  1. Agree it is a myth and when of the so called experts make statements like that the average fan believes it without really looking into the facts. If a team beats another in the first two they should have all the momentum and confidence that they can beat them again. In the third meeting why would you not want to be the team that won the first two?? Go Bulls!!!!
  2. No guarantees for sure. But with Nate’s family situation with his wife and young kids together with his beautiful home in Grand Island and I hear they are doing some remodeling I think he will stay especially with another contract raise. UB just has to continue to show their commitment to building this into a high mid major success story. Go Bulls!!!!
  3. Agree. Talk about the amount of money, the resources and the name recognition and being in the PAC-12. But you still have to make the right coaching decisions and of course hit on the players you draft. Nate is ahead of the game. Go Bulls!!!!!
  4. Agree also. Nate is getting more out of his players than Hurley although Hurley has a younger team but will improvement come with Hurley next year?? Hurley still seems out of control at times and that can translate to his players. Already sent my email to Mark Alnutt to pay Oats and keep him here. Go Bulls!!!!!
  5. Still hard to swallow the loss at NIU. We did not come to play in all facets of the game. Three players with 4/5 fouls, only shot 36% from field, lost the rebounding battle, NIU shot 50% from field and bad defense on last second shot by NIU, Caruthers 0-9 from field all spells defeat. On to bigger and better things and results. Go Bulls!!!!!
  6. It is nice to have some entertainment and some light-hearted moments and keep everything in perspective. Let’s keep enjoying the ride. Go Bulls!!!!
  7. Great overview of the game and season so far. Let’s face it this is a whole new frontier for this team and UB where we are the top team and everyone wants to beat us because of our ranking. Harris has not let the other parts of his game diminish I.e. the rebounding and assists even though his offensive struggles continue. Perkins was due for a good game and we really needed it. Hope CJ’s shoulder is not worse than he is letting on but he is giving the team everything he can. Go Bulls!!!!!
  8. I have asked this question before. There can not be any checks and balances on the jobs the officials are doing!!!!! Is it up to each conference to police the officials???? Terrible calls in the first half and it evened out somewhat in the 2nd half but just not a good way to watch a game. Go Bulls!!!!
  9. I agree. UB has to show both appreciation and a commitment by giving him another raise and contract extension. Will be sending Mark Alnutt emails and supporting the UB athletic fund and we will show Mark we are committed and support UB athletics. I hope Nate would not take a bottom P5 job with only money on his mind. Go Bulls!!!!!
  10. I can see how so many opinions out there think just because of the money and what the compensation is that Nate would jump. There are so many more issues than just the money. Nate wants to be able to win and I don’t see the Penn State’s and Minnesota’s being able to compete in the Big 10 against the big boys and win recruiting wars against them. The reality is in 3/4 years you can be out of a job again and starting all over. In today’s sports it seems all that is talked about are the big bucks and it is sad that is suppose to be the end all for everything you do in life. You can make less money and still have a successful life. The issue really is in today’s sports world the money has blown normal life out of proportion and our family are slowly losing all our enjoyment of sports in general. Go Bulls!!!!
  11. One other question about Sat’s game.Is TrueBlue working on getting more students to the 2PM game?? It would be great to see a loud and supportive crowd. I am doing my part as a season ticket holder and UB passionate fan. Go Bulls!!!!
  12. A really good and informative article about the hot coaches for next year’s jobs. There are many, many names out there other the Nate’s name. From the local standpoint unless you look at these type articles you will not be very informed and not be able to make good judgements on the coaching searches. Go Bulls!!!!!
  13. Agree this team has overachieved to some degree. Dillard and Hemphill were the only true frontline players from last year. All the other players have not come close to compensating for last year’s loss. Losing Dillard will leave a big hole in the rotation as far as scoring and assists. Unless FLJ can hit on a incoming freshman or a JUCO who can come in and replace Dillard all the momentum of these last few years will be lost. Such is life in college basketball. Go Bulls!!!!!
