  1. We don’t have one. Toledo does, NIU does but not sure if that’s focused on Football.
  2. You know what they say when you assume…
  3. If Jim gets a decent job, the buyout is likely cut in half or more. If Jim were to, say, go back to Nate at Bama since he’s losing at least one assistant, the buyout could end up being even smaller. You always complain about not being “big time”, buyouts of ineffective coaches are part of the game.
  4. I’m totally with you. I definitely don’t think it can hurt. But usually coaches stay for the right chance like Luke Fickell in Football when it’s a difference of already making $3 million and you get offered $5 million but choose to stay. When they’re making $400-500k here and get offered $3-4 million, we just don’t stand a chance. And that’s ok if it means championships for us. Hopefully he’s the choice and we have that problem.
  5. Respectfully, any coach who comes in and wins will treat us as a stepping stone when millions are put in front of them. Whether they’re from here or not. All Nate Oats talk about Gonzaga of the East was just salesmanship. He took the first big check he was offered. As any of us would.
  6. End of game it stops. End of the first half it does not.
  7. They already have a lot of the legwork done identifying potential candidates that fit a criteria, do background checks, etc. They can have all the off the record conversations that aren’t subject to state open records requests, especially if someone is a sitting head coach and doesn’t want it known they’re exploring.
  8. In my 30+ years of season tickets and donating I’ve met a lot of supporters. Not a single one has mentioned Anderson’s name. I agree it’d be a horrible pick, but relax already.
  9. Honestly if BH were gonna be the guy, and if he wanted to be the guy, wouldn’t it have been done already? Longer this goes I’m guessing his chances dwindle.
  10. Correct. And word was Hardnett was planning to return unless he got pro opportunities overseas.
  11. Good dude. Think Coach Q, and we, could use a fresh start. Hope he lands somewhere quickly.
  12. 100% Correct. But the best class we’ve ever had is coming in and there was a remarkable coaching job done, under the circumstances (team played very hard, competed above their talent, etc). But no former ties to the program or WNY. Just saying it isn’t a prerequisite. No media members have given any inside info. 100% pure speculation based on nothing.
  13. No, you don’t. You get the same people who would attend a UB game, minus students.
  14. College sports coaching graveyards are filled with former great recruiters. Just find the best coach. The rest takes care of itself. Nobody around here had a clue who Becky was before she was hired.
  15. This is based on zero intel. It’s on ADMA to find the best COACH. There is no condition they need to be from or have ties to WNY. The only thing we all care about is winning (the right way). Neither of the above guys has ever been a HC. Zero track record. It may be one of them but it’s dumb to say if it’s not them it’s a let down.
  16. Because there was too much time left for us to do that.
  17. Adams has already transferred. He would have to sit out a year. Not sure what would happen with Chatman.
  18. Worth noting the transfer portal doesn’t officially open until April 15. So they’re not actually in the portal yet and if they want to be eligible next Fall they’d be wise to keep going to class.
  19. One of the biggest knocks on BH when he was here is he literally did no coaching. Like zero. He recruited at a very high level, but he was not involved with any strategy or really even at practices bc he was on the road. Say what you want “he can get guys”, but a head coach has to do so much for strategy, motivation, using timeouts, player rotation and managing the game, etc. I don’t know what his role at Bama has included, but his skill set last time was no where close to head coach material. That’s all beyond what I heard about his maturity level (at the time) to be the face of the program. I have no opinion on BH because I don’t what what he’s done at Bama to potentially grow his skill set. But there were a lot of reasons last time not to make the hire (besides the players actively campaigning for JW). One big factor is how seriously the university will take this opportunity. Not ADMA, the university. We can’t nickel and dime this.
  20. Not sure what the total is. But, according to TBN article the contract expires April 5, 2025. There is also a duty to mitigate clause which could easily cut whatever the number is in half.
  21. Sounds like as always you have all the answers. But all you do is complain from the sidelines. None of what you say above has any credibility for real world solutions, but keep typing. Suddenly $5 tickets in Orchard Park means it’s a packed NFL stadium? Lol
  22. What’s better than averaging 7,500 butts in seats in a 26,000 seat stadium? Getting 5,000 butts in seats in a 75,000 seat stadium and paying a pretty penny to do it while also losing concessions, parking, suite revenue and more. Genius!
  23. Playing in Orchard Park is the dumbest of dumb ideas. It does nothing to benefit UB.
  24. Bowling Green fired Huger. Had 2 years left on his contract. Their best team ran into our 18-19 team.
