  1. I was talking with her yesterday. She said she's coming back to play next season.
  2. I'm an old guy too, and normally wouldn't have a problem with it. I agree with bullsbball though. Bama shouldn't be using it.
  3. Hopefully Ronni Nwora will be back next year. AT 6'2", she would help inside. From what I understand, Chellia Watson has the ability to be the best player in the MAC. Will be good to have her available.
  4. Being "in the wrong place, at the wrong time" is one thing. Taking a gun to the "wrong place" is another. He's not being charged because "he didn't know the gun that was requested was going to be used in committing a crime." I wonder what he thought it was requested for.
  5. Where was Devin Ceaser last night? Would have been a good chance for some major minutes.
  6. While Three Dog Night has brought in the largest tailgate crowd, I prefer local cover bands for the tailgates. Chicago Authority, Nerds Gone Wild, Yaghtfathers, A-List...
  7. As much as I hate the music that the DJs play, I've realized over the last few games that some of the older songs they play are because that's what the dance team has choreograped their routine to.
  8. We did a poor job boxing out on the defensive end. Time and again we saw the Kent bigs grabbing an offensive board for an easy put back. Hardnett even let a guy go around him for a bound after a Kent free throw. Only way the second guy in the lane on a free throw should get a rebound, is if it bounces out well over the first guys reach. He just seemed to play a bit lazy last night.
  9. Here's my take. Take it for what you will. Today's world is a mamby pamby, "tell me what I did wrong, but tell me in a nice way so that my self esteem isn't bruised" kind of world. From what I've seen, Coach BB doesn't operate that way. She's going to let you know you F'd up loud and clear, even if it's front of 1000+ fans. Some will take that and work hard at making themselves better. Some will cower and remove themselves from what they deem as abuse. My guess is that's why even some of the players that planned on staying after the coaching change, changed their minds. FLJ seemed to do the same thing, but she saved the really loud rants for in the confines of the locker room. (At Niagara a few years ago was a classic example. Problem was, everyone in the gym could hear her from the locker room.)
  10. Thank you. I'm familiar with that process, but had never heard it called materiality before. Much appreciated.
  11. Enrique14150... As always, an awesome recap of the game. You mentioned Bates not playing defense. He picked up his first foul with less than 10 minutes left in the game. That doesn't happen if you're playing any semblence of D. Agree with MuchMany on his assessment of Bates. He was interacting with the crowd, and not in a nice way. I feel bad for the guy that got tossed. What's with Bates' Dad being behind the bench the whole game. I guess he even went to the locker room with the team at the half. Is he on staff? I also want to give a shout out to Erie County for his/her first UBFan post without a negative comment. (See Hardnett is balling...)
  12. Looking forward to it. Weather shouldn't be keeping anybody away.
  13. I prefer to look at it this way. With Southern Tier Brewing being there and UBMD sponsoring the game, I see it that the Docs are trying to tell us that beer is good for us. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
  14. ESPN has picked up the Men's game against Kent. It has been changed from Saturday, 2/11, to 6 p.m. on Friday, 2/10.
  15. I honestly thought that the crowd was louder than I expected for its size. Especially with no student section or band.
  16. Outlier? Embarrassment is a better word, when it came to his antics. I loved that we were winning, though.
  17. I had this conversation just other day about some of the officials. Some seem to think that the fans are there to watch them, and not the game. I once went to a game at the arena where I sat behind 3 officials that never said a word about the playing of the game. Their entire conversation was comments like, "he missed that one", "should have been offensive", "that was a makeup call"... throughout the entire game. I asked them after the game if they were there as supervisors evaluating the officials. When they said, "no", I asked them if they even watched the players. The following week, one of them was an official at one of my games. We talked about it, and had a good laugh. He said he didn't even realize they were doing that.
  18. It was good meeting you the other night, MuchMany. Good to put a face to a screen name. Loved pretty much everything about this game. Zid was unstoppable. The best part...? They shot 75% on free throws. If they had done that in every game, we'd have at least 2 more W's, and maybe more. That should be the minimum for a D-1 team. Hoping for a good crowd tomorrow night. Also hoping the the in house announcer stops calling K. Jones, Curtiss. 🙂 Just busting chops there. He does a really good job.
  19. Actually BSF, I think Coach Mo did that just because you suggested it.
  20. D-1 teams should be shooting a minimum of 75% on free throws. Sure, you're gonna have that Shaq on the team that can't buy one, but there should be an Ernie D. on the team to offset that. They are FREE throws.
  21. I agree, but geez, those that complain CONSTANTLY, don't even acknowlege when the team plays well. They just dig to find some part of the game to b!tch about.
