  1. Can Johnson come off the bench for NIU? haha

  2. Alright I'll take the bait. Since you point out Bona's injuries, UB is missing key players Xavier Ford and Rodell Wigginton in this game. Both Kenpom and Barttorvik have UB ranked more than 50 spots ahead of Bonaventure. Making it seem like its actually harder to make the tournament in a 4 bid league and hiding behind that is also weak. Nobody's holding a gun to Bonaventure's head and making them stay in the A-10 when they belong in the MAAC. Consensus: UB Bona was ranked around 90 in the metrics, rank 56th with a negative wins above bubble (resume metric) with 9 teams with better resumes also missing the tournament. You might agree that you were an all-time snub on Bona boards but by predictive metrics and resume metrics you weren't even close. This was UB's worst team during this stretch (particularly early in the year) and Bona's all-time snub team needs a buzzer beater to beat them. Consensus: Bona by a buzzer beater 6 points at home is handily? Conveniently missing the fact that the Bulls are missing Big 4 Player of the Decade CJ Massinburg in the game. Again, citing a conference you don't belong in's accomplishments as your own. Consensus: toss-up This might be the most laughable part of a laughable post. Beating kenpom #56 UCLA in a defacto home game in Ohio by 7, is not a wash to beating kenpom #28 Arizona featuring #1 pick DeAndre Ayton by 21 on a neutral court. I applaud the stones it takes to post something that idiotic though. You got this one right.

  3. Hope you are right. There is definitely a need for production off the bench. We are definitely lacking there, looking for one of these other guys besides Segu to step up.

  4. Why do people think we getting back this star or big role player. Mballa will still start at the 5. Brock will be good for 5-8 minutes off the bench, that’s it. Fagan maybe couple min also but neither gonna play big roles.

  5. I've expected him to play this weekend for a bit now. I think he should be ready

  6. Ha ha this one made me chuckle. You know we would ridicule them for all-time if they ever left the A10 for the MAAC.

  7. I'm hoping to get Brock and Fagan back as much as the next guy, but the idea of him jumping right into the starting lineup seems preposterous to me. He's been a light role player during his time here and many are clamoring for him to be a superstar after 2 months of being out due to injury. Having the 2 injured guys back would aid in moving people to more natural positions, but thinking that you're going to get 20-30 minutes/game out of them seems crazy, not to mention whose minutes are being taken away. I'd love to have him back gradually for some short burst here and there, to rest Mballa, but is his time going to take away from Hardnett or Williams' time? While Hardnett has not been great all season, he's shown some growth during periods of time this season, and I'd like to see that growth continue moving forward (remembering that he's only a freshman). Williams and Mballa have played well at the forward positions for the most part.

  8. If we can get Brock in there, it can totally change our offense. Play the 6-10 Bertram at the 5, move Mballa over to the 4 which is probably his more natural position. Have Williams play the 3, Graves the 2, and Jordan the 1. Then Johnson can come off the bench, which might be a welcomed change for him.

  9. Didn't look into the meet based sports (i.e. swimming/diving and track), but they had a losing record in literally every sport listed with a record on their athletics site besides MBB and many were closer to winless than .500. They even list their rugby team which isn't NCAA sanctioned and they having a losing record in that as well.

  10. Do agree that overall the last few years there have been large, passionate crowds at our games and the atmosphere has been great. We have gone to games over the years at both Niagara and St. Bona and when it is full houses the atmosphere is great. Our family just likes to see exciting college games with great crowds and of course when UB wins it is even better. Just hope UB continues to promote all their upcoming games and the local media do their part. On another note the administration has to do a better job on game day setups. The Bona game was terrible at the concessions with long, long lines with many fans upset at wait times. No small kiosks or vendors selling pop, popcorn etc. No decent traffic control at the Millersport entrance to let a large number of cars in, no signal control. If UB truly wants to make this a destination for fans to want to come to games they need to do something. I think this was brought up last year but I don’t think anyone in admistration are looking around or listening to fans. Go Bulls!!!!!

  11. 4 NCAA tournaments in 5 years. Case closed. You can argue kenpom all you nerds want. 4 NCAAs speaks the loudest.

  12. Our Bulls have only been better than Bonas in the very short term. I am not sure you could say any UB alumni exist where the Bulls were better all four years they were on campus. We only have a two year win streak and many of our NCAa bids we were not ranked highly and wouldn’t have even made the NIT if we didn’t win the conference tournament. But the future looks like winning is going to be the norm and we are beholding a foundation. They still have more fans and a better conference but on the court we are now becoming peers. maybe someday Bonas will talk about “Selling out the [new Aud] for UB games”.

  13. It's old... But here is some of the reason we stay in the MAC, yes it makes financial sense. Incidentally this was made when Bucky and Sully at TBN were saying UB should drop to do FCS football and be in the A10...

  14. The stuff from my freshman year doesn’t fit anymore...yikes...I had the newer true blue shirt on. We heard that down near us too. I got his number wrong too (I thought it was 32, oops) but it was closer than 34. To be fair, I didn’t grow up around here and didn’t know OJ as a football player (and not an alleged murderer) until later in life than I should have. I also didn’t scream it at the top of my lungs at an opponent when it is completely irrelevant.

  15. This just seems like an unnecessary attack on Whitesell the day after he accomplished something no Buffalo coach has ever done, go a perfect 3-0 against the Big 4. Oats didn't do that, Hurley didn't do that, and well Reggie sure didn't do that. Everyone here does realize we don't have Josh Mballa on this team with Oats as head coach.

  16. Congratulations. You have a good team. We had the best player, you had the best team. I think you guys have a decent chance to win the MAC.. It was a good atmosphere and fun time (except for the outcome) This is not to trigger anything as some of my posts are, but is there ever any consideration of getting rid of football and trying to join a conference like the Atlantic 10? Playing teams like VCU, Dayton, and Davidson is fun. The teams from the A-10 would be a lot better draw than your MAC slate. You would also have a natural rival built in. Is football giving you enough to justify the expense? Just asking. I will let you guys discuss and i will be back again next year. Go Bills!
