  1. Probably Michael Reghi. He is the usual voice of the MAC. I would prefer Akron announcers.
  2. Wooley Freshman of the Year and ALL MAC Freshman team Hemphill 2nd Team ALL MAC and All Defensive Team Fair First team All MAC https://ubbulls.com/news/2022/3/8/womens-basketball-woolley-named-mac-freshman-of-the-year-three-bulls-earn-postseason-honors.aspx
  3. Then do not say "if". Say "when". Remember what happened when Linus said if the Great Pumpkin comes rather than when the Great Pumpkin comes.
  4. Easy,be prepared to be there a long time and to get bad customer service.
  5. Forty years ago today UB played in its first modern NCAA tournament (after the creation of three divisions for athletics) when they played at the College of Staten Island. Despite being under .500 for the year UB qualified after an improbable run to win the SUNYAC Tournament. CSI was a top 5 team that year, but was so afraid of UB they played Dean Smith's Four Corners offense for much of the second half, so that UB could not make a run at them. UB lost 64-53 and would not return to the NCAA until 2015.
  6. Book both weekends now and cancel if you will be going for of the two October home games. That is what I did.
  7. Like a fine wine, this has aged very well. For those who are going book your hotels now, before the Bills schedule is announced. Last year I need a room after the Nebraska game. Prices were through the roof. The Town Suites across from the airport had a room for over $450.00 for one night. I ended up next door and still paid over $350.00 for rooms that are usually about $125.00.
  8. The most important thing is for the game to be played quickly with very few fouls so that it is over in time for ht State of the Union at 9.
  9. This totally inaccurate. Being rated by ESPN does not change what non-employees of UB Athletics can do to convince a potential student athlete from attending UB. As to the second point, if a topic was set up why should this specific recruit come to UB and people post about the benefits of UB, even academically, that would be a violation per the website. Simple way to remember what anyone can do with potential student athletes is simple: Do NOT interact with them in way.
  10. is this the point you are referring to? The donations have nothing to do with trying to talk a recruit into coming to UB. What is talked about on the board is recruiting/commitment status of potential student athletes.
  11. Yes. People are just deciding how much they will donate based upon outcomes.
  12. It all goes into the pot, although I believe there are bonuses sometimes towards groups on giving day. BrooklynBull is a better resource when it comes to that. Everyone here pledges what they want to or can feel comfortable donating. Then everyone makes their actual pledge to the basketball team(s) on giving day by reporting it UB that day. Giving Day this year is between Noon April 26 and Noon April 27. For the last few years someone has indicated that if $15,000.00 is donated to athletics in total that they will match the donation. If everyone here follows through it will help unlock the matching donation. If this will be your first donation to UB Athletics, please read the information here:
  13. My guess is that Homecoming will be against Miami. It is in October and the Toledo game is a little too late for decent weather.
  14. I have already made my extra donations for the year, except for giving day, so I am tapped out. For those that do this please make the pledge official between Noon April 26 and Noon April 27, so that the funds are counted in UB Giving Day totals.
  15. Like the men last night, win a get a trip to Cleveland. A Northern Illinois loss would send them there as well.
  16. https://www.lordandstephens.com/obituary/WilliamCoach-Dando?fbclid=IwAR2s7CjYbDaAYjUHnpBfmDRqr0uTNMiwQGHXMQbA67JJXb34gN3NTKtDyso
  17. The magic number to lock up a trip to Cleveland is 1 for both the men and women. One win or a loss by Northern Illinois will clinch a spot in Cleveland for both teams.
  18. The winning coach in UB football history passed away on February 15, 2022. It was Coach Dando who gave me a chance to get involved with UB football and UB Athletics. I am forever in debt to Coach Dando for giving me the position. He will be sorely missed by all in the UB Football community. https://ubbulls.com/news/2022/2/17/ub-mourns-the-passing-of-all-time-winningest-football-coach-bill-dando.aspx
  19. True Blue is getting major backing from the University to help build overall school spirit. http://www.buffalo.edu/ubnow/stories/2022/02/true-blue-launch.html
  20. Everyone seems concerned that to win the MAC UB would have to beat Toledo and Ohio in back to back games. Unless the seven or eight seed pulls off an upset teams three trough six would have to beat Ohio and Toledo on back to back nights. Even if UB made it to the two seed and either Ohio or Toledo dropped to the three seed, barring an upset by the sixth or eighth seed, the back to back wins would still have to take place, unless either one were to lose in the semis. Basically, get to Cleveland in three through six and the path to the title will be the same, barring upsets, having to beat Ohio and Toledo back to back. The magic number to get to Cleveland is 5 wins and losses by Bowling Green. Get to Cleveland and just win.
