Case adjourned until December 10, 2020. The case is still in North Tonawanda City Court. If the Niagara County District Attorney intends to prosecute as a felony, there will have to be an indictment from a grand jury and then the case will move to either Niagara County Court or Niagara County Supreme Court.

It creates major issues. The NCAA I believe has not said anything about the maximum scholarships allowed. If they do not do something for next year schools will have to make s decision about keeping a player on roster for an extra year or bringing in a new freshman.

Why are you are downplaying UB's academics?

Has anyone ever thought that part of a reason that an athlete selects a school is for academics and that are not going to school to play a sport but to learn, get a degree and a good job after graduation?

The NCAA is allowing games as of November 25. I think it is 5 out of conference and 20 MAC games.

Siena has opted out of their early season tournament that has been moved to Orlando because of the 14 day quarantine required returning from Florida. https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1310738080094134272 As of this morning Illinois and Indiana are on the quarantine list in New York. If the schedule makers pay attention to that it would eliminate Northern Illinois and Ball State from the cross over game. As of today neither Ohio nor Michigan on the list. Not sure what Syracuse did after playing at North Carolina.

The release from UB last week said they were awaiting an ok from the Department of Health. They could say no to UB because any lawsuits would be against the state if something happened to a player. The is no clear direct liability for the state if something happened to a Syracuse player. As for Army, they are exempt from state regulation; something called the Constitution prevents New York from regulating Army. Think back to high school (if you went on New York) and McColloch v. Maryland.

Probably by the end of the week. They may be waiting on an ok from Albany (Department of Health) that UB will be allowed to play.

They should not be playing this year. And likely neither should any sports for the entire ACADEMIC year.

Nationwide low positivity testing and slower spread. Shut downs for flare ups. State by state mandatory mask requirements. An ok from the CDC and FDA doctors that it is safe to play. Winter sports may have to be canceled as well, the above are not met. Remember people are only as safe as the least safe person they meet. If the entire 2020-2021 academic year has no collegiate sports I am fine with that. The health and safety of students is more important than the money they generate or the entertainment they provide.

I hope not. I think it is too risky. What has changed since August? Not much. Has anything been learned about the long term effects since August ? No. How many games have been canceled already because of COVID? At least three off the top of my head: Virginia v. Virginia Tech, BYU v. Army and Houston v. Memphis. Will UB or any other school be able to get the necessary insurance to cover any potential law suits? Doubtful.

Most tournaments like the Paradise Jam are looking for bubbles to play. A lot are going to Orlando. They would have to find a place and dates for it. Orlando is pretty full already with the bigger tournaments. The reports are that the tournaments would be without fans.

All about the money. Big 10 only brings back football. Non-revenue sports, I wonder of some ADs and presidents know they even sponsor them.
