  1. That is because the announcers were not in Syracuse.
  2. it was obvious right after the drop that he lost it in the lights. That is what happens when you play a game in a TV studio (if anyone has been to Ford Field and did not get the feel that it was a TV studio has never been inside a TV studio) and not a stadium.
  3. For those doing late year tax planning a donation to the Football Excellence Fund will be matched up to a total of $2,500.00 by a former Bull. https://twitter.com/82bulls50/status/1341076245401001987
  4. So without any link or source everyone here believes that this first post from some guy who signed up on the board in the middle of the game. Whether it pans out or not believing some first time poster to have inside information at a Big 10 school is a little bit ridiculous. Some place on the old board there was a post that Jim Hofher was talked about on a Syracuse postgame show as possible replacement for Greg Robinson. There was absolutely no basis to that caller's comment. I should know because I was the one who called into the show and started the rumor. The show was being hosted by the son of one of my housemates at UB and I was having some fun with the call. The host knew it was me when I called in. So just be wary of unsubstantiated comments, it could be just somebody trying to troll someone else's fan base.
  5. Just a thought, why would Syracuse play in dome with no fans allowed. Given monetary constraints and in honor of John Thompson they should reopen Manley Fieldhouse.
  6. The SUn Belt Conference championship game between Louisiana and Coastal Carolina has been canceled. There is some discussion of having those two meeting the Camellia Bowl.
  7. Also in the Gill - Quinn era the only signing day was in February.
  8. Until the vaccine makes the condition very very rare.
  9. Pure guess, by if Patterson puts up big numbers and UB wins big on Friday night, I do not see them in Arizona Bowl. If they win as described, it would make UB an attractive team for a high profile - high paying bowl. I could see them playing on New Year's Day in either the Citrus (nee Tangerine Bowl) or the Birmingham Bowl. They could also play on January 2nd in either the Gator or Outback Bowls. The games all have an open spot with no conference tie in. If that happens the Citrus Bowl would be the game my choice for them, based on not going in 1958.
  10. Currently there is a player for Florida, who had tested positive over the summer for COVID19, in a medically induced coma.* It is not yet know if his collapsing on the court on Saturday is COVID19 related. Whether or not the condition that caused him to collapse is COVID19 related this takes you wonder why college sports are being played at all. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/12/sports/ncaafootball/coronavirus-college-sports-athlete-pay.html I have been against playing this year at all. As much as I am enjoying what UB football has done, I still wish they were not playing. * https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/sec/2020/12/14/florida-keyontae-johnson-medically-induced-coma-collapse/6545308002/
  11. Well if we are going decade+ Rodriguez Maier Price 1979
  12. Projection. There have been very few actual invites so far as a lot will depend on next weekend. Dollar General Lending Tree is Western Kentucky against Georgia State.
  13. That's certainly a good sign. The city didn't want any part of it. Most likely meaning less of a case. Also don't forget all the witnesses are players on both teams, so it's going to turn into a giant "he said/she said". Generally leads to a dropping situation. The fact that it is still in the City of Tonawanda Court means that the Niagara County DA has yet to indict him on a felony, even though he has been charged with a felony. To prosecute as a felony the case must be moved to either Niagara County Court or Niagara County Supreme Court. That is good news. The adjournment until March can also be related to the COVID situation. Although some courts had reopened many, are "closing" down and there is a backlog for all existing cases in the system. By closing they are only hearing cases that must be heard, especially initial arraignments after an arrest. After that preliminary event, cases are being continued while speedy trial requirements have been suspended by the governor.
  14. It does not matter if we get the best paying bowl (we should), we need to get the best paying combination for the conference overall. The money is split up.
  15. One ESPN pick has UB in the Camellia Bowl against Coastal Carolina. Ordinarily. I would that this year that would be a great match up, but we play them at home next year. CBS has UB back at the Dollar General Lending Tree Bowl against Louisiana.
  16. His case is on the calendar in court today. Might be that he has worked the case out.
  17. Would UB be able to pull off the facilities to jump up that high? I think the only issue would be for football. If they can borrow against future revenues from the conference to upgrade, then yes.
  18. Watch what happens with Nebraska. They and the Big 10 are not happy with each other right now. Nebraska wanted to play football even if the conference decided against it for the whole year. They also sought to play a non-conference game when they had a COVID cancellation. The Big 10 also wants all members to be AAU members. Nebraska is no longer a member. They may look to bail and try to go back to the BIG12, where their real rivals play. If they go, UB would become a likely replacement based on academics and TV market.
  19. UB was between Erie and Cleveland and turned around the buses. https://twitter.com/PeteThamel/status/1334943269411823625 A correct of the name has been tweeted.
  20. This should clinch the East and a trip to Detroit.
