  1. I believe that's why he still has a year.
  2. Enjoyed the game last night, and am very happy about the W. We went out to 10 point leads on a few occasions and let Ohio back into it. We need to improve on that. Wondering about the last ditch 3 point attempt by Ohio to tie things up. My view was obstructed on that shot. OU was complaining that the shooter was fouled, but didn't get the call. Did anyone have a good view of that?
  3. UB Stadium got new lighting a few years back, and is now suitable for ESPN cameras. Their scoreboard would be a good get, though.
  4. I wanted to give a little insight into the Camellia Bowl experience. The team was scheduled to fly out of Buffalo at around noon on Friday, 12/23. On Thursday afternoon, realizing that the storm was imminent, the flight was moved up to 1:50 a.m. on Friday. Had they waited until the original schedule, we would likely not have made it to Alabama. Arrival in Montgomery was around 3:30 a.m. CST. The temperature was in the low 20s upon arrival. Everyone got to hit the hay and the team's schedule would then resume as originally planned. Montgomery was pretty much a ghost town. Fortunately, Common Bond Brewery was only a block from the hotel. It was open on Friday until 10, and again on Christmas Eve until 6 p.m. After that, everything was pretty much shut down until Monday due to the holiday. The team visited the Rosa Parks museum. It is very well put together, and should be a stop if you ever find yourself in Montgomery. Some of the team and travel party attended Christmas Day worship service at Dexter-King Baptist Church. Dr. Martin Luther King was the Pastor of this Church at one time. Lots of familiar Christmas music, and a good message. The UB contingent that was there was recognized by the church leaders and were welcomed with open arms. I mentioned the cold temperature earlier. While it remained colder than average, the temps did gradually climb throughout the stay. Game day was sunny and in the low to mid 50s. Perfect for football, and comfortable for the fans. The game has been thoroughly rehashed previously in this thread, so I'll keep my comments short. Ahmed was a beast. Local talent that went to the same high school as my daughter. The D-Line, while not getting any sacks, got plenty of pressure on Vantrease. I focused on Damian Jackson a number of times. He doesn't ever quit. Clevester (Tre) Hines did a great job, especially considering he hadn't played corner since high school. I asked him after the game if he was going back to WR. "No Sir, I'm a DB now." He had some big time sticks in the game. Justin Marshall put together one hell of an audition tape. Heading back to Buffalo on Tuesday night would bring some adventure. With Buffalo airport still closed, the travel party flew into Rochester. The plan was to bus back to UB via route 31, but I90 opened in time to bus back on NYS Thruway. Once at UB, we found many of the cars under lots of snow. The driving lanes in the lot had been plowed, but there was a 2'-3' pile of plowed and packed snow keeping the cars from entering the driving lanes in the lot. A few shovels had been left in the lot for the guys to use. We saw one player moving snow with a crutch. Many dug out that night. Others, like us, called for a ride home and went back the next day to dig out. Overrall, it was a good experience, but I sure am glad that we won. It would have made a miserable trip home if the outcome had been different.
  5. See you all in Montgomery. Merry Christmas everyone.
  6. Jones was on fire early last night, but cooled off in the second half.
  7. I suspect we'll see an offer from Kansas for Borland before too long. His uncle is the DC there on LL's staff. That's how UB got him in the first place.
  8. As recently as last year they were in the South end bleachers with the band pretty much right next to the visitors bench. This year they moved the band to the other side of the South end. Now they're next to the visitors tunnel. It sucks.
  9. We can agree to disagree on the first paragraph. Especially the $0 part. On the next 2 points, I agree.
  10. While I hate the transfer portal, I do understand that it's the new reality, and that we have to live with it. Quitting on your team when there is still a bowl game left is disgusting. They should be made to pay for their semester of classes for being classless.
  11. Looks like Cinci is going with Scott Satterfield from Louisville.
  12. What was Leipold's record in Buffalo in his second season here?
  13. Google showing drive time from Atlanta to Montgomery to be about 2-1/4 hours.
  14. Does that make us MAC Champions.😁
  15. I'm thinking, dress warm for the bowl game.
  16. I was stationed in front of the Bonnie student section in the South bleachers for yesterdays game. There were 75-100 kids in the section. The were loud, and cheered their team on throughout the game. They never sat down once. I might also add they were very family friendly. I heard 1 F-bomb the whole time and that was after a terrible Bonnie turnover. Our student section was rather full. I couldn't tell from where I was standing, but they must have all been napping in the bleachers. Other than a very few right behind the basket, I'm guessing the rest of them had very warm hands from sitting on them the entire game. I will say that our band members do step up. The sound good when playing, and they get into the game somewhat.
  17. There are some rumors of a coming upgrade. 37" Sony Triniton.
  18. Who's going to be at the game on Friday afternoon?
  19. It wasn't short. It hit the upright quite a way up. It had plenty of leg.
  20. I've heard that the refs F-d up on his miss this past Saturday. They took too long to place the ball. Once the ball was finally placed, they had a total of 8 seconds to get the play off. It was all very rushed.
  21. In response to 2 questions in the last paragraph, I'll be at the stadium tomorrow, and will be in Boise if that's where we go bowling. Either will be more exciting than Olean.
