  1. He apparently had a deeper connection with the coach than the school. Not a Bull imo. We should move on.
  2. The BG WR's just torched our CBs - whether blocking on runs to the outside or running right past our secondary on the long ball. It was nothing but big plays in the second half and we had nobody who could match up. I don't understand how that team lost to Akron. Either we got a helluva lot worse or BG played their most inspired game of the year because they were definitely the better team on the field on Saturday. Our weakness was exposed. Is it true that 2 CB's entered the portal prior to this game? If so, those guys should be ashamed for leaving their teammates out to dry and honestly shouldn't get another look at an FBS program elsewhere. Leaving mid-season is BS.
  3. The locals made it very clear that UB doesn't represent anything East of ROC.
  4. Dutch is right. Boone, North Carolina metro has just over 50k people and managed 31k (103% of capacity) fans for the App St game against Coastal Carolina. Buffalo, NY has 1.125Million people and our game against the same Coastal team brought out 16k - and it looked like nearly all of them were students. There's one huge difference between these cities outside of their general population - there is NOTHING ELSE to do in Boone, NC. It is THE big ticket in town and people come from all over to attend games. Our city is too preoccupied with the Bills to possibly pay any attention to the Bulls. I am still convinced of that.
  5. The Wagner game had 13k, despite the lie that they're claiming now.
  6. We're bringing in like 12k fans per game coming off a top-25 season...there's nothing attractive about that. The success of the Bills is the death of the Bulls.
  7. Does anyone remember when we lost to Albany in Lance Leipold's second year? Maybe we should take it easy on this team.
  8. You're not naïve, just extremely defensive. I am pretty sure his comment was directed at the poor career decision by LL, not your take on the matter.
  9. Vantrease is a Tyrod Taylor type of QB - smart, protects the ball, but isn't going to do anything flashy or carry the team to victories on his own. Perhaps Matt Myers will add an element that would help us move the ball but I put very little blame on Vantrease for our current offensive woes. The problem is our run game. I'm no expert but wasn't the success of our run game last year based on a lot of zone blocking and stretch plays? Everyone was in motion on every snap, yet now we seem to be playing a more basic handoff up the middle type of game and our linemen are struggling to open gaps, let alone reach the second level. Why not switch up the playcalling to something this team is a bit more familiar with? This feels a bit like Jeff Quinn's first year as a HC where he committed to his strategy without considering the personnel he inherited. I'm not sure what the answer is but it feels to me that it's more important that we fix our run game to open things up for our strong-armed QB instead of switching to our running QB to supplement our lack of a rushing attack.
  10. I'm really having a hard time seeing how we slow down the RPO scheme of CC when we gave up 242 passing yards and 112 rushing yards to a lousy Adrian Martinez last week.
  11. Holy crap. I take back everything and have no idea what to think now. On 4th and 3 with 6 minutes left down 18 you opt to go for a 50 yard field goal with a kicker who has never hit over 45… wtf kind of coaching is that?
  12. Im irrationally annoyed with Mo for this god awful showing (honestly we should be down by 40) but wth did we expect when our prior douchebag of a coach leaves in the middle of spring ball and steals half our players? I’m behind Mo, I hope the city of Buffalo is as well next week.
  13. This is the most dreadful crap I’ve seen in at least half a decade from Buffalo. Mo is making one shitty first impression.
  14. This was my take as well but I wanted to be sure I wasn't misled by TV angles. It doesn't matter if it's a Tuesday game against Williamsville East, we should draw 20k after the season we had last year. Truly disappointing, Buffalo. I do want to repeat though: THE STUDENT FRIGGIN ROCKED! That was obvious.
  15. First off, hats off to the students! It looked like they came out in full force and covered the entire bottom half of the East side. They were loud (I thought we banned thundersticks after the Cuse game 15 years ago but I guess not!) and most importantly a great number of them appeared to actually stick around past halftime despite the lopsided score. Well done! That said, it looked on TV like pretty much nobody showed up from Buffalo. Is this the case or did they just fail to show the sections they were sitting in?
  16. Reports are that Peyton Barber has been cut so that means JP is pretty much a lock for the 53-man. Congrats!!!
  17. I have to disagree. I'd rather have a not-so-flashy QB who can protect the ball and manage the game efficiently vs. a semi-mobile threat with limited ability as a decision maker. Vantrease has done a great job and is imo one of the most underrated players on our roster.
  18. I am going to have a hard time forgiving Hodgson for actively promoting Alabama to recruits while still employed by UB, but this TBT thing feels a bit like he's trying to mend that broken fence. I wouldn't be surprised if he was homesick after spending 2 years in a pandemic in Tuscaloosa...
  19. Scratch that. I am seeing it on espn2 now.
  20. I could not care less about what wrongdoings they presented UB in the past, they are back together in a tourney and I am friggin' pumped to see them again. I want Bearden to toss up one of those 8 foot driving floaters and then I want Moss to Cauley-Stein the sh!t out of some Ivy League nerds. Welcome back, boys!
  21. Sweet, I'm pumped he's joining us. I think we were all worried there for a bit. lesss goooooo!!
  22. You're thinking of the Hofher years. We were pretty decent by the time Lance came around and were fresh off the Licata, Mack, Bo years. On another note, Kotelnicki making a half a mill at Kansas is absolutely mind boggling.
  23. I need some clarification here. Canisius fans are claiming he brought a knife to a pickup basketball game but I've also heard that it was actually some exercise equipment that he picked up from the gym during the fight. Those are wildly different things in my mind and I'd love to know which one is true.
  24. While it would be fun to play in the Big12 what in the world is fun about joining a team that's going to get its head kicked in week after week for the next couple of years?
