing what the group will look like come fall. Until then, it's just completely guesswork. There's tons of players out there. We need to find "dogs" that want to fight (a couple of CJs or Dontays who worked and believed in themselves). Need to find hard working D guys. The offense will come via D, that's how all those transition baskets happened in 2019, in addition to that being the gameplan. Jones is good, not as fast or flashy as Rondo, but an offseason of work and getting the opportunity, if bought into, could be that guy that becomes the heartbeat at least on offense. Blocker might become the guy who is the big guard scorer. Skogman our big man threat. Let's wait and see how the roster shakes out. Until then, it's UB women all the way tomorrow!
  2. As of now, offense needs to run through Skogman. Jones needs to grow fast and lead as the court general. Lots of missing bodies unknown to know how else it may roll.
  3. +18 after 3. Looking pretty good here. Fair 24, wooley 16. Stifling D!
  4. This team was missing that "heart" player like Dontay was or Adeyeye is fot the women's team. Having that would've gone a long way this year and the past couple as well.
  5. +11 @ half. Fair with 16 and summer 10 boards. One more half like this please!
  6. +8 after 1st, fair and squad hitting from deep. Refs letting them play, only 1 foul in whole quarter
  7. I can't argue/disagree with these questions. I think that next year's team builds around Skogman currently. Hopefully a new core of players bring the true "blue collar" mindset back, as it's been greatly missed and lacking on thr floor.
  8. Could the transfer portal be a cause of this? In my mind, heck yes.
  9. Yep, their coach is crazy, abuses the refs like Bobby did ALL game long.
  10. In the other semi, ball state up on the favorite toledo squad by 14 at half. That'd be a plus, in theory, if they hold on.
  11. Skogman was on the radar, but not confirmed to come due to 5 other guys who were signed/planned to sign and the full allocation of scholarships were used. JW brought him in once they decommitted. Until we see the roster filled, it's unknown for next year.
  12. And I said it was only one metric. Agreed on leading/winning, didn't happen for this group over their final 2 seasons as the go to guys. Jeenathan 6 TOs, Mballa 1-7 and Rondo 1-9 yesterday stings. Those aren't on the coach however. It's sports, and those happen, unfortunately happened yesterday and too many times this year as a whole.
  13. Agreed. When on his game, was unstoppable in this league. Something just has been off for most of the past 3 months. Struggled to grab boards/passes cleanly and that just didn't happen in the past
  14. Jeenathan ppg by year: 3, 11, 17, 19. Rondo ppg by year: 2, 8, 13, 15. Mballa ppg by year: 1 (at TT), 11, 15, 13. While ppg is only one metric, and they were given increased opportunities by year as well, those numbers hardly lend themselves to "regression". It's not all sunshine and unicorns right now for the program, but these guys, while highly rated coming in, still weren't all Mac guys as young players. Even though they had limited minutes and roles early on, they weren't nearly at the levels they are now (even though Josh still doesn't seem right ppst covid). Disliking or disapproval of the players/staff is everyone's option, but this seems way off base.
  15. They also can aim for a little revenge for Fair getting screwed by the MAC for POTY. They've beaten this team twice handily already this year, including last week. It should continue today.
  16. Yes, they lost to Vandy yesterday in round 1. They lost to Georgia this season on 1/25 and it was Georgia's only league win this year.
  17. No way on Nit. Cit and Cbi are stupid. Also, Nate just lost round 1, lost to a 1-17 georgia team (their only league win), lost 3 straight, he must suck!
  18. I wish I could've seen those games so I could've critiqued your performance in the same manner as you do of those on the UB team and staff. Regardless of anything positive that you may have done, I would've surely found every misstep and never recognized the positive. You, or anyone else, can say what you wish, however when Literally every single post of yours does nothing but criticize the team/program, it's very ridiculous, at least in my eyes. Personally, I enjoyed the games all season, regardless of frustration and evident disappointment tonight and during stretches of the season. That's what sports is supposed to be, at least to me. I wish they'd be 39-0, but that won't happen, now or ever. Even if you disapprove of the product, as a fan, I would think that you could find some positives anyway. My 2 cents, and that's it.
  19. In the times of the portal, one can never know anymore. It's 1 year increments only in my mind now.
