Sabol is a nice three point shooter, albeit streaky. Lacks athleticism. He reminds of Zach Filzen. I liked Filzen too, but always thought be would have been a better role player of the bench in favor of a multi level scorer.

JMU swept their MAC opponents this year including Akron, Can’t and us. To be fair, Bulls loss by 15 on the road while A-State lost by 20 on a neutral court.

Loss to #68 and top rated Sun Belt team James Madison. Disappointing finish for a really good first season for BH. They play a lot like the Bulls good ‘ole days. Fun to watch and a great brand of basketball. I’ll continue to root for BH and JQ.

If only! We have both been on the Hodgson train since the news broke of Whitesel’s firing. You can say what you want about Hodgson, but he’s a dog and a hustler. I’ll be rooting for him and Quarles this evening. Both directly off the Oats tree. Likely a tough matchup for his team tonight taking on App State, the #1 seed in the SB and #75 team in KenPom (compared to the MAC’s top KenPom team in Akron @ #119). Arkansas State is at #130 in KenPom and a few spots ahead of Toledo.

Sad but true. Almost spot on IMO. GHIII went from Bapson College as a player $$$$$ to Nova’s staff $$$$$$$. No doubt he’s faced some adversity like anyone, but he’s had a silver spoon. Time to determine if we have a dog. The entire deck is stacked against him now. Transfer portal makes it way easier to build than years b4, but NIL is certainly a barrier right now. It’s going to be a very interesting off season.

At least they were consistent. Winning or losing to the 320th ranked KenPom team today doesn’t change anything for me. Just brutal all the way around. This team and staff need so much. Hope I’m wrong, but I would bet I’m not.

Have you been impressed by any MAC team this year? I haven’t. The metrics don’t lie. The MAC is as bad as I’ve been going to games since Coach Spoon’s 1st game vs NC.

KenPom currently has UB MBB at 345, NET at 343. Absolutely horrendous. Coach Hodgson and Arkansas State is almost +150 from last season’s final rankings to where they currently sit. Is that a reasonable expectation for next season? The team will need an almost a complete makeover. I anticipate some roster turnover as a result of transfers too. Share your thoughts.

Absolutely no disrespect to those guys as they were one of my favorite teams, but Battle/Bortz/Bird/Gilbert had a disappointing senior season by finishing in 7th place in the MAC regular season. After a run in the MAC tourney from the 7th seed, they had the most devastating loss in the Bulls modern era after being up by almost 20 in the first half of the MAC championship game vs Ohio.

Toledo stacks conference wins years after year under Coach TK and they are always frauds. Never win anything. Gonna be the same story this year. Woof.
