  1. LL must be thankful for the shortened 6 game season, so they can go undefeated in the regular season against extremely bad teams and avoid teams that would've beaten them. Even at 10-3, they wouldn't have been ranked in the top 25. Thanks for all the MAC Championship wins LL. But hey, UB won the bahamas bowl and got a nice vacation for the coaches and UB staff's families.
  2. I don't disagree. But hey "Bulls4Life" and "we bleed UB blue" right? Until something "better" comes along, that is.
  3. Just because they enter doesn't mean they'll leave. But I'm not holding my breath either on this front. It depends on who is brought in and how well they can sell themselves and their vision to the current squad. I'm hoping this doesn't turn into a mess, but as of now, it seems like a toss up.
  4. Who else would he put on his staff other than these guys? Whatever, adios to all of em.
  5. Too many of these kids have too many people in their ears giving them bad advice.
  6. Another guy coming in to join this coaching staff that doesn't recruit or know how to coach.
  7. Tyree all over again. At least Lance got paid.
  8. Maybe, or maybe just politicking. Hopefully the first, but we shall see. He (or others) would only get themselves in trouble if they said anything but that. Much like Nobody from Nowheresville, time will tell the true tale.
  9. That guy probably actually cares enough about his players/team not to leave in May. Props to him.
  10. Are we? As much as I'd like to believe that, I'm curious as to what makes us a "P5 stuck in the MAC"? Is it our 10k football attendance (and 1k in the November weeknight frigid games)? Is it our guaranteed championship winning ways in every sport? Is it that our facilities are comparable/better to/than P5 schools? I'd love to believe that, and want to witness it, but what makes that a true statement? UB has done better than others in the MAC overall, but the investment has certainly increased big time in recent years, so I would hope performance would mirror the investment. Actually spoke with someone who is a large supporter today and they thought it was "great", "good for lance". If that's the case that we should just sit back, pay our $$ in donations and spend time at games, for someone to get a winning lottery ticket while we get left in the lurch (already players are leaving), then I guess i am just the fool for always having been loyal, whether it is to UB or my job (and those who I work with/for) for the last 25 years. LL isn't the first to leave for something "better" and he surely won't be the last. The way he did it screams of absolute selfishness and belief that he would never get a better option (and honestly, the latter may be correct, in which case, good for him, enjoy your winning lottery ticket). Back to the thread at hand, if the buyout is only 600k, that's not much to invest in a "big" hire, so whatever we get is what we get. This 11th hour move must've been Lance's gift for the end of "UB Giving Day". Just frustrated by this, big time. Rant over.
  11. We'll see what the next shoe is to drop. I'm sure UB is hoping everyone who got the May 1 season ticket deadline re-upped early.
  12. If the buyout is only 600k, then we are morons with how we give contracts. Nate signed a 4 million dollar contract weeks before leaving and his buyout was 750k. When he signed with bama, it was 12 mil deal with an 8mil buyout (in year 1, prorated downward after each year). Our buyout was < 20% versus Alabama 67%, seems unequal. Lance had about 2.5 mil left on his contract, so we get a whopping 1/4 of it in year two of a 5 year contract.
  13. Yep. If he left last January, I'd be happy for him. If he left this January, same deal. Leaving now seems like a self-centered, weak and backhanded move. Congrats, you got your money. I for one, don't see him doing similar to nate's rise. If he does, I'll eat crow, but I'd wager against it (and I'm not much of a bettor).
  14. My 2 cents on the future (probably all that it's worth)... Go big or go home. Use the buyout $ to get someone hungry. Even if it's for 3 years and they move on. The $ built on a football only fieldhouse and all of the other recent frills, needs to be parlayed into something high profile. While our infrastructure isn't SEC level, it's pretty good within our league and other comparable leagues. Make UBs hire stand out.
  15. Kunz field already is a track. It would need improving and resurfacing, but it is a structure on campus already.
  16. Personally, I don't give a flying Fig about Kansas. I hate the timing of this for UB and believe that it will set us back greatly, especially in the short term.
  17. Evidently this was the best he thought he could get.
  18. I hear that Sweet Home has a solid football team this year.
  19. Based on the chart shown earlier in the thread, it's like $2mil. It's just crazy to me, how one can talk highly of UB the night before to donors, "give now, we're gonna be great" and then 12 hours later, Adios. No loyalty in these positions. It's one thing to do it in Dec/Jan and another to do it in May (at least in my eyes) Thankfully the basketball players all appear to be staying and building themselves into a great team for next year, not pulling an Osborn or Mabry (or others). We'll see if this move impacts any player movement. This surely hamstrings UB, as he'll likely take much of his staff. Good thing it's May tomorrow.
  20. Not a bad commitment for bad coaches who don't recruit. Much like the previous signing, he's likely better than Nobody from Nowheresville. On a side note, the roster is shaping up pretty darn nicely!
  21. I believe that he's doing a prep school route or something like that, hence the 2022 class (I don't really understand the "reclassifying" thing to be honest). While great stats, what is troubling is that he's been at a different school every year for the past 5-6 years (repeating a school or two within). Seems like a prime transfer portal case, but that's just a complete outsider point of view without knowing the player one bit. Regardless, tremendous HS career and best of luck to him wherever he chooses to go.
  22. One piece at a time. This one is a good start. Let the next piece fall in to place!
