  1. I would like to add in a bit about the overall growth of the program. Remember last year, the team was in utter turmoil, staff was quitting, players were lost, nothing was going right with a record to match. They then put it together and scraped their way into Cleveland and nearly (should have) took care of Toledo. Now in Burke’s second year, first full year having a complete offseason, we’re looking at a team that’s shown they can fight and win games. They struggle at times yes, but it’s the second year of a new era with completely new players. And within 2 years we’re once again talking about not only going to Cleveland, but winning games there. So there is a ton of positives to take here, and we can applaud what BB has done so far. If she keeps it up within the coming years the team may earn some rings. However it’s worth noting some areas that need attention. Will the team be stable when Watson leaves (this of course begs the question of if it’s really BB building the wins)? Can the staff and players consistently stay year in year out with BBs intensity? And lastly if Burke brings this program back to life, will she stay when a bigger school knocks? Just some things to think about while we’re getting excited
  2. I can confirm that there is absolutely nothing around campus to promote sporting events. Outside of friends and true blue, I can probably only mention 3 times I’ve ever heard UB sports brought up by other people. Half the people (and I wish I was joking) don’t even know that we’re D1. There is 0 life for our teams around campus
  3. Not sure if it’s been posted yet, but this is the company she’s keeping. A big showing tonight could possibly put her behind only Clark
  4. I’ll go with the under. Thinking the ball gets spread around a lot against a weak team. She could easily go over, but I bet that’s not the game plan.
  5. Why am I not surprised that I look away when we’re winning, and 2 minutes later I check again and we’re getting doubled
  6. Extrapolating 20-30 ppg for the remaining 11 (for missing the tournament) would put her between 669-779. Each game in Cleveland would increase by 20+ points. So we could possibly see a 800 point season. Simply beating third would be an incredible accomplishment, but to take down Fair or even Dillard would be unprecedented, as both of those seasons ended with a banner in Alumni, giving each of them an NCAA game, with Ciera having 2 to put up more numbers. I may poke around and see if I can find the regular season record outside of tournaments.
  7. Yeah. Despite them leading our team I never really thought Chatman, Smith, and Adams were that great. Even last year they were never doing much spectacular. So we basically have a team of rookies and a couple iffy returns, hard to build on that in year 1. That’s just me though
  8. Watson just set the single game UB record over Dillard (previously 43)
  9. That could come back to bite us. If we settle for “a little bit better” we might end up with a lot of mediocrity. But if the seasons aren’t abysmal we’ll be left not knowing when to move on, at least Mo made it clear when he failed.
  10. Ok, so now when Alnutt gets a good candidate that we all support, and said candidate doesn’t turn the program around, are we going to blame Alnutt for a bad hire again?
  11. Love watching all these Toledo commercials on my tv where they pretend they’re not academically a bottom 3 MAC school
  12. If they didn’t have some sloppy turnovers within the last minute we could be holding a lead at half. Time for the customary UB 10 minute stretch where it all falls apart
  13. I would like to petition the change of thread name to “next coach out - Mo Linguist”
  14. Happy days everybody. Buffalo couldn’t afford to buy out Mo’s contract so we got Bama to do it for us. Roll tide
  15. In other news, NIU finally rid themselves of their atrocious court
  16. Yes but I believe this reinforces the “lost year, not lost program” narrative. 3 point percentage can be improved in an offseason/new recruits. What’s important is they’re looking better apart from that. Still have hope for the future. Go bulls
  17. According to ESPN, we technically still have an offer out on an uncommitted 3 star QB (Braden Graham). Looks like he’ll end up heading elsewhere but hey it’s there
  18. Couple years ago in the Ellicott tunnel there was a bunch of chalk written everywhere saying Buff State was better than UB, kinda laughed it off
  19. Mid major programs getting battered
  20. Yeah but why would the Bills want our offense
