  1. Reading Blue Ribbon Yearbook's Buffalo summary and here's some quotes that jumped out to me from Whitesell that give an idea of what some of the guys roles will be this year: On David Skogman “I think Skogman has great potential. This summer, he really made a jump. He’s much more confident. He can shoot the 3. He's got an opportunity to play heavy minutes with a chance to start.” On Kuluel Mading: "He's thin, but he's got a great upside. He can really run. He's more of a tall three than anything.” On Kidtrell Blocker: "He's got a lot of talent, he's got good potential, but he's a little bit behind because he missed a month of the summer” On Zaakir Williamson "He's a five/four, wide-body kid. We've got a lot of good depth inside, so it's a luxury for him to be able to take our time and develop him. He can get extra reps in practice -kind of what we did with David Skogman a couple years back.” He also mentions Brewton providing a spark off the bench, so presumably Jack will be starting with Skogman as an option for a bigger starting lineup.

  2. Lance left because he got paid. Same reason why they all leave. Same reason why Turner Gill left. Money. When a window opens up to be a head coach at a “power 5” school, you jump on it.

  3. If Marks isn’t able to run this year (like he could last year), then why do people think that Myers will be able too? The OL is still missing those same pieces from last year. I don’t see the point in blaming any one player, or position group for that matter. It is a team sport after all. Now that I type it out, I feel that if the running game isn’t working, then the last thing you’d want to do is add another running element to the mix. Wouldn’t you want to keep the best passer on the field, to balance things out?

  4. His athleticism opens up more options, it allows the coaching staff to try different things within an option style offense, running a more effective RPO style offense. With Kyle, you aren’t able to get that. With Myers, and THREE running backs? It creates endless possibilities. Vantrease has been shown to be nothing more than a game manager. Especially this season. When he is under center, the offense is both predictable and uninspiring. So why not try Myers? Why not try to make adjustments and to fix what is clearly broken. It’s better than sticking with what they are currently doing which is basically rolling over and surrendering meaningful drives. They should have had that figured out over the summer but here they are heading into their 6th game at a crossroads. If you want to witness Buffalo continuing down the path they are in, be my guest. Me however, I want to see a change, and I think everyone here should be open to it.

  5. Correct.. I saw this document: https://d1docket.blogspot.com/p/2021-22-docket-sheet.html If you take out the MEAC and SWAC teams, which really don't do us any good from a NET standpoint and the teams we are already playing, you are correct in that there are very few options. Hartford, Merrimack, and Colgate are all intriguing options to me.

  6. My guess is they are trying to exhaust ever D1 option before settling on the second non D1 game. I believe the Twitter account is called D1 Docket but they do a good job of schedule announcements and have a website showing what teams still haven’t announced schedules. I think we are about one of 30

  7. They’re very young and inexperienced. They don’t look all that bad for having new faces

  8. I kinda think that Lance left because he was sick of the treatment or lack of respect from the Buffalo area. Some of his TV interviews were rather salty or defensive. I believe he was just waiting for the next ship out of the harbor.
