  1. Completely agree, this team may exceed a lot of expectations of what the drop off from last year would be. The real proof will come in a couple weeks when they (hopefully) embarrass Dartmouth. I’ll take the issues on defense we saw in the Daemen scrimmage any day over problems putting up points and playing a fast tempo. Defense can be coached and fixed, especially with this coaching staff
  2. That reminds me, they’re running out of room for all these banners. Wonder what they’re gonna do with the next 50 banners
  3. There’s a reason why they didn’t want to play us again
  4. The whole team practices together, so he along with everyone else goes against everyone including Mballa, Hardnett, Skogman etc
  5. Nope, they aren’t rushing him back. Believe he was given a full year timetable
  6. Everyone has good points here, Brock can be a solid utility player that if needed can provide rest minutes for the other bigs. Hardnett compares his style of play to Chris Webber if that helps anyone imagine what he’ll provide for us
  7. I appreciate that! It’ll be interesting to see if Brock still gets the start once Hardnett comes back. My guess is the center position will be largely situational depending on what the other team’s center situation is. Like when we play Miami OH we’ll probably start Brock since Miami has Bam.
  8. Also I’d like to quickly point out someone who may not stick out much on the stat sheets this season but Savion is going to be a hell of a player down the line for us. He’s always giving 100% every play
  9. Plays with a chip on his shoulder, solid player and I’m sad we only get one season of him
  10. Hopefully now everyone sees what I meant when I said Grant is easily a 10 ppg guy for us
  11. They’re really sleeping on my boy Brock Bertram
  12. This shows the awesome new stepback 3 move that Jordan added to his game
  13. Just thought I would mention, Oats and Alabama struggled against Jacksonville State in their closed scrimmage. Only won 90-81
  14. Agree with all of that especially Mballa and what he brings. His game reminds me a lot of Javon McCrea only more athletic. Nickelberry is still adjusting and may not find his way into the starting lineup until mid season, the ability is there, it’s just a matter of mentally getting used to the fast pace of play
  15. This may sound like a reach but this years team actually has more depth than last years team in the sense that the team has so much playable talent that they can realistically afford to switch the starting 5 every game to best matchup against the other team. A lot more length than last year, but the scoring will be more even spread among everyone most likely. As far as Segu and Williams go, they’re going to both have awesome seasons, Williams could potentially have a breakout one.
  16. Jordan Johnson Graves Williams Mballa The Williams and Mballa positions can be mixed and matched depending on the other team and how they match up. The top 3 are pretty much locks. Segu will play a significant role as well (throw Hardnett in there when he comes back from his injury)
  17. Was there for this news, compliance came down and handed him his jersey and the team swarmed him. Awesome scene
  18. It’s closed and private. I technically am someone in the know but again it’s private until after it’s done.
  19. Checked him out, replays, as well as something I do with all our offers is to look at their twitter to get a sense of what they’re like. He’s completely focused on basketball and shouts out his teammates whenever he can. As far as his offers on 247 go, looking through his tweets, he doesn’t have offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida or Florida State, but he has taken unofficial visits to them all. His official offers are (in order he received them): James Madison, Presbyterian, North Florida, Seton Hall, Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Missouri State, Kennesaw State, University AT Buffalo
  20. Based off watching them at practice, Skogman plays a mix of back to basket and stretch big, Mballa does the same. I meant it as Brock will be graduating after this year. There have been many identical cases where a player with remaining playing eligibility graduates and decides to move on with their life. I see it as a possibility given the very limited role he has had up to this point at UB.
  21. Really appreciate you doing this, also had no idea Tyson Acuff was so highly regarded. If we can get more players at or above the caliber of Chanse then I don’t see any drop off despite graduating Davonta, Antwain, and Gabe. Officially we had 3 scholarship spots to fill, 2 once Chanse signs. If Brock decides to call it quits after this season since he’s a senior in the classroom that potentially opens up 1 more spot. Good thread to have to stay up to date and on top of things
  22. From Segu’s Instagram story the other day but seeing this topic with an update reminded me, he’s also a dad now!
