New Years, what do you want for UB sports

My hope is for better than the MAC but not Power 5. I have dreams of AAC. -
Real question. Is the Big East a P5 conference (or something similar for basketball)?

Where are they now (Transfer Edition)

Smart seems to have done a lot in his short post career. https://www.nba.com/blazers/ikenna-smart -
For your consideration... Ok, there are now 141 FBS college teams. The difference from the top to the bottom is huge. So here is my plan. Drop the number to 120 teams. Class A would have 5 conferences of 12 teams each. The top 60 college teams in the US. Class B would have 5 conferences of 12 teams. The 61-120 teams in the US. The leagues would be roughly based on geography, as much as possible. After the season, the last place team in each A conference would be relegated to the B league. The five champions on the B leagues would be promoted to the A conference. The league teams could be reconfigured after the season, again based on geography. The current championship bowl system would remain. 5 league champions and 3 at large teams. The remaining bowl games could have AA games, BB games or even AB games. Rivalry games and any "non league games" would have to be worked out. But since this makes too much sense, with too much to lose for the current beneficiaries, it'll never happen, so I'm not worried about the fringe games.

Should/would UB welcome him back? -
I just checked and I'm an "Enthusiast", which sounds pretty lame. But I've been on these Boards since xxxDerekxxx was in high school.🙂

It's infectious -
Should it read "3-0 going into Toledo"?

I doubt that UB could get a sports donation like this, but what caught my eye was the reduced capacity (35,000) of a Big 10 stadium in a market like Chicagoland. It looks spectacular to me. https://rebuildryanfield.com/

Is there an update on this? The suspense is killing me.

I live in Texas these days and follow Rice sports. I just saw this and wondered if UB had anything similar? It seems a great way to integrate the athletics program along with the general academic programs. https://news.rice.edu/news/2022/rice-creates-major-sport-analytics-offer-training-rapidly-expanding-field

Not for me.

Jeenathan played 37 minutes and scored 14 points in Denton TX.

I hope we do sign Phil Connors if only to help out with replay review.

Has anyone put together a cheat sheet on who has transferred to or from, committed, de-committed, grad transfer, juco, freshman, etc? I have to admit that I am completely confused on who's still here, who's new that I should be excited about, and who is an up and coming prospect.

Related but only oh-so-slightly, I've always felt as if San Diego State should be the athletic model for UB. Mid-major school in a professional sports town as part of a State university. Successful in football and basketball. Better facilities but, I think, a similar academic standing. And both cities are known for their local weather 🙂

I agree with all of this, but I think NYU might have some brand infringement with a UNY.

Will this invite/allow discussion of Buffalo becoming "New York State University"?
