  1. ESPN says he’s got 3 TOs and 1 assist. I believe the turnovers, but he’s got more than 1 assist
  2. Jackson was maybe brushed by the shorts of the defender. No contact. He travels, they cal foul. The MAC at its finest.
  3. Tie game 5 tics Jackson on line after questionable call.
  4. Just watched the Griffs lose to the Rider/Ref squad. When your opponent has the refs on its side, it doesn’t matter who you’ve got on your side.
  5. Utah St supposedly could be the 4th team from MWC. I don’t get it they got destroyed by VCU early. Colorado St and Boise St haven’t played anyone. The BE is probably getting 4 teams. The MWC is ranked just above the MAC.
  6. All the Bulls need is a mobile big man...6’10” 245 lbs who’s agile, can defend the rim, and has a nice touch inside and outside, and a couple of 6’3” - 6’5” 200 lb guards who can defend and get in the lane or bomb from 3, and a 6’7” slasher who doesn’t foul, hits inside, mid range jumpers, occasional 3 point bombs, and lock down defense. No reason this can’t happen. But first they have to kick some butt this year. Buffalo - the AlphaGonzaga and the OmegaDuke of the MAC!
  7. It, personally, would only be fun if Hurley came back and the Bull’s program cratered. He’s not coming back, but take a look at ASU vs Buffalo ever since he left here. Buffalo has been a better team except for possibly 2 out of the 6 years, including this year.
  8. Look at who has been the Bull who has been denigrated the most this year. His outside shot is still subpar, but his overall game is smoking: Jayvon Graves...the guy that you need to lead.
  9. Bulls won’t win a game in Cleveland.
  10. Bulls have the edge so far in every aspect, despite looking bad, except for points from the foul line.
  11. Bulls look bad. Flashes look worse.
  12. Dakich said that we would know from the play in the last 90 seconds to 2 minutes of the first half whether the game would blow wide open in the second half or go down to the wire. Let’s see if the Great Carnak follows up on this bloviation.
  13. Keep driving into traffic, and put the ball up, because... you know, the Bulls are in the top 10 in rebounding.
  14. Justin Cage! Shut up, Dakich.
  15. Why does anyone object to the Bulls finishing fourth or fifth in the MAC? Look at what the head coaches are paid. Whitesell was hired on the cheap. That’s the UB way.
  16. If you compare this UB team to the UB team of two years ago, one of the most glaring differences is the efficiency in 3 point shooting. Two years ago, the Bulls finished the year with 7(!) players who shot over 33% from 3. Ironically, that doesn’t include Harris because he shot a little over 27%. Segu had a poor game against Toledo in just about any way you can measure it, including 3 point shooting. However, he has been Mr Efficiency from beyond the arc this year. Other than Fagan and Skogman, who have seen limited action, Segu is the only Bull with major minutes this year who exceeds 33% from 3. Graves most likely has been drawing a more capable guard than he was 2 years ago. It doesn’t explain the plummet in his free throw accuracy. Clearly, he should not be the go to guy at end of game situations. Depending on who the opponent is, that responsibility should belong to Williams, Segu, or Mballa.
  17. He should buy back his Grand Island house so that he and his family can escape the heat in the summer.
  18. Except it’s really not wide open because the teams eligible for the MAC tournament will have different total number of games played in conference. So Toledo and Akron have the edge at this point in acquiring the top seeds.
  19. BG just handed Toledo its 3rd loss of the season in MAC play. It’s wide open.
  20. The MAC is crazy. I hope that the Bulls are the team that survives. And my second wish is that they draw Arizona St as their first round opponent. My third wish...lol
  21. DJ Cooper - his junior year. He was a Bull killer, although his season stats were less than stellar: he shot under 40% from inside, and under 31% from outside the arc for the season. He was 4 of 6 from inside and 5 of 10 from outside in the MAC tourney game against the Bulls...the game that Mitchell Watt was T’d up for hanging on the rim. If ever there was a reason for Buffalo leaving the MAC, that was it. Ohio went to the elite 16 that year. Many on this site disparage Witherspoon, but he was the coach who was at the helm that year. There is no doubt that home cooking cost the Bulls, but DJ Cooper certainly played a role.
  22. Thank you, MaineBull, for your detailed, and accurate, assessment of the Bulls.
