  1. Guys ran out of gas after being pressed all game. We gave up way too many easy buckets not getting back on defense. That was the difference in the game.
  2. From what I gather it may be inexperience. Supposedly lots of injuries including being down to a 3rd or 4th string goalie?? Season started off so well…
  3. Why does Daemen always seemingly have a guy who goes off on us that we can’t get to transfer up?
  4. Got there late from my grandson’s hockey game. But, I really liked the energy from the team and coaches. Didn’t feel like same old same old. Also, we grinded it out at the end, where I feel like the last few years we always wilted in pressure situations. Rebounding defensively was bad. Fulcher was much quicker and more athletic than I expected. Think he’ll be a solid PG. Adams and Chatman taking over in late 2nd half gives me some good feelings. Really liked Boldin, but seemed like a newborn fawn trying to stand up for the first time. Felt like he was all gas. End of the day, I feel like we’ll compete this year. To me, this is a different team in a good way.
  5. Brother-in-law is a donor to the collective at Akron. I’m guessing On3 doesn’t have access to much of any deals with collectives as there is no transparency in that. Nobody has to report anything. All he’d share is there are 2 guys getting > 6 figures. What that means or how much he wouldn’t go into detail.
  6. It’s all about pay for play now. Even small programs have collectives to pay the players. Sucks, but either we step up or we get used to it. Akron is paying multiple guys six figures.
  7. This UB team crushes Fordham. But past is the past.
  8. Coach Shawn Burke signed a multi year extension. He’s the first non revenue sport coach to get a multi year deal. He continues to produce. Volleyball looks like a good hire as well.
  9. The Sidelines account is all over Twitter calling for firings. Mo has 3 years after this one on his contract. Unless you’re stepping up with a check to cover it, it’s a stupid go no where conversation. Not that it’s wrong.
  10. Crazy how bad our defense has been when it’s mostly a veteran group.
  11. And thus his $500k payout is offset by his amount of salary.
  12. Mo is calling the defense. He has been all 3 years. Yuck.
  13. Looked like we belonged on the field. About all we could ask for.
  14. 6-6 while 4-8 and 8-4 regular seasons are on the table. WR production going to play a huge role.
  15. From what I’ve heard they’re trying to install Air Raid. If there’s ever a time to play them, it’s now.
  16. If you think a school like Buffalo generates enough revenue off of Football and Men’s Basketball to even fund those sports alone, I have a bridge to sell you.
  17. To be clear, Dayton donors paid him to play. The check simply hit his bank account which happens to be 5th 3rd. The bank has nothing to do with it. Straight pay to play.
  18. Tv isn’t paying big money to low level conferences. That’s my point. It’s eaten up by the big guys. The lower level conferences would do well to lean into what makes college sports special - regionality for fans and rivalries. The Power programs don’t care about rivalries bc their stadiums are full and they’re getting gobs of tv money. We should do the opposite. I agree we should add WKU and MTSU. Problem is last time we had that chance, some MAC Presidents reportedly voted no bc they felt like they’d have to further invest in their own programs to stay competitive.
  19. Not in the G5. The Sun Belt has leaned into regionality. Because in the G5 the tv money just isn’t there. Heck, the PAC12 just found that out. The G5 needs to lean into the fans for a change and do everything to make it fan friendly and have local rivals.
  20. I’m sure one of you recruiting wizards can give more info, but stats last year from Australia:
  21. 100%. And I wasn’t hating at all. Which is why I said to each their own. But $32k for a few weeks of play ain’t bad as a short side gig. I know they’re not making millions, but likely much more than you and I. All good. Happy to support them in other ways and I bought tix for family to go. Hope they can keep it rolling!
