  1. They may be distracted by a football game in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon that probably means more to them than the outcome of this game.
  2. Next summer the women's basketball team is headed to Europe to play in a tournament, They need to raise funds to cover the expense. Hanna Hall and Theresa Onwuka have all the details. If you missed Giving Tuesday or need a year tax deductible contribution please consider making a donation.
  3. Will only need a medical red shirt if he is looking for extra years beyond five at UB. He played in 2 games, so this year does not count.
  4. I did not think about doing that, because of how I was going try to get back to New York. I even tried to fly back after the game. However, that is not realistic with having to clear both security and customs in Nassau. I ended up with abut the same price with a free room at the courtyard Friday night and out first thing Saturday morning, for about hte same price JetBlue was offering.
  5. It may have played a role. https://footballscoop.com/news/fcs-program-announces-theyre-shutting-down-football-program/
  6. What is the point of this thread? Eight games in and you are basically looking for a change of coaches already.
  7. Hopefully, this is not how Jacksonville is paying for the basketball facilities. https://judolphins.com/news/2019/12/3/jacksonville-university-discontinues-football.aspx
  8. The rec center is not a sports issue. It is a quality of life issue for students. It is being worked on and should be announced soon. It is important for admission purposes to show what the school has for students to do and use.
  9. Game is not yet showing up on the SEC Network overflow channel or the extra ESPN channels on Directv.
  10. I feel like it would cause an issue because we just cut 4 teams You cannot just add teams. In order to add a team of either sex you then need to balance out Title IX requirements.
  11. See the post from BRJCAR75 from yesterday at 10:33 that has a mention to a Spectrum article from 9-15-78 that has him transferring from Indiana.
  12. Everyone who was with the team then knows of him coming home from Indiana, without a stop at Buff State. He was at Indiana on a track scholarship to play football. The 90+ scholarship limit was still not enough in the 1970s, so they would give scholarships to WR to run track but hey would also play football. He came back home because his personality did not fit in well with the Indiana football team. His coach for football was, not so fast my friend, Lee Corso. may be he ran to fast for Corso. By the way, if anyone on the current staff of the Spectrum reads this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at the old Spectrums and try to get close to what it used to be.
  13. I had started another thread when he was mentioned as a possibility for Rutgers. That has become possibly the worst job in America. They were trying to bring Schiano back. However, that fell apart and there are major donors claiming that they are going to walk away and stop donating over Rutgers messing the rehire up.
  14. Don't think I share your view that many, if any, 6-6 teams stay home this year.....in fact, I'd say there is as good a chance that 1 or 2, 5-7's sneak in. Guess we'll know Sooner (no bias) than later! The only way for a 5-7 team to make it would be if 9 of the 14 5-6 teams lose.
  15. From being there with him. He transferred home from Indiana and end up at UB. There never was any mention of him being at Buff State.
  16. Now that there has been a winner over on Twitter see if you can get the answer to the first question that I submitted for the contest. What Bowling Green athlete was on the NBA top 50 players of the first 50 years and what athlete won gold at the 1972 Olympics?
  17. The Spectrum was wrong. He transferred to UB after having issues at his prior school where he was on a track scholarship to play WR.
  18. Through last Saturday there are 72 teams eligible for a bowl game. This is the lowest number entering the "final"* regular season week. There are 14 schools that can get win 6 this weekend fort he final six slots. No word as to how many may be a a match up of 5-6 teams. This per the D1-Ticker email. * Army -Navy is a regular season game played after the conference championship games.
  19. So they have won 7 times in the last 15 seasons?
