  1. If you are counting the 3 out of conference games as the games in the Paradise Jam, they do not count as three games. I believe they only count as two games for scheduling purposes. Also my guess is the chance of UB going to St. Thomas is slim to none. I do not see any schools leaving the contiguous 48 states for any similar events.
  2. Akron will be dropping sports today. https://www.wksu.org/post/university-akron-cut-athletics-teams#stream/0 It seems that they may be in the worst financial state of any school in the MAC. They have 21 sports (track and field counts as two teams for men and women - indoor and outdoor). That allows them to drop six. The NCAA voted against a waiver from having 16 teams this year to be a FBS program.
  3. Probably. Should have gone to 22 games.
  4. Akron is in real trouble. These are huge cuts. https://www.cleveland.com/education/2020/05/university-of-akron-to-eliminate-six-of-11-colleges-as-part-of-cost-saving-measures-due-to-coronavirus-pandemic.html
  5. Plus every one in college who have used up all of their eligibility.
  6. As of now the new rule which has yet be approved by the NCAA would not go into effect until the 2021-2022 academic year.
  7. Evin Ksiezarczyk to the Falcons to join Steven Means. Ladarius Mack to the Bears to join Khalil Mack.
  8. I think part of the reason selections from the MAC were down was because of the lack of ability of teams to bring players in for individual workouts. So a GM is faced do I take a player from SEC that ends up a bust or risk a player from the MAC that as a mid to late round pick is a bust? I'm going with the SEC kid.
  9. Dyaisha Fair was named to the Her Hoops State Fab 15 Freshmen. https://ubbulls.com/news/2020/4/23/womens-basketball-dyaisha-fair-named-a-her-hoop-stats-fab-15-freshman.aspx I guess this is a good Freshman 15, rather than the usual Freshman 15.
  10. Jenkins has severe sanctions against him personally. The decision is here: https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/infractions/decisions/Apr2020INF_UniversityBuffaloSUNYPUBLICNRAgreement.pdf
  11. From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/college/uw/2020/04/19/former-uw-whitewater-coach-lance-leipold-has-elevated-buffalos-program/5136737002/
  12. The MAC along with The American Athletic Conference, the Mountain West, Sun Belt and Conference USA have petitioned the NCAA for flexibility in sport, sponsorship football attendance and football scheduling for four years because of financial distress as a result of COVID19 pandemic. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/15/sports/conferences-petition-ncaa-seeking-to-cut-sports.html
  13. If all of the conferences expand the conference schedules the NCAA should adopt a rule that was being talked about on early March. You are not eligible for the tournament if you are under .500 in conference play. That would open it up to more mid-majors. Getting schools that go 10-2 in non-conference and 7-11 and win two game in the conference tournament to have 20 wins and go to the dance will end. If the conferences want their games to mean more, they will this way.
  14. An embargo. People who violate embargoes are not given information in advance. To see one at work put on CNBC tomorrow morning just before 8:30 AM. When they announce the new claims for unemployment, they have the numbers, but sit and wait until exactly 8:30 before announcing them.
  15. Some guy named Naaman Roosevelt, not sure if you remember him.
  16. Sources across the internet indicate that the decision will be announced in about 25 minutes.
  17. 22 would make sense, You get rid of the divisions and everybody plays everybody twice. Balanced schedule. No team is punished or benefits from playing the strong schools in the other division twice or the weakers ones twice.
  18. Branden Oliver signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. https://ticats.ca/article/tiger-cats-add-three-americans-including-former-nfl-running-back-oliver
  19. I had no clue talking to a player is a violation, it’s not like we are bribing or forcing them to commit to our school. Telling them that we’d love to have them on our team should be allowed Nobody other than designated people within the Athletic Department are allowed to recruit a potential student athlete to UB. Can you talk to someone, yes. Can you tell them why they should pick UB? No. If you have any questions if you can do something check here: https://ubbulls.com/sports/2019/6/17/compliance-index.aspx Still have questions, contact Compliance directly. I have attended college fairs for UB for nearly 20 years. At some point during every fair someone one asks about athletics and whether they could play for UB. I would give them all the same answer. Yes, we have that sport. For more information contact the coach directly, which you can do through the website. I have no idea why anyone would want to talk with a high school junior/senior or a JUCO looking to transfer. Trolling, no. Educating people, yes. Protecting UB, yes. Prior history of violations comes into play the next time a violation comes up. Why you would want to cause a violation and sanctions against UB is beyond me and probably every other person on this board.
  20. As not only a person but probably the only person who reports things to Compliance, I am doing what is right for UB. If UB Compliance can stop something quickly before it becomes a major violation, good. There have been violations on this Board, which were reported and remedied. Reports to compliance on violations have been reported by former UB athletes who committed violations as well as employees of UB who have inadvertently violated NCAA rules. Are you aware that UB already has been found to have had three violations, two of which were major violations in men's basketball? https://web3.ncaa.org/lsdbi/search/miCaseView/report?id=102173 and https://web3.ncaa.org/lsdbi/search/miCaseView/report?id=101825. and https://web3.ncaa.org/lsdbi/search/miCaseView/report?id=101864 People may be talking about their thoughts about UB Athletics, but in doing so they may be admitting to violations. When they are seen, they will be reported. Do I care what anybody on this board thinks of me for doing this, NO! I have reported violations that I have seen on this Board, violations committed by former UB athletes and violations by employees of UB Athletics. All of the reports have been appreciated. You cannot be a fan of UB Athletics and not care about violations. They have to be stopped when they are minor. How would you feel if you got a phone call from the NCAA Committee on infractions and be told that you have been committing violations of the NCAA rules and if we prove it UB will be banned from bowl games and post season tournaments? If you do not have a problem getting that phone call, then are you really a fan of UB or are just out to do what can for yourself with no cares about how it impacts UB, UB Athletics and their reputations. Think what you want of me, I will continue to report what I believe are violations so that can be stopped, while they are small and hopefully will not lead to sanctions against UB.
  21. For those interested in a photographic history of UB Football you should follow @shollander2 on Twitter (https://twitter.com/shollander2). He is posting many great photos. They are also commented upon identifying players by those who know the players either by site or number.
