  1. Listening to this podcast now. Highlights from the first 20 minutes or so: BB says there’s 5 returning players. Current roster lists 6, though one is in the portal. Eludes to some discussions she had with the roster she inherited and what may have led to them to go in the portal (though obviously no specific players named). Schedule for the upcoming season is mostly set, possibly by FLJ before she left, so we might have some good opponents this year.
  2. Graham Dolan, who transferred to D3 Babson the year after they won their men's basketball national championship. He appeared in no games at UB and does not appear in the record books as an all-time letterwinner. I'm surprised @BrooklynBull did not know considering that he posted about Dolan's transfer on the old board. https://www.ubfan.com/board/index.php/topic,16863.msg189094.html#msg189094
  3. A Buffalo native and a school that won their mens basketball NCAA national championship by one point.
  4. He will be at least the second UB player to go to a team that won a NCAA men's basketball championship. The other player also appeared in as many (UB) games as Malik did. Unknown if he participated in pickup games in Tonawanda.
  5. No, I meant going to Rutgers isn’t going to be as lucrative as going to Ohio State or Georgia.
  6. 4 OOC games Home: FCS buy game. Prefer Albany, Stony Brook, Colgate, etc to build college football in NY Away: Buy game. Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland, BC, etc. Every few years might need some SEC or OSU money to subsidize less wealthy programs that can't give us a lot of money. And it's good to branch out on occasion too. Home/Away: 1-1 against UConn, UMass, Temple, etc On occasion if you have UMass at home and a FCS trade out the FCS for another (hopefully better) team.
  7. Exactly. Alumni are all over the region as well as prospective students. For the same reason Nebraska plays at Wyoming, we should be playing UConn and UMass no matter how bad their programs are. And for people living under a rock for the last decade, they might think UConn is a huge win.
  8. She's a finance major and both programs are AACSB accredited. Might need to retake a class or two, but much of the senior year of the finance program at UB is a bunch of electives IIRC.
  9. And good on her for doing so. Most of that team is going pro in something other than basketball. Get a good education if you’re on scholarship.
  10. I mostly put that gif in as a joke, but it’s interesting that you say that considering NIL didn’t exist back in Cam Newton’s days. SEC bagmen still existed though.
  11. Grad transfer Roy Baker (played for UB for four seasons) headed to Chicago
  12. Agreed. I always got the impression that FLJ would want to go out on her own terms. I wonder what pressure the department will have on her to win. I really hope she doesn't have a bad first few years and abruptly "retires" 😞
  13. Confirmed during the spring game, both are still there.
  14. After the spring game, who do you think makes the start in the first game of the season
  15. To the surprise of exactly nobody, Lexi McNabb is going to Syracuse.
  16. If they win: shows how good this team was and could compete in the ACC. If they lose: shows how much of a talent gap there is between P5 and G5. I think they'll be a .500 team at best this upcoming year. ACC is loaded.
  17. She says that now but if Dawn Staley offered her the playing time and shots FLJ was giving her, I have a hard time believing that she wouldn’t choose USC
  18. UConn and UMass, no matter how good or bad they are, are good games for us. Better than Old Dominion and Nevada (Coastal Carolina would be here too if they didn’t improve since the series was scheduled).
  19. I have offered on multiple occasions to help dig up the track free of charge. I will sign whatever waivers of liability are necessary.
