  1. Yeah, can't see Brock starting in his first game of the season. Maybe after he's proven himself in game action and we face teams with a distinct size advantage, which NIU doesn't have. James is their tallest player at 6'9" and their only real scoring threat in the post. He could get some good minutes though if German starts getting to the rim at will on us.
  2. I'll take it! We didn't start or finish this game well at all but did enough good things overall to get the W. Great to see Graves looking like his old self and Mballa was huge in the paint, especially taking Osunnyi out. It may have been ugly, but a clean sweep of WNY teams is always a beautiful thing!
  3. Nah, someone jumped the gun a bit. Probably should have been over at that point but our guys sure as hell aren't closing it like they should right now.
  4. Ouch, glad I missed this one. This team has a lot of work to do. Seemed coming into the season that we'd have a deeper squad than last year, but it's really not looking that way. On a day like this where Segu is off, chances are about the only thing we're getting from our bench is fouls, turnovers, and missed shots.
  5. Ugh. Great job forcing the turnover but Mballa gives it right back.
  6. Have to hope Grant finds his shot soon, he's not much use to this team if he can't drain 3's consistently. Williams, I get why he tries the 3 to be less one-dimensional and open up driving lines, but he just doesn't have the stroke.
  7. Very poor shooting to start but finally heating up now. Still need to tighten up the defense
  8. Indeed, way too soon for this kind of talk. We were all frustrated by the Dartmouth loss but it was always going to take some time to adjust with so many new faces and guys in new roles. A game like this shows just how dangerous this team can be once we get all the kinks worked out.
  9. I think Dartmouth could surprise in the Ivy this year, veteran team who was better than their record last season. Great year for the football team so far too.
  10. Damn good thing we got the waiver for Mballa. I shudder to think how screwed we'd be in the post otherwise. Might still be on nights he gets in foul trouble.
  11. Ouch. Well at least we got a recruiting win tonight. Other than that, couldn't have been a worse start to the season.
  12. Jordan's trying to be that guy right now. If only he had the same confidence from the free throw line as he does from 3.
  13. 3 straight turnovers...4 points in the first 7 minutes of the 2nd half. Embarrassing...
  14. Looks worse than last year, didn't think that was even possible. Sloppy play from the team overall on both ends. Someone needs to show some leadership here and get this turned around fast.
  15. Yikes, definitely not the start we were looking for.
  16. Excited to see how the team comes together! Particularly interested in how Mballa and Hardnett handle things in the paint. My expectation is that Dartmouth won't be able to do much if any damage underneath against them. They will be bombs away from 3 though so it could be a close game for a while if we don't lock down the perimeter.
  17. I believe games on SEC Network are always on ESPN+ as well. At least it has been that way for any I have tried to watch on there.
  18. Fact is, we really don't know what we're getting from just about anyone except Graves and Jordan until the games begin. We have newcomers with very good reason to believe will be strong contributors or better (Johnson, Nickelberry, Hardnett, Mballa if eligible), returning guys who should take a big step forward (Williams, Segu), and bigger unknowns/wild cards from there. Grant and especially Bertram, however encouraging their showings in practice, have a lot to prove but should get their chance to do so.
  19. The high-end talent may not be what it was the last few years, but we should definitely have more overall depth and versatility with this group (even without Mballa). Excited to see what the coaching staff can mold this into. True dominant bigs may give us trouble but there aren't many (if any) of those in MAC and I like our chances to get it done again come March.
  20. Fair enough, will see how it does once the games begin. As of now though, I see a lot of teams with projections on players who either aren't on the roster anymore or won't be eligible this season. Nothing quite like the Nickelberry duplicate, though ๐Ÿ˜‚
  21. It's a shame, he ended up on a much better "team" than Perk for summer league but got much less of an opportunity to show off his talents. Hopefully some team out there will still give him a solid chance in Europe or otherwise.
  22. Guess he might be reclassifying after all? His Twitter lists him as a '20 prospect now. Homeschool/prep school flexibility perhaps.
  23. Well getting ejected doesn't help. Though ya can't really blame him for throwing that guy's nasty headband like that ๐Ÿ˜‚
  24. I still like his chances at a 2 way contract even if not with the Lakers. Commentator on ESPN2 just called him "the Zion Williamson of the MAC"
  25. Cacok has definitely impressed, but regardless I'd say Perk has shown enough to get interest from any number of teams for a G-League spot at worst.
