  1. Not a bad commitment for bad coaches who don't recruit. Much like the previous signing, he's likely better than Nobody from Nowheresville. On a side note, the roster is shaping up pretty darn nicely!
  2. I believe that he's doing a prep school route or something like that, hence the 2022 class (I don't really understand the "reclassifying" thing to be honest). While great stats, what is troubling is that he's been at a different school every year for the past 5-6 years (repeating a school or two within). Seems like a prime transfer portal case, but that's just a complete outsider point of view without knowing the player one bit. Regardless, tremendous HS career and best of luck to him wherever he chooses to go.
  3. One piece at a time. This one is a good start. Let the next piece fall in to place!
  4. In a word No. In multiple words, Heck No. Our best bigs would be Javon, Watt, Idbihi. For the most part, they didn't have tons of grouo help. Javon had Regan for a bit, Watt had Titus, Idbihi had Bortz, but those pairs don't equate to the list that you outlined all being in the same rotation. Additionally, I'm not sure that I'd take any of those pairs over Mballa/Williams for 3 years, even though I really like the first pair (and last). But as a whole unit, it's not close in my opinion. Edit, forgot about Perk (not sure how). Pair him with Harris, Montrell. This group is deeper though. Those teams were pretty guard heavy.
  5. Wasn't directed at you in general, just was replying with regard to the "high ranking".
  6. Good players are good players. I'd be more than fine with positon less basketball if it puts quality talent all over the floor wearing blue.
  7. Sounds like he's a lot better than Nobody from Nowheresville.
  8. Then I guess I'll wait until the season start to renew.
  9. If it's back to sports as usual, I'm very happily in and looking forward to seeing UB sports live again!
  10. Then how does one know if they should buy tickets in April if it's too soon to ask. Many people won't go to a game in 80 degree weather wearing a mask (or sit through a 3.5 hour game wearing one outdoors either).
  11. This guy commits and then decommits within a few days, yet some people are figuring we won't get any players. Like I said before, let's just wait and see what happens, because until they show up in August, who really knows what may happen. Sadly, this is the new normal in ncaa bball.
  12. Will masks be required to be worn while attending?
  13. 2 years ago they had open spots at this time (5 of them) and brought in Mballa, Hardnett and Skogman. If we can see that type of trio (hopefully including a guard or two) we should be pleased.
  14. We still have several open roster spots (as do others). Can't we just wait until the rosters are filled before anointing anyone as king yet? What if we sign another Mballa (or similar damage maker at guard)? Who really knows what will happen? As of this moment, of course Ohio appears to be the favorite, since they won in Cleveland and return most of the squad and a strong addition. The preseason favorite in this league doesn't always come out on top anyhow. They're not the early 90s UNLV squad or this year's Gonzaga (or even 2019 Buffalo for that matter).
  15. Ball State is going to be a whole new squad next year after these moves.
  16. Until it happens, I'll just assume it's a 1 bid. Too much $$ for the big boys to let a medium-small guy come to the party. The only way it would've happened in recent history would've been if UB would've lost in Cleveland a couple of years ago. When the big leagues make it harder for MAC and the like to get non league games with them, it only widens the divide when it comes to multiple bids.
  17. They will definitely be a veteran led team, much like our top 25 team of a few years ago. If they can get to the same depth of that squad (which they did not have this year), they might be capable of a big run similar to ours.
  18. You didn't answer the questions or provide any further insight on this player. Like usual, you just provide negativity. Again, since you are so knowledgeable, please enlighten the rest of us.
  19. Then I guess you should be on the staff. Please enlighten us with your coaching/ athletic background and knowledge. This way we all can learn. This player must be the only one out there and now we aren't going to have a full roster. Maybe he went to Ga State because they aren't as good as UB (UB 77 and GS 155 last year in kenpom or maybe he wanted a lesser league challenge with sunbelt having 4 teams in top 200 of net vs mac with 8) and he feels he'll get more playing time/better stats. Since you know him so well, please give us the reason why he chose them over us so that we can close this thread.
  20. Until we see what signings (and players who actually show up), I really don't care about "misses", and that includes Lanier, who I couldn't care less about at Ga St. Again, if we add no players (and that certainly won't be the case), then I'll be worried and upset. It's April 2, thousands of players out there, many of whom are surely better than this guy. None of us here even know this guy, so we have no idea if he's a good guy or not, all we've seen is his tape (and to be honest I haven't even seen that). Just let the whole thing play out and see what happens before passing judgment. The "very talented, big guard" argument can be said for many. CJ went unsigned by anyone until summer, and was essentially unheralded and he turned out okay. Whether we get "big stars" or "unheralded guys", the staff needs to develop the guys they get. Thus far, they've done a decent job with some (Mballa, Hardnett, and pretty much any of the team's top 8 minus a senior or two who were the butts of negative comments all season), while others levelled off (Brewton who seemed to be hurt most of the year and Gallion, who now is gone).
  21. Good for him. Who really cares? Let's not pretend that he's Lebron or Jordan. There are hundreds more like him out there. Until they're signed and here, it's all guesswork for all of us here. The staff will fill the slots, let it happen.
  22. I don't believe that Jack is a PG. More of a slasher, athlete. Understandable. Caruthers played a lot of D! That guy ( him or Jordan ) was sorely missed this year.
  23. Wow, that last line is a major goal. If he (or anyone) could do that, we instantly get WAY better. I don't see anyone on the current roster that will be that. Chanse was that hope, oops.
  24. How many of these transfers are post 4 year players that would be in addition to normal? In theory, you could have 4 classes of transfers vs the normal 3 in this "freebie" year. Is that skewing the numbers up at all?
  25. Nice. Will he have 2 seasons? He's only played one thus far but been in college for 4. I assume his 5th year + covid freebie year?
