  1. Apparently Valpo has stuck out with all their top candidates. 🤷‍♂️
  2. NIL money, other than the top 1% of 1% is coming via donors who have started collectives. The collective is a private entity who raises money and pays players to do meet and greets, community service, autographs, etc. It’s pay for play bc the athlete has no real market value.
  3. According to Google, Groce is $650k, Boals is $580k and Kowalczyk is $530k. Senderoff is $285k (as of right now).
  4. They aren’t mutually exclusive. You can do both.
  5. According to #sources it wasn’t the contract length. Others have hinted the issue, but I won’t say bc I haven’t confirmed. But it was of the personal family variety decision. Also, I believe SUNY max contract length is 5 years. But maybe someone can confirm that too?
  6. 2 different things. Athletics employees fundraise for athletics facilities. NIL is Name Image and Likeness. As in the same way Josh Allen reps specific companies like West Herr even though the Bills are Northtown Auto. Athletics employees can’t fundraise for NCAA student athletes to get personal endorsements. It has to come from the outside.
  7. None of the above. Again, the school isn’t involved. At all. It’s donors and fans. They set it up, fundraise and hire. Many are set up as non profits if the goal is to get the athletes to do charitable work for their pay.
  8. SUNY has restrictions on contract lengths. Not sure what that is, though.
  9. I think many of you are missing the boat on NIL. The Athletics Dept isn’t supposed to be involved in it. It’s literally all of us as donors, fans, etc. Check out the Toledo article…. Importantly, NIL collectives are not directly associated with a university. They’re not supposed to communicate with a program about prospects. Furthermore, they are not able to give out deals to recruits, in pay-for-play deals. https://www.on3.com/nil/news/toledo-nil-collective-friends-of-rocky-becomes-first-mac-collective/
  10. Please stop feeding the troll. Dude is hilariously uninformed.
  11. So do we have odds on what page this thread gets to until we have an announcement? 😂
  12. Typically the video board company buys them back to re-sell. It’s not like they just throw them in a dumpster. Now, what is the cost of the used boards and is it feasible? Who knows. But it’s worth a shot.
  13. Most likely the Associate HC at North Texas will get the gig. Will be a huge push locally for that, but anything can happen for sure.
  14. MSU player barely tipped the ball on the way up, which was the reason for the air ball out of bounds. K-State awarded the ball after the replay review.
  15. If he was the guy that shouldn’t effect anything. He can do all that post-announcement. They get paid enough to figure it out on the fly. Often coaches families don’t make the move for a while.
  16. Updated language about 2nd time transfers from the NCAA…
  17. Horns Up is just an uniformed troll. Best not to feed him. Unfortunately the site doesn’t have an ignore feature.
  18. Yes, you are correct. But it’s not a collective, at least I don’t think. It’s a way to help connect athletes and businesses. Collectives literally pay kids.
  19. Former UB/Canisius assistant as well. UB 2000-2005ish era.
  20. That’s not a collective. It’s the department educating the kids about NIL.
