  1. No, don't you see in order to make great hires you need to find a group of coaches that you've never worked with before. It worked out great with our last regime! Mo found a bunch of coordinators that stuck around just long enough to get the long term AirBNB discount. Leipold stuck by his guys for better or worse and it worked out for him a hell of a lot better. It's not the only way to do business, but just because Lembo worked with somebody a decade ago doesn't make them unqualified. The guy hasn't even coached a game for us (well those of us here that are fans) and already its started.

  2. Gotta love people like Rapidsfan. He just wasted an entire afternoon researching the career of an Elon Strength and Conditioning Coach just to make a point that is completely irrelevant.

  3. On a more positive note, I’ve seen 20+ 2025 recruit offers come thru today. Mainly NY, NJ, PA and some re-recruits. Really positive vibes. Lots of local HS visits this week too.

  4. On the road at Athens to derail a Bobcats team on a 3 game win streak. Thankfully they don't have the size of UT but they shoot 3 at a high volume 28 att per game 7 made per, but they have lowest opponent 3 fg percentage. Defensively they trap a lot leading the conference w/11 stls per game. Ball security, rebounding and staying out of foul trouble has to be a priority coaches/players have to read the refs to see how they are calling the game. Its clear teams have are going scheme to "limit" Watson's impact. I would like to see her breakdown the defense and distribute more before she goes of 40. I hope this is the game Ogden gets her shooting touch back the kid is struggling a bit. Winnable game lets start this run!

  5. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2024/01/31/college-football-coaching-hires-grades/72411189007/ 6. Pete Lembo, Buffalo Lembo has won at every one of his stops across multiple levels of competition. Most importantly, he went 33-29 in five seasons at Ball State, another MAC program with limited resources that demands careful talent evaluation and player development to make ends meet. Since leaving the Cardinals after the 2015 season, Lembo has worked as an assistant at Maryland, Rice, Memphis and South Carolina. He's one of the top Group of Five hires of the cycle.

  6. I checked TBN this morning. I don't think a report was even filed about the game last night...that tells you something. "Disaster" and words like that, though often overused, are apt in this situation. Functionally, we are overmatched on offense, defense, and coaching versus almost every other D1 team. I know there people on this site show a lot of graphs and do a lot of analysis on this -- which is fine -- but the fact of the matter remains that you have to have enough talent to hit open 3 pointers (or be talented enough to take open 3 pointers). Same thing on the defensive end. Everything isn't "regression to the mean". We just lack the talent with these players and whatever talent they do possess is not being cultivated by the coaching they have received. It is the worst of both worlds. In watching a few games at various points in the season, I do think we have below average MAC talent (overall), but better coaching and talent development would have likely won us a few more games (and made a few others closer). The problem is I don't see a lot of growth. We are 20 games into the GHIII experience. He has gotten the team to come out better from the start, but we are still overmatched. We are 6 - 13 against the spread, which means we are performing worse than the sharps expect us to. 6 - 13 is awful -- it is the 17th worse in D1. We have more games left this season, so I want to see something from this coach and this team that provides hope. If not, any conversation after the season (in my opinion) is fair to have.

  8. Chatman would start on every MAC team. But you're right about the rest and I'm not in the mood to interrupt anyone's UBMBB rampage, so carry on.

  12. I am glad Pete Lembo maintained a lot the UB coaching staff because it’s really too late for them to land other coaching jobs for next season. I want the Maurice Linquist supporters that think that behavior is ok for him to only think about himself over a lousy $400,000 dollars? There is a lot more important things than money. You don’t do that to your people that go to work to help you become successful in sports your a team. There is a right and wrong way to conduct sports business. I don’t believe Maurice Linquist will ever be a FBS head coach again after what he pulled at UB. No way would I personally hire a coach like that. I like that Pete Lembo is connecting with the high school coaches of Section 5 and Section 6 that was lacking with Maurice Linquist in my opinion. UB Horns Up! Go Bulls! Let’s Go Buffalo
