  1. Been there, done that. I will pass. https://msuspartans.com/news/1999/6/21/msu_women_s_basketball_assistant_named_head_coach_at_buffalo.aspx
  2. Last time UB played there, one time UB recruit, Victor Cruz was at the game.
  3. It is all analytics. Watch the Sue Bird interview from 60 minutes last night, where she champions the mid-range jump shot.
  4. This is the problem that the women have agaisnt the top programs. This game was very similar to the South Carolina and Oklahoma games in the Bahamas. UB just has problems getting inside against the bigs of these schools. the other issue is depth. By the time the fourth quarter comes UB is too exhausted to make plays and shots. All of a sudden a close game has them down double digits and you did not even see that run coming at UB. This game busted my bracket as I had UB beating Indiana in the championship game. I did not think that UB could beat Tennessee and Oregon back to back, so I gave UB Belmont in the second round. That was a nice upset to have had in the bracket.
  5. Special Fund raising Event: https://ubfoundation.buffalo.edu/giving/index.php?gift_allocation=01-3-0-04000
  6. Regular blue Regular white Gray Black Blue, with script Buffalo and skyline These are not enough jerseys?
  7. From sources inside Tennessee Athletics, the UB area is likely to be Section 120, not Danny White.
  8. Last one I watched in full was in 2019 in the second round of the NCAAs.
  9. It may be public, but I think people are entitled to some privacy. The information is published yearly by USA Today. It is available elsewhere on the web. If someone finds it and wants to post it, that is there choice. I opt to not post it.
  10. I am not a fan of discussing coaches salaries (would you want your salary discussed publicly?). That being said, from information available to the public (if someone can find the website, someone can post the actual numbers) her base is above that and she was paid substantial bonuses over her base in 2021.
  11. Fans do not travel as much for women's basketball as they do for the men. So that they are not playing in empty arenas the top four seeds in each bracket host the first two rounds. Pick any 2 four team groupings and how many would travel for the first two rounds to Buffalo (although the first games on Thursday and Friday can be ghosts towns, but they fill up by the second half of the opening games. What they women did get correctly is the first four. Those games are being played where the winner will play in the first and second rounds. If you are in the 16-16 that first four game will be played at the one seed. It is better than the men who have to fly into Dayton and then to their next game. Think Arizona State in 2019. The flew from Tempe to Dayton. They then had to fly to Tulsa. Imagine what the travel would have been if they had their next game on the west coast? Doing what the women do would give them a slightly better shot at winning their next game.
  12. Surprised it was not mentioned already. Tennessee is led by AD, Danny White. The NCAA likes to do things like that in setting match ups. In 2019 Danny Hurley told Nate Oats on Sunday morning that they were going to have Arizona State lined up to play UB if they won their first four game. They did the same with Delaware this in both tournaments. Their men play Villanova and the women play Maryland. Both are local rivalry type games giving Delaware motivation to knock off a bigger name in that is in their backyard.
  13. They have UB as a 13 seed with a rematch from the Battle 4 Atlantis against Oklahoma. Oklahoma won the first game 93-72. Fair, Camp and Woolley went a combined 2-20 from the field and scored a total of 5 points. Unlikely that would happen again. They also have Albany as a 16 against Louisville.
  14. Revenge for the men worked against Akron. Hopefully revenge for football from the 2020 MAC Championship Game works just as well. Game on CBS Sports Network.
  15. With the women in the final and Toledo out it will be interesting to see ESPN does with the women's bracketology. They had Toledo as a 13 opening against Indiana at Indiana. I wonder if they just slot UB in their tonight when they update it.
  16. I think it is time for Red Auerbach to light his victory cigar, up 34 with 4:37 to go.
  17. Also a short trip from New York City and DC, with large alumni bases. Seat day trip from both areas.
  18. Probably not. They lost in quarters to a 9 seed (Rider) 71-70 are at 89 on the NET rankings. For those with a sense of history that is the same score that Notre Dame beat UCLA to end the Bruins 88 game win streak.
  19. Khalil Mack on his way to LA, Chargers that is.
  20. Notre Dame from watching their games Sunday mornings with Lindsay Nelson.
  21. Winning 12 straight will do that. When Kent State made their run to the Elite 8, the ended the season on a long winning streak. Their last loss that year was to UB. Their last loss this year, UB.
  22. Joe Licata has left staff. He is going home as the new head coach at Williamsville South, his alma mater.
