  1. Completely agree. I don't think the owners can expect public funds for a soccer specific stadium. As with nearly every public subsidy with sports stadiums, it will not generate nearly enough tax revenue to cover the subsidy. It looks like attendance for the Rinos has fizzled out as well. I think the USL is pretty greedy/ridiculous for wanting a soccer specific stadium for teams when the average team only draws a few thousand spectators. It would be one thing if the league was more stable, but I see this being a huge money pit.
  2. Maybe members of the last Ohio MAC Football Champion squad are planning some of their legacy giving as well.
  3. I don't think the five figure donors will appreciate my third down antics. I'll stay outside with the people in the same tax bracket as me. Cool giveaway for people that are interested in that though
  4. Yep. Do teams still run sprints in the AA hallways by the CFA tunnel? Hoping that the Fieldhouse may have eliminated some of that.
  5. I thought they did well with the way they put graphics up. The AA lobby and area near the locker rooms used to be all plain. Now it has a ton of school spirit and shows the legacy of the program. I am slightly biased though, my SO has her picture on the wall.
  6. https://buffalonews.com/2019/11/19/developers-hope-10000-seat-stadium-could-bring-united-soccer-league-to-buffalo/ If the USL didn't require soccer-specific stadiums, UB Stadium could be renovated to be the perfect venue for the USL team. UB gets rid of the track and has better sign lines. USL team gets a larger venue and club seats. These stadiums usually run $20m-$30m, and it looks like they may be trying to obtain public funds.
  7. Wow all of those schools have lower (more competitive) acceptance rates than Akron
  8. We already have a top notch facility. It's just shared with students. Get students out of AA (expect the actual arena).
  9. Maybe Donyell wants to come back lol
  10. Within the first couple minutes of my first UB men's basketball game Javon McCrea missed a dunk. It's gotten much better since then 😉
  11. Bona started sucking when the game started slowing down. Also helped that they hit a ton of their shots.
  12. Sorry, my wording was ambiguous. He definitely was not a top recruit. According to 247 he was our second best recruit ever when he signed. Granted there is recency bias in those rankings
  13. In football, Tyree and Licata had some higher offers and performed well. Men's basketball, Watt was one of the top ranked recruits and performed well. McCrea initially verballed to a Big East school. We're witnessing why Dyaisha Fair was offered by a bunch of higher programs.
  14. 10 wins and none of those players are in the NFL right now. So he’s done a lot with a little. I’m not happy about blowing huge leads but saying he’s garbage is inaccurate
  15. The MoBull pass might be good for those people then. $15/seat is less than a Sabres nosebleed ticket.
  16. If $175 deterred people from buying season tickets...I don’t know what to say. $6 a game, or around $10-$11 if you only go to men’s. Free parking. Two teams that has more success over the past 5 years than the majority of D1 programs. How would the new potential STH know what the price was before the season anyway?
  17. One of the cheapest hits I’ve seen. Completely unacceptable.
  18. https://ubbulls.com/news/2019/11/13/womens-basketball-signs-a-pair-to-national-letters-of-intent.aspx Cheyenne McEvans had offers from about 20 D1 programs including: Wichita State, Butler, Marquette, Detroit Mercy, Niagara, Oakland, Ohio, Toledo, WMU, Indiana State I can't find a list of offers for Sophia Öjhammar, however her name is spelled incorrectly in the UB press release
  19. Impressive showing from Fair and Onwuka, for the third straight game. We're managing without Summer but she cannot come back soon enough.
  20. That cannot possibly be correct, they played Siena tonight and Bonnies play in the prestigious A-10.
  21. Game of runs so far but we’ve been in control.
