Top things I would imagine kids put at the top of where they want to corn, 1. Chance to play in the tournament, 2. Play in front of a decent crowd(small or large but into the game) 3. Playing time
These aren't in order but when you compare UB with the low level power do schools like ole miss and cal have an advantage over UB here?
One thing I will say about this missing coach and recruiting is: access. Another coach would provide access to contacts that maybe someone on the current staff doesn’t have. Example was coach Jenkins. He was big in the JUCO circuit. He could’ve established a pipeline there. A coach who is dedicated to in season recruiting has access. Example: coach Hogdson. So in regards to the final coach to the staff...yes I think it was a big hinderance during the season and still big now. Perhaps a coach dedicated to recruiting could’ve kept Freeman. Yes the playing seems leveled now but other schools are already getting a jump on recruiting for 2021 and beyond. We still are recruiting for now.
There are only a few people on a staff allowed to recruit, as I know you well know. Explain how 1 HC + 2 AC (all with plenty of other duties) is the same as 1 HC + 3 AC (1 whose only job is to recruit)? It's a deficit, no matter how you want to sugar coat it.
Also, I'm not sure, but can't you ask compliance yourself?
