I mean all 3 programs had much better seasons than us. The recruits GH3 are bringing in are not of a higher caliber, most have no D1 offers or offers from MAAC schools and other low majors. and yes, I think it’s smart to bring in local kids and build a pipeline, even just as a walk-on. It looks like Hodgson, who just had a much better first season than GH3, is picking up on this and even has Adam March giving the team NIL who funded Blue Collar U

We did just watch a season where the team won 3 games and were blown out in most others. Which blue blood schools offered the guys that were recently signed? While the point is not completely off base, the all time scorer here should be more than capable of getting a look from the supposed top school in the area. Much like Khalil Mack's brother not originally being offered by UB (before receiving big time backlash), it's not a super wise decision.

I am not sure that I would want to follow Calipari. Leaves UMass followed by NCAA violations. Leaves Memphis Followed by NCAA violations. Leaves Kentucky... I think the only head coaching job he had that he left that was not sanctioned by the NCAA was the Nets.

Danny Hurley seems like a perfect fit at UConn, doesn't come across like a Kentucky coach in my opinion Oates on the other hand to me screams Kentucky

I'm just not sure how we as a 3 win team last year don't even try to recruit the all time scorer from wny. The previous #1 was Welch, who had a very solid 5 year career.

Tahj Staveskie averaged 10.5 ppg, 4.5 assists and 4 rebounds per game as a freshman at Canisius and was a big reason the Griffs were picked to finish 3rd in the MAAC preseason poll. He only played in two games last year due to an injury. The rumor is that he either didn't rehab it properly or something happened that prevented him from returning. The injury was not supposed to be season ending so it either worsened or he chose to sit out games as some Canisius fans speculate. On the surface, he would be a quality transfer for UB and would probably instantly slot in as their starting point guard. Zxavier Long is more of a hustle guy. 7 ppg and 6 rebounds as a sophomore but missed all of last year. Would be a decent add if healthy. These aren't the type of guys UB would've targeted in the past with Oats but wouldn't be bad pickups considering where the program currently is. It's hard to get experienced transfers right now with our NIL situation. Gotta take what you can get! (Don't know if the rumors of them being interested in UB are true or false)

The one was preseason all MAAC It wouldn't be a bad pick up especially since he barely played this season

We didn't deride our past productive transfer from a MAAC squad in Rider (Pierce - 1st Team All-MAC). We are looking at players from D2, freaking Brown, etc. If we get experienced players and they fit in our rotation, I'll take a competent PG from ANYWHERE.

Canisius board has a post with "word on campus" is Tahj Staveskie and Xzavier Long "both looking to follow Cage to UB". I always liked Tahj's game and he could/would really push Fulcher for the PG spot we need. Long rebounds well and could/would be a nice replacement for Graham, though unsure if he would just overlap with Batchelor.
