  1. I would like this hire. Has prior coaching experience. Not an old geezer. From Buffalo. Ok so what he played at Bona. Family lineage. And he’s been an assistant for Rick Barnes. Yes with hiring an external candidate that would be a complete rebuild but I’m ok with that. Those recruits or current players that wanna leave be gone. Theres no certainty that they would stay if Hodgson gets the job. Plus it seems Hogdson has one foot out the door already. And he has no coaching experience. So think about that if you’re Alnutt. You wanna put it on the line with a first timer?
  2. I’m gonna take the high road and just be thankful for Nate Oats and the level of success he helped us reach. If anything it opened our eyes that it could be done at UB. Even though it was short lived and even though I thought we had at least one more year it was a great ride. Hopefully we land back on our feet again. I know we can. We can win the MAC again and we can win tournament games. My imidiate reaction was sadness. That grew to disappointment at the way it all unfolded but it is what it is...let’s get ourselves a coach. Build and hopefully kick Alabama’s ass like we did ASU if we ever play them.
  3. A bit of sunshine dare I say. Now let’s get a coach.
  4. Lol. As for the blanket. All I’m saying is that 2.4 million comes with high expectations. Especially with boosters involved. No patience. If he wins and can beat Kentucky and make runs in the tournament he will stay. But the leash is short. IMO
  5. Yea the same blanket Avery Johnson had. Saban doesn’t give a flying F about basketball.
  6. You are not. We need to pluck assistants from winning programs with success head coaches.
  7. I thought about Hammon...but will young boys want to play for a woman? Sounds sexist but it’s truth. I love Hammon to replace FLJ though.
  8. Jamall Walker...deep MAC roots. If I had to guess.
  9. I’m sorry but there’s no way Durey goes to Alabama. He wasn’t good enough to be recruited by any SEC team he suddenly thinks Nate is gonna bring him along. That’s not how this works. Alabama fancies themselves bigger than what they actually are and therefore they won’t settle in recruiting.
  10. You are correct. And as of now no current players have decided to transfer. My guess is that all are waiting for the shoe to drop then make their commitments.
  11. I honestly don’t care if he is like one of us or an alien. Just give me someone who can coach and will be here at least 4 years.
  12. I’ll love the next guy that gets me tournament wins.
  13. Maybe we hire Hartman and he moves into Nate’s Grand Island home. All jokes aside I like Fife, Hartman or Becker. If we are losing Allen that means Hogdson has no pull so why even bother hiring him. His one upside is being able to keep this recruiting class and that’s falling apart.
  14. Here’s the thing...there are currently over 400 kids in the transfer protocol...whoever comes in as coach can get a few of those. We are going to have to bottom out before we can rise again. Good riddance Allen it was nice never knowing you.
  15. Good riddance. There are over 400 transfer available I’m sure whoever comes in as coach can get some of those players.
  16. What would you expect from a football school whose ego is so inflated bc of the football teams success that they think all their sports teams are equal.
  17. He can hitch a ride on Saban’s yacht.
  18. I thought we were in the clear for this off season. We knew he would move on at some point. I thought it was going to be after next season at the earliest.
  19. Pretty much. It’s all about the things that don’t matter on the court. All the ancillary things that UB has to improve. We need to become more first class. But what comes first the chicken or the egg. Winning on the court or building off of it? Do they work in conjunction? If so why haven’t we seen capital improvements over the last few years of success from our b-ball programs? UB has had a taste of success. I know I want more of it. Hopefully administration feels the same and does the necessary things to keep this train on the right tracks. I don’t just want to revert back to just another MAC team.
  20. Don’t settle...become the head coach. No experience required lol
  21. If this rumor is indeed true then that’s piss poor and very upsetting.
  22. Ugh this is like the knife getting twisted and twisted. This really stings.
  23. Even though I started us down the path of D-II coaches I do agree with you. Lol
