  1. I would believe that everyone here is hoping for the first 2 (sadly I think some people want the 3rd so that they can prove they are smarter than others).
  2. Not as of 10:30pm on 3/19/21 in my eyes. Could it go the other way? Could it go above and beyond? I think both are possible. I'm hopeful for the latter. Let's see what the off-season brings.
  3. I would have to assume that the staff figured that they had the pieces. Pretty much everyone on this board was jazzed up about Chance. We all got the "Go to Jail" card on that one unfortunately (maybe we'll roll doubles next time). We also were hyped for Zachery. That one remains to be seen, maybe a glimmer of hope there? If those 2 pieces are what we (and surely the staff) thought, this team is far different than the current one.
  4. I think he's happy where he is. Good for him.
  5. If ub could throw around $$ in the way that some of you'd like, the job never would've come available 2 years ago. Sure, let's pay $1+mil, let's get rid of the track, etc. How much money has been lost in the last 12 months compared to normal?
  6. Perk was legitimately the top guy on those big teams (along with CJ obviously) and didn't start.
  7. Sure, we pay the current coach $300k, let's bring in the guy who makes almost $2mil. Sounds reasonable.
  8. He's not wrong. Who would they start over? Would I love to have them here? Heck yeah. There would be the depth that made the big UB teams great. When that team could roll in Perk and Dontay off the bench it'd be no drop off, and improvement for the most part. Allowing the starters (and those 2 guys) of this team to play 28 min fresh vs long stretches where they are forced to take a play(s) off due to fatigue, would change the ohio game and this one (along with many more).
  9. Hardly is slander, but I don't know how you can call for the firing of JW after 2 years, yet defend RW to the hills after 14 years of far less success (and continued mediocrity at best now at canisius). Were the times different between now and 20 years ago? Absolutely. Should the bar be higher now? Absolutely. RW did a fine job righting the ship and taking UB from shambles to reasonably solid footing. In my opinion, he got UB to the highest spot that he was capable of. BH and NO built upon that and won Championships. JW has been more than solid thus far and it's ridiculous to praise RW vehemently while knocking JW. Like another poster said a while back, if 20 wins and top 2 finish in the MAC isn't good enough for you, then you are confused on how Suny and mid majors work. I'd take a top 2 finish, with the opportunity to be in the title game, every single time. Bar raised? Heck yes, but at the same time be realistic and don't think that 30 wins is the new norm or level that success should be based upon. If the team doesn't win over the next few years and/or isn't in the top 3 yearly, then there is plenty to gripe about. Based on the first 2 years, I hardly think that there is any reasonable measure that would call for this staff's removal.
  10. and isn't lighting the world on fire where he is now.
  11. I'm not sure who the shot is directed towards (or if just pointing out facts), but one coached for well over a decade while the other has for 2 years. Not really an even comparison.
  12. As much as it might be a good addition, it would really be boom or bust for us then. We'd have such a reliance on seniors (already will have 3 big cogs in that class). I'd be more worried about future, unless we added a couple of young guys along with him. Adding a scorer is rarely a bad choice though! He must've developed big time in college, as he was very good in HS, but 20ppg in college is massive.
  13. I looked also...insane prices from Buffalo to Dallas as well. I guess it'll just be watched on tv!
  14. I don't understand why he would want to move on from there once he has the program thriving. I don't see it anyway. He's making big bucks and winning.
  15. I think he's doing just fine where he is.
  16. Not sure. I know they did the UB there (or whatever it was called) with the "virtual sellouts".
  17. Isn't it 5 out of 6? Won 2, kent won 1, won 2 (nothing last year) and in game tomorrow.
  18. 3 in the top 10 is pretty solid though. No one else is close to that. Ohio 3 in top 15 Toledo 3 in top 20 Just win 3 more, that's the big 3!
  19. I may not be a "massive" sabres fan, but I do enjoy watching them (just not now, it's too painful!)
  20. What was CJ ranked? How about Caruthers? "Rankings" only mean so much. As much as you want to knock this staff, most, if not all of the players who were here last season have improved this season. That should be worth something. Being worried about having signees in March is relatively meaningless. This staff had 0 two years ago in April, yet got a solid group (mballa, hardnett, Nickelberry, skogman, gallion). Last year they had signees at this time (1 never showed up and 1 didn't make good choices). They'll find players. There's plenty out there.
  21. Just was trying to make the point clearer. Yeah, that's not a fair comparison for anyone! Scarrrrry-bad!
  22. So now the makings of a good coach is dependent upon the potential roster for 2 years from now? 2 years ago, how many of the current players were on the current roster in our top 8 minutes played? Graves, Segu, Williams, Brock. You named 5 players above. It's pretty likely that 3-4 of those guys will be in the top 8 and 4-5 will be guys that we've never even heard of yet.