  14. I was concerned about this game. I was looking at the stats and the last few games from BG and they were very competitive and had 3/4 players that showed quick athletic ability and decent rebounding skills along with a promising first year coach. The story of this year is our rebounding weakness and our poor 3 point shooting. Teams know how to beat UB. Put unrelenting pressure on Dillard and rebound the ball. Inconsistent efforts by Hall, Wilkins, Morrison and especially Hamilton and with no presence underneath except for Hemphill can lead to very tough games. The CMU game just became more important with this loss and with a couple more losses UB will be in danger of finishing out of the top four in conference which means a play in game before Cleveland. Need a big crowd and student support on Sat to get a big time win. Go Bulls!!!!
  15. Nate has said more than one time in interviews that he wants to build something big here s long as the UB admin shows the same commitment. Talking about a athletic facility for basketball and the fact Nate and his family are happy here and with their home in Grand Island. As long as Mark Alnutt shows his commitment by giving Nate another raise I think he will want to stay, Nate has also said that all the money in the world won’t matter if you don’t have a winning team and culture and you have no fun in doing so. We need to keep this winning culture going. Go Bulls!!!!
  16. I think it would help especially with all the crazy weather we have been having. Especially with Toledo being off all week and hope being here for a few days will help for the team to be in the comfort zone and be rested. Go Bulls!!!!
  17. Thanks for putting this front and center. I have been voting every day and hope many more get on boar. Go Bulls and vote for Nate!!!!!
  18. The one thing that does stand out is Harris stats from last year to this year. In most cases teams would not be able to overcome when a player has a down year but our depth and other players stepping up have helped. To a lesser degree the down year by Reese of Canisius and what that has done to Canisius in a very weak MAAC. Go Bulls!!!!
  19. I think you are right on the money. The weight of expectations and the mental side of the game can be overwhelming. The last few years we were the up and coming team and with our success last year and beating Arizona the expectations and the accolades we were getting not only local but national when these players were never in this situation can be overwhelming. It is how you handle that success and if things start to go in the other direction how are you going to respond. I would rather be talking and forming opinions about our status this way than being the team that is in the middle or lower tier of the conference. Enjoying the ride and already have our hotel reserved in Cleveland. Go Bulls!!!!
  20. Squire17 you have a biased idea. Just because Penn State is in the Big10 should not mean they are better than high mid major teams. They are 9-15, 2-11 in conference, and 6-6 at home. I agree with Skrabukes that we should shout about our success and all the positives that have come from the last number of years. If you want to find fault about something how about Duke looking like crap against Louisvillleand making a big comeback the last nine minutes or so. The bottom line is you need to win your games and after the game there can be opinions on who played better and we can talk about stats. You can win ugly or with flair but the bottom line kI repeat kids to win the game. Go Bulls!!!!
  21. Thanks for the recap regarding officiating calls as I was not able to see the game. A play or two especially at the end of a game can change the outcome and final score. Go Bulls!!!!
  22. Welcome Kevin. A very good first article on the UB season so far. A lot of factual information on the positives and some areas the team needs to improve on. Hope all the fans that think 21-3 is a bad 21-3 read your article. Go Bulls!!!!
  23. Still do not understand how 21-3 is bad. Still there will always be some who want to criticize no matter what happens. All the years we were trying to be in the top tier in the MAC and here we are.Our family wants to enjoy this and hope it lasts for years to come. Go Bulls!!!!
  24. Agree with you 100%. That one loss continues to look very bad. Overall a very good record. There are many teams that have had bad losses. Penn State beating Michigan!!!! That is college basketball and that is why they play the games. Go Bulls!!!!
  25. A bad 21-3!!!!! In all the years of supporting UB basketball we should be jumping for joy at a 21-3 record. The excitement and the success this team has brought to our area is beyond anything we could have imagined. The number of fans supporting and talking proud is off the charts. Let’s enjoy the ride and not blow things out of perspective. Go Bulls!!!!!
